the fast-cut editing makes this feel like a weird nightmare where the evil waiter is trying to "feed you to death" with an infinite course meal that never ends.

fine dinning isn’t about getting stuffed or even being full, it’s about the experience. If you think that is pretentious you’re probably a uninformed proletarian
@@YOLO-sp5bi so how can an culinary experience be pretentious? Don't think you got it

Nope :)
Don't worry, they only feed their poultry to death forcefully.
I have the utmost respect for such waiters where they remember each component of each dish and recommend the best way to have a certain dish. I know its what all top notch restaurants drill into their waiters but I'm still amazed at how much Info they can compress and remember. I can't even remember what happened last week in my life
Yes. That's so true
practice is the key, i think they practice it
Immediately after watching this video, debt collectors began calling me.
I'm too broke to even be watching this

Everything looks delicious but I gotta say, foams have to be the most overused texture in fine dining. Yes, it tastes brilliant and it's a cool change of texture in an appetizer here and there, but having almost every course topped by some formless lump just isn't very nice if you ask me. What's the good reason to have the Ravioli topped with foam instead of mushroom sauce?
@Zia Combs But it's not hard to make, you just blow some gas into your sauce. I bet they designed this menu so they could sniff N2O between all courses. Cheeky bastards.
Foams are normally used for texture and intensity. And it isn't as straightforward as you say it is. As 75% of your taste is decided by your nose, it does make a big difference for the overall experience 😉.
@@bart5292 Why is that? I never noticed a more intensive smell in a foam than in a sauce, in fact, the opposite. I'm not saying foams are bad, I'm saying they're overused and I definitely wouldn't want to have them replacing sauces as the primary flavoring as is the case here. In my opinion, they're visually unappealing and don't offer the rich and concentrated experience that a sauce does. They're great for salads and some pasta dishes and overall as an additional texture that can be used in a meal, but I just don't think they should be used this much.
Agreed! And that's from someone who travels for food! I'm getting soooo tired of foams everywhere!
SpaghettiToaster good call
I really like how he gives recommendations on how to eat it. A lot of the time these fancy dishes look great but aren't that practical to actually eat, so it's good that he shows they've already thought about it properly.

BIOLOGICAL TOMATO
NANANANANANANA
BIOLOGICAL TOMATO
It directly means "Organic". In most languages, "Organic" is translated as "Biologic", such as French "Biologique". Furthermore, in Europe, "Biological" in English is used to describe "Organic" fruits, vegetables, and meats. This means they meet certain requirements set forth by their respective governments, including no pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, minimal processing, etc. So in this case, Biological Tomato means Organic Tomato.

Imagine if this guy defines every meal in your life
"We have thee burger of cheese from the good McDonalds with da fries of France and de ketchup. We have the burger come with onions of grill and the sesame seed bun on top. Excuse me, madam, apologies, but the burger of cheese has arrived with no cheese - Chef's choice tonight. And let me dump the last three fries of France from inside the bag onto your plate. We also have tiny paper packets of pepper and not Himalayan, but regular, salt. Here also is your beverage. As per your request, we have meant to bring you a Diet Coke but it seems again that the Chef has chosen Sprite for you. I recommend remove lid and pour soda into sink and retrieve diet Coke from own refrigerator. Good evening."
An outstanding set menu. Every single dish, including the bread and butter, looked exquisite.
I enjoyed a few things about this video. First, I appreciate the fact that the video is short yet densely packed with visuals and information. Having a view of the restaurant's interior space, even including the kitchen, is also a plus. (Some Michelin visit vlogs do not show the restaurant's environment.) Similarly, glimpses of the staff and, most of all, the clientele, puts vlogs like this one high ranked. (Again, some vlogs do not show staff and clientele.) Loved it.
The more stars you have the less food you get
The more expensive it is
Lol
That was a lot of food.
You are wrong
Its a tasting menu, its supposed to have only a small portion so you can have a taste. There are also bigger portions if you like
The most impressive thing in this, was the host. I assume there were other tasting courses and memorizing all of it along with the excellent service displayed is something one should be very prideful of. I also wish my local Denny's waiter knew what was in the omelets to this degree.

Why did they have to use the *Japanese word "shiso"* for it since *Spanish* already has the word *"perilla"* (which is also in English)?
rich people love their fancy words
@@YOLO-sp5bi If you think the ingredients to this meal are only $20 you may have a learning disability.
@@YOLO-sp5bi It really bothers me for some reason that people don't understand why these meals cost so much money. The ingredients do cost a significant amount of money, developing the courses costs a a lot of time and money for testing, and having some of the best chefs in the world cook for you will obviously be expensive.
Biological tomato? As opposed to what? Technological?
Levi Skardsen organic
In some countrys we call food with pesticides from natures sources biological. Organic means without any pesticides just good soil.
Are you American? Cause in some countries you say biological. The opposite of Genetically modified
industrial tomatoes
Biological means like different colour, from different countries, different flavours and different techniques they put in
I got some good ideas from this, beetroot butter and pistachio sponge cake sounds cool.

Leaving for Spain and Portugal in under a week; can't wait to go back! We've reservations at a Michelin-starred restaurant in San Sebastian and look forward to eating and drinking our way through San Sebastian, Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona. Then on to Munich for Weiß-bier und Weißwürste and then Scandinavia for smørebrød and gravad lax! This video makes my cabin-fever worse, but the solution is near at hand! Going home and eating well; awesome! Good meals and good drink; some wines, beers and single malts I've had for instance, really add to the quality of life. I can't always remember what I did on holidays or work-trips, but I can remember a pint of beer I had somewhere on tour in England with a buddy, or a meal I had in Cornwall decades ago! Quality of life.. The meal in this video is easily in the $250-450 range. per person. If not more.
