Just saw Stewart in concert in Erie, Pa with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. The show was insane, and Stewart killed it on the drums.
That was fantastic.
I was so anti this until i listened to it! it s truly fabulous dynamic mix of that song we all know and love, shows its true colors but with sense of respect for the old but a new creation and it works so well! Copeland you little drummer boy marvel !!!!!

Well if ever it was true about "leaving it to the drummer", this rendition of a Police classic tune is it. A version that refreshes & exceeds one of modern music's best-ever compositions was unexpected but wonderful. I guess I'm biased though: add strings to just about anything & I'm hooked. Outstanding job Stewart, & those singers are superb!

I was NOT expecting to like this. Just lovely stuff. The song remains dark, and a bit sad ... but this version is done with such beauty, almost like a gloss over darkness. Really amazing stuff, Mr. Copeland. I'm going to order the CD right now.

Amy Keys is the absolute perfect choice. She is so underrated.
Also Carmel Helene & Ashley Tamar Davis completes this beautiful version perfectly. I had to look them both up as I only knew Amy, I didn't know who the other 2 girls were or anything about them. Should of known who Ashley Tamar Davis was because of Beyonce & Prince.

Always a Police fan! My honest opinion of this record is that I really love the arrangements for each song. The women have very nice voices , but I would have enjoyed the arrangements without any singers. This has a Police the musical feel to it.

OMG - I saw you in an interview and (to be honest) I was never a huge Police fan) but you are the most delightfully honest, candid, fun and open rock personalities I have ever seem. Kudos to a new fan whether you like it or not. (more exploring to do)

It's a good song to begin with, but I like this version much more; the arrangement is quite interesting.

I love the strings, but I wish we could hear them better. I wish there were more mids overall, but that's the mixing engineer's decision. Big smiley face on that eq.
When Sting wrote the original demo version it had huge , synth generated swathes of strings on it but they all decided it didn't sound like The Police.

Having read a recent interview with Far Out where Stewart mentioned that a better arrangement for the original song with more "groove" should have been done, I wonder if this is in some aspects closer to the ideal vision he alluded to?

Amazing! Mr Copeland I've noticed your grip has changed from how you normally hold the stick, it's now resting on your ring finger instead of your middle, any reason why you prefer one grip over the other?
I was quite excited by the announcemente, but I honestly hope that not all songs will be sung this way. I hate when singers don't sing straight notes but "embellish" everyone of them (ie: Christina Aguilera).
He asked us to add our flair. If you noticed, we actually sing every single note the same. Stewart arranged the vocals to fit female parts and harmonies. But thanks for your feedback. Embellishments were on our sheet music too. So...

Good non use of the snare or non standard use ot very loosely tuned (i don't know the terminology) as it would overpower the other instruments and vocals. Coolness exemplified from The StewDaddy. 😊❤🎉
Have you always played traditional grip? I'm thinking you have. You're one of the best 3 of my favorite drummers (Copeland, Collins, Bonham).

I'm terrible and can't forgive messing with lyrics. The singer doesn't keep to the rhyme of the bridge. It should be 'trace, face, replace, embrace'. She sings 'embrace' instead of 'replace' 🙄 1:25

Huge respect for Stewart but should have been sting on vocals - the 40th anniversary of the song being released. Hats off to Stewart for trying his best but I’m extremely disappointed in Sting for now commemorating such a special year by reforming the band with Stewart and Andy. It deserves to be commemorated where making an effort to do so just shouldn’t have been an issue
