We were there, from Alaska. The snowy mountain visuals looked like home... more fun than a frog in a glass of milk ;O) My first Dead shows were Solstice weekend, West High School Auditorium, Anchorage Alaska 1980.

I haven’t been to any concerts just before Jerry left us because big Steve kicked me out because I made Jerry late to get back on stage but he didn’t want to go or leave me that’s y he locked the door ! This was at the end of the 80 s which they played better then they ever did ! We took care of them in whatever was needed ! Bobby loved my niece plus Jerry loved me ! He died of a broken heart ! That Debra coons was a bad girl but he did have a daughter with her + put her to art school in London ! Yet she got what was left 5 million dollars + mountain girl got 1*5000 million or one + half million !
Man, I'm from Brazil. Love the Dead and I agree with you.. and it's sad they never came to my country.. but this shows at sphere are the most amazing thing I've ever seen
hi Mike! we too!! fantastic shows! my first Dead shows were Solstice weekend, West High School Auditorium, Anchorage Alaska 1980. Our Solstice Sphere shows - with my 22 yo Jerry guitar channeling deadhead son were just brilliant ;O) I saw Jerry and my kid wasn't alive to see and hear him - so the heck with the haters. Oh man that was so great
I was going to, and that was the plan, take a couple grams before the show... soooo glad that I didn't! On what would have been the best experience of my life, could have been the worst experience of my life, when security would have found my friend's concealed gun, which he thought would be no big issue. Fortunately, I was in a clear state and was able to deal with that fiasco. You will have the best time ever. It was so beautiful. Nobody's video of this on the inside can do it any justice to seeing it in person!
@Tio-Benny I had done that, too, here and there, due to advance work curating the content and the ol copy paste to be expedient. It's always easy to correct.

Wish they would put out official videos that show the what the show is like. They could stream it as it's going live or sell it later on. Would love to see this entire show, but can't make it out there. Would loved to have seen other bands that have played there too.

Good Lord listen carefully to the guy just running his mouth the whole fucking time. I have no idea why these people think someone wants to listen to them instead of the band they paid $300 and lodging and travel for. I wish they had a section for people who just wanted to listen to the music and enjoy it and people who wanna run their mouth the whole time.
haha - I was there and didn't partake. I felt that the experience itself didn't need embellishment - i felt high as hell and was sober as a churchmouse

awww geeze - would you ppl just give it a rest already? I saw Jerry and I love this interpretation of the amazing music. Go play with your tapes. Solstice Sphere and Gorge Amphitheatre 2023
the Sphere is amazing and Mayer is amazing on guitar. But the song is not that great. Its repetitive lyrics and weak vocals. Legendary as the Dead are they likely would not make it in today’s world of music. Maybe not a popular opinion with their life long fans but it’s reality.
You genuinely do not understand what makes music good or not if you think the Dead "would not make it today" in this world of dime a dozen cookie cutter crap. Robert Hunter would be revered as the greatest songwriter of them all were he being weighed against the morons writing songs today. Unfortunately for him he had to compete against the likes of Lennon, Taupin, and Carole King - and still holds his own
The Sphere has changed concerts forever! It's such an amazing experience!!
I fully agree.
Sadly enough, I live in The Netherlands. But these videos are fantastic.
understatement of the century. the sphere is a real life acid trip.

I played hockey there 1981 for Bloomfield. Chilkoot Charlie's! And the White Spot!
I was there, physically at least. Thanks for the work to get us such a good clip of a truly great night.

I was at that show. Went to all 3 that weekend. 133 34 and 35th time. Saw Jerry 73 times, definitely not ot the same vibe w out Jerry or Brent there.

We're going this Friday July 6th. Never been to the Sphere, so this will be awesome!
Thank you so much for posting this! Just fyi it’s from the night of the 21st (I was there my birthday and found this that night) such an amazing night

One of the best bands ever.
THE best band ever
Cant believe i never knew about the rapping before today. Still unsure about it. But 7 consecutive replays later and im still watching 😂
Psychedelic music + sphere = 😱🌌👨🚀
This was an epic show!!!!!
Great cinematography for us armchair space cadets!
💀🌹⚡️✌️
Thank you!! 🙏🙏🙏
Great camerawork. Felt like I was there
I was on other side, the part when the bears walked across the mountains was super trippy
The most amazing set!
I caught Mickey rapping this in May and loved it. Oomph vegas but I want more sphere!!
My god I can't even start to imagine what that must have been like, especially already tripping. WOW!
Not a single iris was visible that night
Have you seen the price for a ticket.. Holly COW!!!!

they have sports bars like this in texas where it feels like youre at the game.
Insane. 🤯❤️
I’ll never understand how people don’t know what the song is until they start to sing it.
Somehow in 2024 they have made a great song even better! The Dead never rests
Love this version but for me nobody did it better than JG
Wish I was there with a sheet of scrubby bubbles 🎉
Or at least some dancing bears
Perhaps some Cali sunshine or liquid 25 or purple pyramids
The dead brought me places l could never imagine I'm 59
I missed the true bus by 1
0 years but we managed to reconvert a 72 international school bus into a home❤❤❤
God bless the dead keep the music and dancing going forever in your 🥰

Had someone told me John Mayer would be playing in this band in 1999, when I was I well seasoned deadhead sibling. I would have said , I can see it .
Let Mickey sing!!
I wonder how many people in the audience were on acid lol
At least most 😮
Rephrase your question to make it easier..... who wasnt?

Literally tripping, sober. I mean that's if you go sober
Bill Kreuzmann seems missing.
I have heard it is issues between him and Mayer. Mayer wanted him to turn his drums down and Billy wasn’t having that from what I understand…
Wassup with the rapping?

I don’t do cid anymore. But if I did, this would be a sensory overload. And not a comfortable one. This concert tried WAYYYYY too hard
the rhythm just isn't "right"

@@SkiAlaska907 I absolutely agree. D&C is great! No doubt. Maybe it was the weekend. I don’t know.

A lot of new alt-country/outlaw singers and bands remind me of the Dead, so I think they would have done just fine.
