I said the same thing at 22 years old to an ex GF who said, "we're going to Six Flags" many years later here I am; a coaster enthusiast and looking forward to my next ride on Steel Vengence
Petman1325 No, this was the only coaster on Funtown Pier to survive both the hurriane and the subsequent fire. It was put into storage by the owners. There was a rumor that it was going to be sent to Casino Pier, but they built Hydrus instead.
@@mellowyellow6572 They did build Hydrus Instead, Ive ridden this thing. Scary as hell. Hydrus was needed, if your gonna charge the prices they do. It better be modern
Wish i could go back in time to when i had to stuff rocks in my shoes to ride this. Wasn’t the best rollercoaster but really brings back hardcore nostalgia now that its gone🥺
this is my home park and it was destroyed by hurricane Sandy I wish I could have rode this but I was to small to. at least I have six flags great adventure
Tj Samson no the whole coaster was destroyed after hurricane sandy along with most of the peir. The park was planning on replacing the peir by keeping some of the rides that were in good condition but then the peir caught fire and everything was ruined so they decided to remove the whole peir.
oO WILLAMZ It wasn’t the pier that caught fire In 2013. The fire was on the south end of the boardwalk just before seaside park. The pier that was is now casino pier which is towards the north side of seaside heights
@@ohhellnah9646 this was fun town, because of the hurricane a company couldnt keep its money so they did arson, but it ruined the whole fun town pier area. The area they are talking about is casino pier which wasnt affected except for the giant roller coaster in the ocean.
Also because there's a million comments saying the opposite, this ride AND the entire pier were destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. They weren't replaced with anything and weren't reopened. Sorry the encroachment of the ocean scares you so much you have to lie about it on the internet but you're actually just wrong. I'm saying this as a local.
The reason why I love your videos so much is because you talk while on the ride and make it funny...I say exactly the same stuff when I'm on a ride to try take my mind off of what's coming next haha :)
Wow, a Galaxi-style coaster that actually loops! I know about the Doppel Looping Coaster. Conklin Shows ( traveling carnival ) has it still, or had it, not sure if they still have it. It had 2 loops in it, and i heard took 2 weeks to set up for the larger Fairs where they went / played.
I was there a few days ago. Casino pier is currently being reconstructed and the funtown pier is completely gone. Only thing standing at funtown is the bungee jump towers. No signs of it being worked on either. Only ride at all running at seaside is the merry go round.
I dont know where you are from but I grew up in the area and also know that the coaster on the devastated casino pier at the north end of the boardwalk ( the one the whole country has seen on the news currently sitting in the water) is the Jet Star!
I was on this years ago, before kids, and what I remember most were the shoulder bars digging in on the loop and hitting my head on the overhead bar. It wasn't one of my favorite rides.
Sadly, there is just no way you can beat weather, if there was any way to stop this hurricane I would try and stop it. All of my precious childhood memories were from there.
No SDC, Pinfari or Interpark was ever meant to feature an inversion. Somehow I survived this thing in 2003. Just watching that first train snap through the transitions.... Anyways RIP Funtown Pier. 2012 was not kind to east coast parks.
R.I.P Jershey Shore Boardwalk.......Damn you hurricane sandy for lifting the water 50 ft higher that day completely annihilating the boardwalk and 10 people :(
@@georgesealy4706 No ... you're thinking of the coaster on the northern pier. This one was dismantled along with all the other rides. Then the pier burned down. It was severely damaged by Sandy, though.
About 15 years ago I went on this coaster, alone. There was no one else riding. My car got stuck on the top on a bend which was jutting out over the ocean. The wind was blowing and the track was shaking. Yes, I was scared. They sent a man up (he climbed a ladder) to give me a push. I went a few feet and got stuck again. Another push and I was down the hill and over the loop. I was just afraid I'd get stuck upside down in the loop. It was a frightening experience!
This is NOT the coaster that dropped into the water during the storm! The one thats in the water is the Jet Star at Casino Pier....not this one. Also note that the one in the water has no loops. Open your eyes people!
This was the first “real” roller coaster I ever went on. Bragged to everyone in school about riding it. Great memories of this place.
I said the same thing at 22 years old to an ex GF who said, "we're going to Six Flags" many years later here I am; a coaster enthusiast and looking forward to my next ride on Steel Vengence
These things seem a lot scarier than big modern steel coasters. They're so cheap and rickety looking you'd swear they could collapse at any time.
If it makes you feel any better, it's currently in the Atlantic Ocean.

Hey he has survived the most dilapidated coasters in history in Japan so there's no way he was going to die on this one lol

This looks like one of those coasters in China that's held together by rust and hope.
TheRealConcertKing ha ha yeah
Rust and hope😂🤣
Well, it's gone now.
Rust,Hope and one item you forgot Weeds.I have seen other coasters Robb has been on in China and most have weeds.
😂😂😅😅🤣🤣👏👏👍👍
This was my first coaster ever... Now it's gone thanks to sandy. I have so many childhood memories of this place.
Gone but not forgotten.

the commentary is fucking gold

Hard to believe it is all gone now.
This coaster got destroyed in a hurricane
No. Because of its unpopularity the park dismatled the Ride

No. The one that got destroyed had a different colour scheme and no inversions.

I’m so thankful I got to ride this and also have it be my first roller coaster

Alright guys, social experiment time!
Does this ride go upside down?
Yea It Has A Loop
+TheJewelOfJool Yes, but it doesn't have any inversions.
TheJewelOfJool Yes.
Are you shrooming?
BarelyACanuck yea a vertical loop is an inversion
Looks fun to me! There is a certain charm to rickety looking rides that theme park monstrosities can never have.
Gotta love the old Pinfari rides. Sketchy as all hell.
"What's going through your mind, Chris?"
"How much I love you, Robb."
Well captured.

Was such a beautiful location for a coaster. Glad you got such great footage of it. Hopefully they can rebuild someday.
Looping of them all!
Your commentary on the rollercoaster cracks me up!! You guys are funny!
This reminded me of the time I was on Tigg’rr at Indiana beach and the rear axle snapped. Forever scared from any jet star model 😂
Omg I saw the go carts in the video they have gotten so much better
you should back to casino pier! it's completly and funtown is gone.

Good news. Park will be rebuilt. In related news this coaster was removed by management and not by Superstorm Sandy.
remember looking out into ocean. . .NOW the ocean took everything away :/
when funtown reopens it should have a big time coaster like an slc or wooden coaster these little ones don't tickle my stomach

hahaha. omg. So many times I've been to Seaside and I have NEVER wanted to ride that. With good reason, it seems.

Chris: "That was horrible!"
Who are we supposed to believe?! D:
No. They're at the other end of the boardwalk. That's a really awesome pizza place called the Sawmill.
You guys are funny!🙂🙂 Glad you survived the ride.
Hurricane Sandy was a hurricane that rivaled Katrina in damages, so it will be a LONG time before this place is repaired.
R.I.P Jershey Shore Boardwalk.......Damn you hurricane sandy for lifting the water 50 ft higher that day completely annihilating the boardwalk and 10 people :(
There's one just like this only a little smaller called the looper star in Ocean City MD on the boardwalk.
I love how rob was all scared and then he says that wasn't bad RIP
You're right! This funtown pier closed in 2012
Yeah, this coaster was out in the Atlantic after the hurricane came through.
