Fantastic pianist, why have I never heard from her? Absolute worldclass playing!!! Good old school, love it.
Spectacular playing of criminally underrated and neglected etudes by a nearly forgotten composer whose contemporaries likened to Chopin in his understanding and mastery of the piano’s capabilities. Ms. Vered is a genius, fine artist, and a musical treasure.
His nocturnes are well worth listening to.
Make your words my words.
Moszkowski 15 Virtuoso Etudes Op. 72, a neglected work??? Quite a lot of students learned this before attempting Chopin's etude...... (so is kessler Op 20 etudes)
His piano concerto in E-major is great!
It seems easy, what a technique !!!! I didn't know this pianist, but I was fascinated by the dynamics and expressiveness. In fact, the ancient pianists were absolutely incredible and their perfection is undeniable. Thank you Ilana for this wonderful gift.
That’s what extraordinarily skilled pianists like IIana do-make the most technically challenging, appear easy! She’s Speechless!
She plays these pieces flawlessly.
Stupenda interpretazione fluida e correttissima nello spirito dell' Autore..
Grazie grazie Maestra!
Thanks for posting for all the people who cherished her vinyl recording from the '60s.
Unbelievable-Speechless-
Moszkowski is extremely demanding in every aspect of playing. These etudes demand extreme virtuosity mentally, physically, and spiritually! Moreover, you mastered Moszkowski’s complete Opus 72 (15) artistically with precision!!! 😳
Bravo 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽
Most enjoyable, and nice to hear, for once, the unadorned (un-Horowitzed, much as i love his versions!) originals in their pure state. I remember loving the LP when it was first issued, then never heard it again till now! I also heard Vered in concert in the 70's, a stunning Tchaik1 and RachPag to stay in the memory. Thanks for posting.
it's so fast and good i can't even tell i'm playing no. 2 it's like a different song lol
Ahaha, agree!
The only "right" execution of these pieces on RUclips...! (*) She brings all nuances out, where other interpretations sound either too mechanical, too mozart-y, too shallow, too superficial. She has the technique and the insight in the pieces. What a pearls!
(*) Except for the most well-known pieces that were also interpreted by wonderful pianists like Horowitz, Frere and Pletnev, these also did a great job. I would argue that No. 11 best interpretation is that of Horowitz, he is the only one that fully brings out the left hand arpeggios in the middle part - at least to my ear, which Pletnev nor Vered completely manage to do in my opinion
Do you know of any "recent" decent recordings of the 15 etudes with HQ audio?
@@GR.33. I'm afraid not. A pianist that does not shy away from interpreting less often played virtuous works and could do a marvelous job would be Yeol Eum Son, this rendition of Alkan is one of the best I've heard: ruclips.net/video/m52MJ6hJx3I/видео.html Perhaps we should ask her? ;-)
Another work from a rarely heard composer, and well done. BRAVA!
Update on 6 May 2016. Decided to hear them again. Well worth lsitening to a second time.
Fancy meeting you here! Have you listened to any of Moszkowski's etudes for left hand alone?
MrKipW O yes. Most of my day is spent on You Tube, listening to all the classical music never played on the classical music radio stations.
It's a pretty good resource. I especially like some of the excellent artists who put their own performances up, recording repertoire I can't even find on records. Many download sites exist for out of copyright recordings of interest as well.
Great performance. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much I listen to moskowski just as much as a play his music
Stunning, just stunning.
Amazing recording!
Beautiful
wow, wow, wow... incredible!
I really hope to listen to Ilana Vered playing Rachmaninoff piano concerto 3, that was my first encounter of Rach 3 in 1970s....
me encanta!!!

Always the best with moszkowsky
Stellar!!!
Thanks for sharing, the used LP seems to be quite expensive, I didn't find any for sale under 100$..
She has a really nice velocity...
Y la musica donde está ??
La Música no es solo velocidad.
Es técnica y musicalidad.,toque perlado ,colocación correcta del pedal y la dinámicas etc
Wtf Is that speed? I must play that in 2 months and I cant even read the notesheet completely
it doesn't have to be that fast, Horowitz plays much slow, but with clarity. since they are etudes what's most important is you have to fully grasp which technique each etude is trying to employ and make the best out of that exercise.
Love her playing in this, sadly only heard her live once, where she had a really off night in the Rachmaninov third, probably a record for the most dropped notes in a concerto.
her Moszkowski ,,,scintillating.Better sonority, pedaling and more charm than the vaunted S Hough....!I believe she played once for Rosina Lhevinne....
When/where was that, out of interest?
She studied with Mme. Lhevinne, as well as in Paris, I believe. Gorgeous spirit and fabulous pending effects! Always an artist!❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pedaling, NOT pending!!!

no it isn't
+Chen William
why?
+ZheltajaZvezda musicisgoodforyou?
If you think this isn’t a great performance, you need a psychiatrist. Immediately.
It is so unmusical.....
Perhaps because they are intended as "virtuostic" exercises, not specifically for sentimental nor emotional musicality?
I had that same reaction when I first heard VH perform the composers works in his performances.
I'd like to hear from some more erudite experts on the subject.
thanks
@@rsjmd this is music, first and foremost
Do you hate piano music in general, or just piano music played by a woman? I'm sorry, but I'm just trying to understand your rather bizar comment.
音楽知らんやろ
What?
Sorry, but this performance is a slapdash rhythmic mess.
+Carl Hopkinson
can you play it better?
+Carl Hopkinson see a psychiatrist soon son
+Carl Hopkinson aren't they called virtuoso etudes?
+Carl Hopkinson A strange comment. If you could point out with precision the details it might be more convincing, but i would have said rather the opposite, especially having heard Vered live and admired her rythmic verve and virtuoso flair in her best days. Or do you mean "this performance" as a whole? If you do make such sweeping statements it would be better not to post your own videos; "slapdash rythmic mess" would be only one of numerous glaring faults i would need to comment on, if i could be bothered to spend the time......
+ZheltajaZvezda Normally i'd reply that that's not the point; you don't have to be a master chef to complain about a lousy sub-standard meal in a restaurant. However, for once, exceptionally, the answer is provided for you: klik on the user's channel, try the various uploads and have a good laugh
