I"ve watched this numerous times since you've posted, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing all of these. I don't think Lorrie had anything to do with his death but believe he may have been afraid she'd leave him once she got successful. Their son Jesse looks exactly like Keith..

If you've ever lived with an alcoholic, you would know it doesn't start because of someone else. It's a choice people make that ruins everyone's lives. It's so sad and I hope people choose sober living over all else.

Dale, I agree with you about "the body needs the drug to just be and feel NORMAL" but I could be an active alcoholic if I allowed myself. I was lucky enough to be raised by my grandfather who was one of the 1st group of AA in Chicago many years ago, so I knew the dangers of drinking & drugs. When I saw it happening to me early on, I stopped immediately. Maybe that's the difference: the level or stage one gets to before one stops. But it's still a CHOICE.People quit all the time and stay stopped.

If you're referring to the Bob I'm thinking of (Mary's son), I can't get over how much he's changed his looks over the years. I saw some photos of him on Myspace, and I couldn't believe it!

That seems to be the attitude that prevails even now. She's hoping to change that attitude this year since she'll be working to put herself back on the list. She'll be releasing 2 new albums this year, and she also did a duet with her and Keith's son Jesse Keith, which will be the Black Saddles' 2nd single from their debut album, their remake of the old Pink Floyd classic "Mother." Should be very interesting.

How is another person responsible for an alcoholic drinking himself to death? Alcoholics start out that way long before they meet their partners or spouses. It's a genetic disease: everyone knows that you put the bottle to your own lips. No one makes you do it.
What is the purpose in blaming someone else for suicide? That's what addictions are. And it's a CHOICE.
I love Keith Whitley's music but have had far too much experience with alcoholics to buy into the "Lorrie made him do it" business.

I know I am chiming in a little late, but being married to an alcoholic myself, I find it absolutely appauling that anyone would say that Lorrie was to blame!!!! He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger!!!! Such a waste of a huge talent!!! Definitely one of the greatest country singers of all time!!!! I am a country singer a little bit myself, so I know a little bit about it!!!! If anyone doubts what he and Lorrie had, just listen to "Tell Lorrie I Love Her"!!! OMG, ITS A TEAR JERKER BECAUSE HE MAKES YOU FEEL IT!!!! HE LOVED HER!!!

Hurt is what most people won’t admit is what causes this I’ve been there and I could kill that pain with a bottle or a shot of drugs been clean 7 years now I see it daily and try to help addicts today

Amen, TNN was great, they were a country music channel, unlike CMT with all their crap!

I believe that would be extreme to suggest Lorrie Morgan was the sole cause of Keith's passing because he had those demons with alcohol and such to begin with, but there's no doubt he was insecure deep down about their marriage.

He's first tier for sure, but his hero was George Jones who truly was the best

I still can't or won't believe he died of alcohol. He had it all. I still think someone killed him.

Yeah, but we don't know what went on in their marriage. She may have very well made life harder for him.
