- This video is showing How I made diy lighter from scrap materials. Lighter is made out of zinc coated hex nut blinded by euro cent coins from sides. And some brass rods I found on scrapyard. This kerosene lighter is unique and looks industrial and steampunk thanks to composition of brass and steel.

Id use a clamp or vice when drilling something like that on a drill press. It could spin out on you or worse when it grabs hold of those work gloves.

Did you put the lighter in the container to oxidize? Can you tell me what process is that.
Yeah, I put small amount of ammonia into container. Fumes from ammonia will oxidize brass parts what makes it darker. Its great way how to age brass parts.
