- Experience a real master at work! This was the golden-maned master's last appearance on the TV program "Opry Live." He was introduced on the stage of the Opry that evening by Bill Anderson and gave a masterful rendition of his first #1, "Don't Close Your Eyes," and an emotionally-charged performance of "I Never Go Around Mirrors."
Many thanks to cherrie68 for this wonderful birthday present. Thanks, sis! - Видеоклипы
If today’s country music had one ounce of this mans talent, we would still have real music.
Agreed, Mitch.
Amen!
If it would have been Lorie that would have Drink her self to death we would still have Keith .
@@LUCKYB. WOW!! That’s pretty mean & inappropriate…
Whitley was great no doubt, but there are plenty of great country music out there today carrying on the tradition of the legends.
Out of thousands of singers in the world when I heard he died I was driving and had to pull over and cried like a baby. It was announced on the radio. Will never forget that one. He sang from the soul.
Him and Stevie ray Vaughn hit me the hardest out of all of the ones we lost to soon they was just a couple yrs apart
@@briscoesjug1026 EDC
Omg, the same thing happened too me, except I was in my junior college year in an apt w then girlfriend and not driving. I cried too, like crocodile tears too
Me too! It’s like I lost a family member!
Lori would have been home he wouldn't have passed away
My God what a voice. That sound was when country music was the real deal. May you rest in peace Keith Whitley. You're truly missed. ❤️
This was one of the finest country music artists in our lifetime! It's so sad that he left us so early in life.
Agreed with you on this we lost Keith Whitley to soon to alcohol addiction at the age of 33 years old when he passed away his music will always lives on forever
He didn't think life was worth living so he killed himself with booze, the bottle was his friend.
This is the most delicate singing I ve ever heard
Yes Gene, you wrote exactly what I was going to say. Thanks Bro. from Nova Scotia!
I wish they would make a movie on him don't know you would play him.
You can just tell he’s just wore out and tired, all the pressure he had to endure. But he really had a voice of gold that no one else has. He made country music real, and that’s the way country should sound.
Alan Jackson also
Sweet Kentucky Boy😊Fran Red ♥️🍒
Hands down one of the greatest voices there ever was in country music. But as long as we play his music, he is never really gone. Never get tired of hearing Keith sing.
You can just feel the pain in his voice in this song...Thats when you know music comes straight from the soul.
Joseph Trujillo true very true
I definitely agree, Keith put his whole soul in his music. I love this man, so sad he passed so young.
Joyce Corcione true very true my number one in COUNTRY music and always will be number one at the age of 34 years old when he passed away he was such a very talented person just lost him to soon
Alan Jackson does also
I read somewhere that Keith had a motorcycle accident and after that he changed and in his performances you could see a sadness in his eyes. If you look closely at him in this video it really seems like he was tired physically and emotionally. He could put and incredible amount of heart and soul into his music and make people feel like they had a friend that understood their problems. He had more talent in one finger than 50 of these country pop bromance singers of today.
No it was lorries Morgan and I believe the year u die u hurt a little worse
He lost a brother on one. He never got over that. Keith was just an alcoholic. Couldn't shake it.
The wreck was called Lorrie Morgan
What you see is the effects of alcohol, I can see it too.
@@scottesmonds9798 Lori tore him apart
I just Thank God I was able to quit drinking for good.....amazing it’s been 9 years for me..... just sad such a talented man couldn’t do it......please pray for those who can’t quit it’s an aweful struggle
No disrespect keith amazing but i believe he host of mental health issues as well as drink
I’m with you brother …quit cold Turkey in 2009 I hope I never drink again …
Praise the Lord for saving you
Nobody cares you still suck
August 18 1991...one day at a time my worse day sober is better than my best day drunk and on drugs
It's safe to say this song is timeless! It's been 31 years since he last played and it still connects to us! RIP Keith Whitley
Nail on the head.
I'm 71. This is real country music. Tells a story.
I am a huge Keith Whitley fan! Right from the beginning he stole my heart with his warm rich voice and soulful singing. You feel everything he is saying, in every song he sings. He passed just 4 days before my 30th birthday and I will remember that day just like it was yesterday. I just couldn’t believe it when I heard the news. Gone too soon, but never forgotten, RIP Keith ❤️
Keith Whitley, a legend in is own time. One of the greatest.
Singing in heaven
This man would smashed all number one records of all time had he lived longer !! RIP KEITH W

