Thanks for a great, Full On Retro O-ring video! And WOW, we are incredibly humbled and so appreciative of you naming our ROBOSKULL MKII your "TOY OF YEAR"! Thank You!!!! 🏴☠
I sure want o ring back for the GI Joe line. I feel left out all these years with just classified GI Joes, which I do not collect. Even the recent Joe anniversary was very bitter with no line to collect.
O-rings are one of the most unexpected and pleasant revivals to show up. In terms of nostalgia for figures, it started to feel like we were missing the window for o-rings. Heck, we're to a point that even early 2000s figures are starting to be reissued (see: Ninja Turtles as a prime example). So o-rings, which to me seemed to hit their peak in the late 80s and early 90s seemed to be out the window.
Thank you for the reviews, Dan! Just want to say the Wolf Trooper is specifically an homage to the original Roboskull pilot, Red Wolf from Palitoy. A little harder to find, but that shoulder armor gives it away.
Interesting for me, I’ve gone through a MOTU ORIGINS renaissance! I grew up with Joe that’s my #1 Flint is my favorite, but one thing that got irritating for me was seeing my joes falling apart each time cause of the o ring deteriorating, even though i replaced it with brand new o rings they constantly would fall apart. I fell in love with MOTU cause of the bright colors and big muscle figures. It’s really weird but I’ve sold most of my joes and have gone all in on MOTU ORIGINS. Love seeing you cover O Rings Dan!
Great video and encouraging content. Makes me even more excited for what's to come in 2025! With so much going on from different companies, I had no idea that these lines were out there. Thx again!
I wasn’t a fan of 3 3/4” figures as a kid and I’m still not a fan as an adult. They always felt so small and wimpy compared to my 5.5” muscle-bound figures. I am appreciating the larger scale GI Joe Classified line.
I see what you mean in regards to that Super7 Snake Eyes. He's very tubular in the limbs. The sculpt is soft when those old GI Joe O-Ring figures really were not. I guess it's intentional since they maintained that ReAction branding, but it's not the approach I want, personally. The BAT looks much better.
O rings need to be half the price of a 12 inch for them to be popular again. Unfortunately, with the money 3rd party companies are paying to Hasbro for using the IP is what is going to kill it.
It's a little funny how modern stuff is labelled as "an homage or inspired by" and vintage stuff is simply branded as being a "knockoff or bootleg". At the end of the day, they're basically the same thing.
It’s so funny that there are these high quality versions of the old toy lines that tried to cash-in on the Joe craze in 1980s. There’s also new homage to MOTU knock-offs, Legends of Dragonore.
Strike Force Alpha is hands down some of THE BEST new o-rings on the market. They were first to get their figs out to the fans and they figs feel heavy and amazing in the hand.
The Skeletron type figures look cool. I backed Longbow. Ghost looks really great and glows according to the new email ha ha. I can't wait for the next figure. I only preordered 2. The Delta 17 figures look great too.
I've got the Delta 17 figures and they're great. I'm really excited about this line. I've also got Ghost and I'm excited about the Longbow line as well. What I've seen of Operation Recall looks great. I've got the Super7 Wave 1 figures but I wish they would stick more to GI Joe and Cobra figures. They've got a couple of one episode figures coming in Wave 2 that I think I'll pass on.
Growing up with o ring joes being my all time favorite, I'll always love and want o ring. Have tons in my collection and it's cool to pair them up with the classified counterparts. For me anyway. Lol
O-rings are my favorite. When they announced 6 inch GIJoes, I thought "That will never work; the fans won't embrace them." And then they did. That really surprised me. I'd rather have more 3 3/4" or at least the 2007 25th anniversary style 4"ers. You'd think in this economy, smaller = cheaper and therefore better in the eyes of cash strapped fans, but somehow 6" became the default. But with Hasbro doing the Ghostbusters in o-ring, I hope more brands will find their way to that form factor.
I have ReAction+ Snake Eyes and Cover Girl. They’re fine, I got them on sale. They look like Super7 used the standard head and toros from ReAction and then made new articulated limbs. All of those Kickstarter companies making o-ring figures appear to have been a response to the lack of new figures from Hasbro and how disappointing Super7’s five-poa G.I. Joe’s were to fans. For G.I. Joe, in that scale, it was such a step backwards.
I don’t know about the market, but I still do. I can’t stand these “dolls” that are on the market these days. Unfortunately I also refuse to pay these ridiculous prices.
Hasbro is leaving a bunch of money on the table if they don’t do more O ring stuff. I’d love an MMPR set. They could do Star Wars, Marvel and Indiana Jones stuff. Sky’s the limit.
They tried with some of the O-Ring reissues, and then the HasLab Skystriker. They didn’t seem to sell as well as Hasbro wanted. So the line was combined with those GI Joe Transformers line.
Delta17 is the best. Big bad toy store is not giving me updates on where my ghost buster action figures are. So not happy with that at all. Very bad customer service as I have asked them twice and still no answer to where my package is since it is tracked. In the navy o ring figures you missed as well. Very cool they have 6 out already and another 10 on the way. I backed them. Call sign longbow will be out come spring and operation recall the same guys that made GIJoe also are making operation recall o ring line from Carson 3D Joes so you have a few lines that have some of the same guys that worked on GIJoe figures. So it’s super awesome 😎

The Skeletron, Callsign Longbow and Delta17 are the best. Strike Force Alpha is ok but the plastic has a kind of knock off feel. And Super 7's GI JOE? Too late to the game. Hasbro should have just let Brian Flynn do O-ring Joe from the start.
There should have been some news of new figures from Super7 by now. I doubt it lasts beyond three waves. It’s like they can’t handle an in-between line like o-ring figures. Super7 is used to cheapo five poa ReAction or expensive Ultimates.
@@mikekz4489 Yes. I'm surprised that Wave 2 wasn't announced yet. Unless it's part of their stupid in stock only plan (which didn't work for the Hasbro Star Wars team).
I like modern tvc’s but not new figs made to look vintage, like the 4 pack of ghost busters but im not the majority vote. If there wasn’t market, then toy companies would not make em’. Some look cool
My biggest problem with smaller scales is that my eyes have literally gotten to bad for things like classic Joes and vintage Star Wars. Like it's literally uncomfortable to hold a 4 inch toy and look at it without wearing readers.
I’ve seen a lot of people say the price for new 3-3/4 is to high, but when I go to toy shows If there’s an 80’s or even a 90/2000’s joe I want from my childhood they are always 20/30 or more. So makes no difference to me. I say bring on more new stuff! I wish Lanard Corps would hop on the o ring comeback
