Yes Amira is all grown up now! It was interesting to hear what she said about her singing and the interaction of the audiences - many similarities with Angelina Jordan - how her singing can make people cry or make them happy - how it promotes hope and love. I have so much respect for this new generation, how they can make the world a better place. Amira's playgrounds will have such a great impact on the children in the townships.
I don't get the obsession so many people have with Angelina Jordan sorry, she is an Amy Winehouse wannabe. Amira is unique as is Lucy Thomas and Jonathan Antoine, these are the greatest young singers in the world today infact their the greatest of all singers irrespective of age and are already amongst the best ever.

Secondly, all singers you mention are great singers on their own, but we shouldn´t compare or play them out against each other. Thirdly, Angelina is not a Amy wannabe, she developed her own unique style of music as you can listen in her latest work. She admires Amy, loves her music, and - as she does with other artists -, doesn´t copy directly, but honors them by integrating certain aspects of her singing style into her covers.
I wanted to live long enough to see this wonderful girl mature but I didn't hold out much hope this wonderful look at her as an 18 year old has put a smile on my face that is there for life.

And that are only 2 copies of this ausition. There are much more with millions of views... The makers of this interview could do their homework better....just do the same as Amira and be outstanding in your work. (I know that those 20 million views were already reached in only a couple of days after the audition....and also I tried to find Amira's performances whenever possible since that audition ....and also remembering one on the street in Belgium ...also with a few million views already....search on Amira and Vincent von Hessen to find it)

The lst time l hersd this " little child" singing when she was 9, l was her fan!!! Although l am living in South Africa, we came from Holland by boat at 9 years. Amira has amazing control, tone, range, and quality. She had all this at nine years old and nothing is forced. Her voice keeps ringing in the ears long after the song is over. I have heard some voice coaches not very accepting of her talent at this age afraid that her voice will give out early. Some other opera amateur aficionados denigrate her for not having the experience of a Callas or Sissle so they do not consider her in the same class. But I just have to say that to be able to sing arias with the best of them without effort is a great achievement. I hope she sticks with classical music and POPera, I do not want her to become the fat lady that sings at the end of an opera. The opera elite do not deserve her.
