Particularly love this song, as I love Queen, and I also love trains, so this was almost the perfect video for me. It could have done without the eye-candy though. The girl was unnecessary IMHO.

I was doing bird in a Glasgow jail the day it was announced Freddy passed. You should have heard the collective "No" from pretty much all in the dining hall. Over 200 cons saddened at the passing of Freddie. I'll never foget that moment. Freddie was more than a singer, he was a gift to life.

Pretty sure this was filmed in NE Pennsylvania. That locomotive definitely came out of the PRR shops outside of Pittsburgh. The Belpair firebox is a dead giveaway there. There is a rail museum up near Scranton that uses an identical engine and the clean exhaust is because they use anthracite hard coal. Perfect for this video.
Just imagine being told you have Aids and probably don't have more than a couple of years left to live, Freddie had been told this before he even made this video and rather asking for sympathy he gave 100% of his final years to his fans by carrying on and making hits like this one. A true legend that was taken from us far too young but left a legacy that no one could take away from him!!!

I think people can be a bit self-centred when talking about death. Read through comments about Queen videos and you inevitably read people saying how 'sad' it was that Freddie died, and how sad it is to see him having so much fun when inside he knew he was dying.. This video has a lesson for all of us. The one person who wasn't at all sad was Freddie. Here he is, doing what he loves more than anything, and having an absolute blast. His death may have been sad to us, but the most important person in Freddie's death was Freddie, and Freddie sure doesn't look sad in this video. He's living his life to the full.

I didn't listen to Queen in my younger years (I loved Chicago!), but LOVE the music now!! It brings me close to tears, because I lost my brother to AIDS, also, about a year before Freddie. A terrible time, for many, but his music will reign forever!!!

A great bassplayer must have an idea of what he's providing for the band. JD is probably the most versatile player of all time. He delivered only great bass tracks and Freddie knew that. He considered him as Queens secret weapon. Elton John said Deacon is his fav player, unfortunately he's in Queen. JD was just amazing!
The bass played throughout the song is performed on a synth through an arppegiator and not played by John. There is some real bass in the song around the 2 min mark and nearer the end which is pretty cool though.

An underestimated jem, this song is full of surprises, starting with this beautiful intro with dramatic key changes, mirrored by the dramatic key changes in the end of an epic guitar solo. Lyric are meaningful, all the instruments are played by masters (try to play the riff on a bass, it's in F major), and Freddie's genius voice on the top. It's a tour de force! Of course!

This Covid era has been really depressing and one of the things that has helped me most is Queen's music. Breakthru has always been one of my favourite songs of theirs, such an underappreciated song and music video. We miss you Freddie 👑👌🏻
Queen was already the breakthru of the age in music. From rock n roll to modern pop song, no band can breakthru like the Queen. I love ya, you are the most important music inspiration of my life. No matter how many years are passed, the music of Queen can live long than any song.
For me personally Tose Proeski is bigger loss and i am sure many would have felt that way but sadly he wasnt that much popular on global level. Right when he started his pursue of the world he died. His first english album after 6 created in Macedonia, was released after his death. Many don't know about him, but those who heard him or saw him or even met him, describe unparalleled angelic voice, big smile, big heart, energy as that of Freddie on stage. He was 26 when he died. By 26 he had recorded 7 albums. For me he probably had more powerful voice than Freddie. Although i wouldn't go there cause both are unique! I listen right now Freddie for whole month on repeat. Tose Proeski could be more compared with Pavarotti. Freddie has another type of voice which is quite unique i'd say. And probably i feel the same thing, that i heard similar voice as that of Tose Proeski, but never that powerful and same of Freddie. There are some that remind me of both of them but no one is that powerful or has that energy! This guy for whom i speak at the age of 24 became singer of the UNICEF National Anthem on global level and Goodwill Ambassador for whole Balkan. He was very big humanitarian. He died in car accident on 16 of October 2007. Date i will never forget and not one on the Balkan cannot forget where they were when that happened. Music lost so much. May they RIP and rock heavens!

@PensiveCzar I think he lost the passion to play after Freddie's death. He wrote wonderful songs with Freddie so I strongly believe he would be in the band even today writing new songs.

I think people can be a bit self-centred when talking about death. Read through comments about Queen videos and you inevitably read people saying how 'sad' it was that Freddie died, and how sad it is to see him having so much fun when inside he knew he was dying..
This video has a lesson for all of us. The one person who wasn't at all sad was Freddie. Here he is, doing what he loves more than anything, and having an absolute blast. His death may have been sad to us, but the most important person in Freddie's death was Freddie, and Freddie sure doesn't look sad in this video. He's living his life to the full.
The moral here is always enjoy yourself

An underestimated jem, this song is full of surprises, starting with this beautiful intro with dramatic key changes, mirrored by the dramatic key changes in the end of an epic guitar solo. Lyric are meaningful, all the instruments are played by masters (try to play the riff on a bass, it's in F major), and Freddie's genius voice on the top. It's a tour de force! Of course!

For me personally Tose Proeski is bigger loss and i am sure many would have felt that way but sadly he wasnt that much popular on global level. Right when he started his pursue of the world he died. His first english album after 6 created in Macedonia, was released after his death. Many don't know about him, but those who heard him or saw him or even met him, describe unparalleled angelic voice, big smile, big heart, energy as that of Freddie on stage. He was 26 when he died. By 26 he had recorded 7 albums. For me he probably had more powerful voice than Freddie. Although i wouldn't go there cause both are unique! I listen right now Freddie for whole month on repeat. Tose Proeski could be more compared with Pavarotti. Freddie has another type of voice which is quite unique i'd say. And probably i feel the same thing, that i heard similar voice as that of Tose Proeski, but never that powerful and same of Freddie. There are some that remind me of both of them but no one is that powerful or has that energy!
This guy for whom i speak at the age of 24 became singer of the UNICEF National Anthem on global level and Goodwill Ambassador for whole Balkan. He was very big humanitarian. He died in car accident on 16 of October 2007. Date i will never forget and not one on the Balkan cannot forget where they were when that happened. Music lost so much. May they RIP and rock heavens!

@PensiveCzar I think he lost the passion to play after Freddie's death. He wrote wonderful songs with Freddie so I strongly believe he would be in the band even today writing new songs.
This song is just so upbeat and joyful! Hearing it always makes me feel happy and uplifted. And I just love how much fun the guys are obviously having while filming the video. So typical of Queen to come up with such an incredibly CREATIVE idea - anything to entertain their fans!
