    How does it compare to the first version

    Good day man, pls tell me, if you directly compare this lens (70-300 IS II nanoasm) and 70-200 F4L IS USM (the second version of this lens), what would you choose for your daily use? In particular, I am interested in whether I understood you correctly that you say that these glasses differ only in color, probably we are not talking about color, but about micro contrast. Then I understand everything. And as for the sharpness? is there image degradation at the long focal end, as let's say I observe it at 55-200 f/4.5-6.3 or at 55-250 IS STM?

    A tip from a Canon freelancer. Put first the adapter ad the lens! And than as one unit mount ad the camera body! ...... If you do first mount the adapter ad the body, the camara see this as a lens.
    So this could be som connection- or focus troubles.
    If you mount first the adapter ad the lens the camera see this as one complete unit so it could be provide troubles.

      You actually right. I got the one without the I S. and had the error message. I stumbled on your comment and did what you suggested, the mount in to the lens and the 2 on the camera and it worked. The only problem I had was the image stabilizing the lens did not have it so was returned
      No ef to rf means 7 pins comm. to 12 pins, I don’t how that will work 😂😂😂with images stabilization?

    Many thanks for review
    Do you think 300mm on crop sensor camera is enough for bird photography?

    • @PPNJ
      @PPNJ  Год назад

      Yes and no. It will do the job for smaller birds like back yard birding and stuff like that but I’ve found 400mm to be the least amount of focal range to be what I need for serious wildlife like raptors or birds that generally don’t let you get to close. That being said my friend liked to use his 70-300 lens for wildlife so it can be done. Just a matter of prefrence. Thanks for watching the channel and I hope this helps to answer your question a little bit.

    I love this lens. Upgraded to the 100-400 RF - like the extra reach! Hey Have you tried the RF 800 f11 yet? Curious to know your thoughts

    • @PPNJ
      @PPNJ  2 года назад

      I haven’t I’m also always wondering what it’s like. The f/11 scares me as I really like BIF shots. I also don’t like that the AF is limited to the center of the frame but I don’t actually have any real world experience with it. I should rent it and make a review about it as I’m always thinking about buying it.

      Hey. You will need a RF-EF adaptor I’m going to put a link to Amazon to the one I use but there is one without a control ring that’s less than expensive if you prefer that I like having the control ring there though.

    I got an R8 and with this lens sometimes the AF just don't work. You half press, the lens tries to focus a little and than nothing, the camera don't try to focus anymore. In my old T4i never had this problem. I'm using the original Canon adapter, btw.

      Yeah it's definitely really nice very easy to use and a great walk around all purpose lens. I'd be lying if I said I haven't been struggling not buy it lol. If I wasn't fully committed to the RF mount I would already have it. Thanks for watching the channel I really appreciate it!

      I just got the 100-400rf I’m going to put a review out about it soon but man it’s crazy light and af is super fast and accurate! F/8 is very limiting though but having 400mm this light is really nice. I’ll have a video up about that soon! Thanks for watching the channel I appreciate it!
