Grew up eating mullet as a kid we ate it smoked from time to time but mainly fried it helped fill in the lean times when money was scarce for my Dad still fish for them when they ball up in the winter there's not alot of money in it but it helps keep the lights on and maintains the old Florida tradition great video nice to see them banging the net when you're hauling them in that means it was a great throw new sub
Thanks for sharing that recipe, video reminded me of back in the seventies when we lived in Jacksonville Florida and we would go to the jetties and we catch coolers full of mullet someone gets smoked someone get fried and we always fried eggs and the gizzards another great video man
This brings back memories, ate so much smoke mullet in the 70s, fish dip was going down. Smoked mullet by far is one of my favorites. Think there's still a real popular place in Samsula, couple places in Volusia county you can still get it. Don't see many big mullet in the Indian River here in Brevard. Great job all around bro 💪🏼👍🏼
Can you do it with other fish???? like, tuna, swordfish, snapper, shellfish, ect... you have a great throw of your cast net, you're cleaning skills are top notch.... thanks for all you do and I will forward to seeing what you can do next....
Last time I went to catch mullet at Ponce inlet, I caught a couple of 5lb. trout mixed in with the mullet! Why don't you remove the roe first before filleting the mullet?
Great show Aquaman, will be subscribing. Your cast net sounds different? Where in Florida are you? Looking forward to viewing your next episode! Thanks for sharing with us
Fun Facts Valencia Spain is the only town in Europe with a natural reserve in it and also is the capital of Paella rice polluted with mullet the mild weather let anyone harvest and enjoy this fish deep fried Also in Peru salted mullet is the Xmas favorite
Love your videos. Good stuff. Quick question how long did it take the mullet to smoke? I’m in South Florida, I do a lot of flats fishing and see millions of mullet, but normally just go move on! The net is in the boat now!😂

Shoot, I thought I got tired after throwing net for bait. Respects, that custom you have right there has got to be at least 10 lbs.
