I asked Tim Staffell what this song was about and he said it was about a spaceship. He apparently had no idea the band was working on it. I met him at a new year's eve party last year in Surrey near Kingston
Silver Salmon is not from Queen I sessions but from News Of The World. You can hear the "Rototoms", the Ludwig Snare and the same cymbals you hear in News Of The World. You can compare the roll of "Get Down Make Love" with the one (slower) before the ending of silver salmon, it has the same sound. I'm a drummer, i can confirm you this. It may be that the song was written in the early years (?) but that recording we all have (part 1 and 2) are from the NOTW sessions. Freddie voice sounds like the Feelings Feelings one, maybe it could be the same session. In terms of vocal extension or tone please remember that we don't know if the recording (rip of the tape) is in his right intonation / the same of the song. PS: You can even hear the China Cymbal (I think the 20" by Wuhan) that Roger never used before the 1976 (as well as the rototoms and the ludwig snare from NOTW)
Indeed it is from the News of the world sessions. There is an early take of "Feelings , Feelings" from those sessions, which ends with a guitar progression exactly where the Silver Salmon starts. If you hear it you then kno for sure , the band played those two songs in a row , in an early NOTW session , then for unknown reasons they rejected Silver Salmon, and did some more takes of "Feelings Feelings" , and recorded only that, but of course it was a rough run through, and was too rejected from the final album. Of course we don't know the exact era from where Silver Salmon was originated and written , it may actually be from the early days.

i was actually listening to this not an hour ago. there was no youtube upload left of this song. only place i knew where to find it was a random upload on soundcloud. let's see how long qpl leaves this video up xD
For some reason I thought this was a Smile song? This is really an outtake or unused item from News of the World? Just asking because we see the Queen (now "Queen I" album featured here).
As far as I'm aware, it's a Smile song that they worked on a little during the NOTW period (not entirely sure, Queen I was initially there by mistake haha)

Thanks for the info! I had put the wrong over on the video at first but since corrected it.

Wrong! They have simply not given it up so that they can access it later. It was simply an attempt to revive the song.
Wow, I didn't know about the existence of this song, interesting, good video
This song is not from the first album sessions, it's from the News Of The World sessions
Thank you

La verdad si suena mucho a Queen 1 y no a News of the word
imagine this song sung by young freddie in early 1970-1972 he would have used falsetto not chest voice
1:09 he tired nails
2:18 Six octave
2:18 A5 Xd
be careful, queen has been copyrighting the hell out of this song
Thanks for the warning.
Doesn’t that mean it could release?
@@smoosty_ not necessarily, iirc this demo wasnt even supposed to be released to the public.

Из какого альбома Queen эта песня. В"... Of the World" её нет.
