- I'm back! I did a cozy, simple project that captures medieval aesthetics, but I didn't break my neck on the historical accuracy this time. Sometimes you need to remind yourself that hobbies are fun.

Welcome back!!! I love the color and the embroidery!
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed creating the aesthetics for this one... Doubted myself a few times along the way, but it came together. A lesson in trusting the process haha
Historically plausible sounds perfect to me. Love the full finger thimble. The outfit came together beautifully. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks.
Thanks~ it's a leather working thimble because I keep losing my small one, haha
So glad to see you back! ❤
Thank you! I'm so glad to be able to create again.
I think the whole look is beautiful
Thank you!
I've missed your videos! 💚
That's so nice to hear... I've missed making them too
I don't know why they wouldn't have hidden pleats in gores. There's extant contemporary Scandinavian pleating and Romans pleated the heck out of stuff. I'm 100% sure Early English sewists knew of it and used it. It'd make sense to add pleats for youths clothing so you could let it out without a total remake. So I'd argue in favor of streamlined swish that early.
Exactly, some historical customers are very strict about recreation, but since I'm not doing this for a museum or textbook, or something similar, in most cases finding plausible solutions is good enough.
@@OdessaDenby so you totally got me thinking and I'm going to try a pleated gore on the back of my sister's tunics. She has CP and is in a chair full time, so there's a lot of sliding and pulling out the points on gores. We don't need as much fullness at the hem that a bigger gore would cause... wheel hazard. I think I could throw in a pleat and bar tack on the inside and it'd provide the ease and be much sturdier. Thanks for the inspiration!
@@jleer6178 that sounds like a possible solution! I hope the works for her so she can enjoy being costumed without unnecessary hazard
