    Next time youre in Norway i highly recommend using the self bag drop, as there are plenty of them. You dont need to talk to anyone at norwegian airports before security in most cases 😅

      @@Travelog In Oslo, you can even do the bag registration and get the luggage tag on the airport train shuttle, thus even skip the self-service kiosk at the airport and go straight to bag drop.

    Fantastic airline and amazing pilots. Flew them since the late 1970s to the Lofoten islands on the very small Twin Otter Bombardier,fantastic memories,that airline could land on a stamp !!

    You know you could use the self drop? You did not have to check in manually. Use the self kiosks, and then the self drop lol.

    Self check in is a thing in Norway... most norwegians just like do to everything themself... just show boarding pass/ID and just walk on the plane... Domestic flights in Norway is carefree just like taking the train... You don't need to talk to anyone until you actually board the plane...

      I did check in online though. Had my boarding pass. I needed to check my bag though. I didn’t see a self bag drop, so simply followed the signs on the board to the desk…

      @@Travelog there are prob 100 self check ins at OSL, and a lot of bag -drops. The smallest airports, widerøe is more like a bus than a plane, not always bagdrop, and can open very late, but thats good if you are running late

    From your accent I can tell you're from across the pond. As airport self-service solutions are underdeveloped over there, although it's changing, I guess you can be excused for thinking you had to go to a manual check-in desk at OSL, but that's of course not the case. Not every airline offers self-service options, but most European carriers with a normal scheduled service do at OSL. The next time you're at OSL, or most modern airports, you should look for these services first (not hard to find), and only go to a manual check-in desk if there is specific reason to do so. That's what experienced travelers do.

    In Bodø the military side is to be demolished to move the airport to that side. This is to expand the city.
    Widerøes hub is also located in Bodø

    Only used them once, and they lost my luggage 3 weeks ago tomorrow. Most is replaceable but i had a borrowed medical device in it. Have heard so little back from them. My luggage is in Haugesund or Bergen airport. Green, hard shell.

    Widerøe is special, not weird. It more or less operates as a ‘milk run’ to places where ground transport is dufficult and/or cumbersome. So it’s informal, a bit rough & ready, but professional and hugely popular. Perhaps tune down the tourist whining a bit?

    My experience. Widerøe dash 8 pilots. They will try to fly in any conditions. So if flights are grounded and Widerøe still flying. Expect entertainment on all levels including a dear devel in flight service. 😂

    Slightly harsh but reasonable review of them. You should probably credit CD PROJEKT RED for using the Witcher3 soundtrack in your video.

    They have the best pilots. Always flying in bad weather. And you get a free chocolate.

    6:01 to 6:06, that sounds like Swedish not Norwegian. I should know, since I'm unfortunately Swedish.

      It's a Norwegian dialect - the audio for the safety briefing is a recording, so it's always the same voice. I fly Widerøe at least two or three times per year, so I've heard it several times

    I have flown from Bodø to Leknes last year on June to visit Lofoten and it was the shortest and most scenic flight in my life , YES LOFOTEN ISLANDS ARE INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL ! ❤

      It’s a rather positive review…what exactly did I complain about? For sure I’ll complain when airlines deserve it, but of all my videos, it’s odd that that’s your takeaway…

      @@Travelog I have to agree to some extent with 1844, you are complaining a little bit to much for it to be as positive as you say in the end. Being a Norwegian, born and raised in Lofoten I know Widerøe quite well. In fact, you can see our old house in the video, during the landing in Leknes.
      Without them, living on the coast of Norway would be more difficult. Widerøe connects Norway in a way hard to describe. It's comparable to Hurtigruten, just quicker. A few minutes late is nothing, we rather take 10 min late than not at all any day. Life outside the big cities is more relaxed, as you could see in the Leknes Airport. With few passengers you do not need to go through security 1 hour before.
      You mention the saying about Norwegian, SAS and Widerøe.
      Back in the day there was an airline called Braathens S.A.F.E (taken over by SAS), and this saying was like this:
      If the weather gets bad, first SAS stops flying, then Braathens stops flying. When it gets too bad, the seagulls stop flying, and if it gets worse, Widerøe stops flying.
      In around 1990 I was flying from Bodø to Svolvær (SVJ) in a DHC-6 Twin Otter, and there was quite a lot of wind. We were landing from the north (Runway 19), and we took the second exit off the runway (It was only 2 back then, the northern most taxiway shown on google maps is added later).
      I do not know the wind speed or exactly where we landed, but as you can see on maps, it's a short distance. I actually stayed at the airport for the takeoff, just to see how short it was. And it was short, it seemed like the plane almost went straight up instead of forward.

It's just that us Norwegians tend to feel we have exclusive rights to say anything even remoptely bad about Norway. 😛 If you had given Widerøe a glowing review, the comment field had been crammed full of complaints from Norwegians how bad the airline is. 😉

      I wasn’t referring to their actual cancellation rate, but rather an expression about the confidence of their pilots. Source: some Norwegian friends of mine.
