Hey all, every single time I sharpen any knife with any tool, I ALWAYS go coarse side of the stone or this little gadget, then finish off with the fine. In this video you mention the tip of yours is really dull, so what that coarse side will do first is get all of the imperfections out of the blade and make it all a uniform blade. Then you finish it off on the fine side, almost think of the fine side as a “polish”. Works awesome every time.

The stone part sharpens the tip of knives very well.
Best things about these portable Smith`s, they are almost entirely idiot proof. And they sharpen very well, including D2 tool steel.
I just got the same one today
Fantastic video thank you for sharing.
Thank you, knife dad
Thank you
Just purchased this exact one last night, not really a fan.
thx big help
Can I use this sharpener on kitchen knife?
Do I put any pressure on the blade as I sharpen it
What do you mean at the end by “hooks”? I’m just curious of the terminology
This tool is meant to be for outdoorsman, it’s for fishing hooks 🎣