You can see the pain in his 👀. What a hell of a legend.
Keith Whitley was the best of the best in country music!
R I P forever.
John Mullins true very true
Keith had TOTAL control of his vocal cords. In one word he could hit 4*5 octives. He Danced around the words of his songs. Truly blessed. I miss 'um.
Keith whitley was so blessed with the most beautiful, soulful voice of his era. I just wish he had not been so tortured in his soul and could have gotten a handle on his drinking. I would love to still be listening to his new music, instead of the junk thats coming out of Nashville these days. Gone too soon, but never to be forgotten. Rest in Peace Keith Whitley.❤️☺️😊💞💕😭
Most people don't realize this.
The king
I can't say this enough. I love Keith Whitley. I'm 72. His voice. He puts you there.
Yes he sure does 😓
My gosh ..... that voice . Just a thing of beauty
Keith is one of the greatest of all time. I just finished reading Lorrie's book from 1997. I realize we all have our struggles. He had everything most of us only dream about--a beautiful wife and kids and a great career. I wish he could have taken his rehab attempts seriously and got himself squared away. I would have liked to still have him around today making more great music instead of the junk coming out of Nashville.
He needs to be in the hall of fame
May I ask for the name of that book
@@jontanner309 I think it is called Forever Yours Faithfully, My Love Story by Lorrie Morgan
He was great . He had a problem and it took him still love his music!!
I just wish he was still
He needs to be in the hall of fame soon
No words can explain Keith Whitley voice and how the words from every song, especially this song. My heart cries every time I hear this. RIP Keith!! Always be remembered!!
He is in the HOF now
What a true country voice. Gone way to soon but not forgotten.
So glad Keith will be inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022!!!!!
Wow the Eighties brought us so much talent! No one sounds like Keith Whitley! You can hear and feel the emotion in the music he left behind! Beautiful!
I have been listening to country music for most of my 63 years and I can truly say Keith Whitley is my all time favorite. I (as many) was crushed when I heard of his death. There will never be another who can compare to his wonderful voice. I said at the time " Keith, you had so many more songs to sing to me." He will always be missed.
My all time favorite singer

If hadn't died at such a young age while hitting his prime, he'd be known as the GOAT. Has a way better overall voice and more soul than George Strait, and I'm a huge George fan, but he's no Keith. People who know all about Keith know this without a doubt. BTW I was born a few months after he passed. Shows how great he was!
That is what Country Music should sound like- What a Great voice- I can listen to this hours a week.

I’m a huge fan. But best ever? That’s too far
Sounds like we love the same music...who else you listen too...
I don't think that's so unusual, for an African American woman to love Keith Whitley. Any heart knows what it likes, no matter where it comes from or what body it's in. God bless you!
I know this comment is old but I’m half black and I appreciate Keith Whitley because my dad is a white man who is one year older than Keith was. He grew up in the south and he always played country music.
You love Keith Whitley because you love good talent 😊
Not a day goes by that I don't wonder what he could have done for country music. Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for more!
I love Keith's voice. Rest in peace. You are missed!!
Simply the best country music singer ever.
He feels his music and delivers that soulful sound. Rip KW 😭
As a Native American Indian woman, I never get tied of listening to Mr Whitley cuz my son is living a life identical to Mr Whitley's. I pray everyday for the great Creator to change our lives for the better life without the liquor and the heartaches it causes. May Mr Whitley RIP. 9:52
Name one singer today who could sing with this much conviction, and talent. Without the help of studio dubbing. No one
gary tye The closest is probably Davis Daniel and he's not around anymore
Jon Pardi is close but even he'd he bow down to Keith Whitley
George strait
timothy stewart as great as the 👑 is, I think Whitley was the better singer
gary tye I've recent discovered Sturgil Simpson and wow! He is similar to Keith at times. Check him out : ) I hate most new country but Sturgil is great!!!
His voice was so smooth, no one like him!! Play his stuff all the time even now. I guess he's not really gone if we do that?
Never gone...his music keeps him alive. ;)

That's right
Nobody 's ever lost if you know where they are. God put him to rest
He is to country music what Whitney Houston was to pop.
Geez … it gave people chills the day it came out , it gives you chills tonight . Absolutely haunting song and talent .
Keith Whitley had a God- given voice. Nobody from his Era could hang with him. His range was incredible and his ability to play a variety of instruments as good as any studio musician was impeccable. He was just starting to reach his prime when tragedy took him from us. He had played music and sang all of his life and should be a Hall of Fame Member to say the least. His music lives on , and the memory of his Beautiful Voice will never be forgotten ! ❤ GOD gained another Choir Member !
Prayers for all family and friends of this Wonderful Talented Legend ! 🙏
So sad that he left this world much too soon....such a rich, beautiful voice...
There should be a major motion picture made that tells his story.
God please no. I’m a massive Keith Whitley Fan, but no more biopics.. after Walk the Line came out (great movie) seemed like everyone and their mother wanted to do a biopic. Some things are best left alone, and the legendary KW is one that shouldn’t be touched by Hollywood in my humble opinion. It should stay country music lore / legend
@@BBPalmer420 they actually were going to do one had it planned and everything but something happened with the money I believe and you're correct about walk the line every now seems to want a movie now
@@BBPalmer420 IF the movie would be done right, perhaps yes, otherwise NO! I like the Walk The Line pic, well done, but dislike the ones done on Hank Williams, very bad!!! All of them, shamefull.

Yes their does need a movie about Keith
He had just started his way to greatness, the best male voice in true country music to date! He sang and played...not hooked up to a computer to make music! Such a loss!!!

It was this song and Keith who brought me to country music. I didn't like country before Keith. I don't listen to country much anymore because it seems to me to have lost its soul -- am so glad to discover Keith online and have since bought almost all of his albums -- they don't leave my player. He is missed, even 26 years later. Wish we had more of his music and voice, but am glad that we at least have what we have. Someone went in and took some of his demos and erased everything on them but Keith's voice, and then hired band and singers to fill in -- they are wonderful, and I want to thank the person who made this possible, whoever you.
Evry time I hear Keith Whitley sing It is amazing, Still so many years later his death still makes me sad. RIP Keith.
