When Stings Dream of The Blue Turtles came out I was vacationing in London with my mother and sister, and watched on TV as Sting yells "what key is it in" I believe that single rpomotoed was Fortress around your Heart, then he just plays it. Watching Sting like that I knew I had to buy that album and I bought it and still have it. I have half the Police singles, mosty for the B-sides and I even got Landlord for 15UKP some 10-20 years ago from a very small shop in Hanway Street on another visit to London. (now extinct. tim decided to stop in 2012 having had the shop in the same spot since 1979).
Even having all albums on both cassette and vinyl I still bought the 4CD box set and even won two auctions on eBay to obtain the only two Police albums ever released in prerecorded open reel tape. So when I found the greatest hits Super Audio CD I naturally bought it but that one I do not have a player for.. Why? I buy because I love the music. I bought two LaserDisc videos with Police some years ago and still haven't found a player for them. Perhaps I should add 8-tracks to my collection as well. I did not get to see them on the anniversary tour in 2007/2008 because of work and bad timing. There are songs and versions of them that are not in the box set. it is not the difinitive studio song collection, but we're talking japanese b-sides so you'll be alright with the 4CD box set, if you can find a decent priced copy that is. All the important songs you remember are there.

Trios are an odd sort of band to be in. In most other bands I've been in, usually quartets, members tend to sort of pair off and hangout in twos. Usually the bass player and drummer tend to hangout together and the singer and lead guitarist hangout together, or some variation on that. Its like everybody's got their buddy in the band who they naturally gravitate towards... But that balance isn't there in a trio, and I've often found that trios tend to end up with two members constantly at each others throats, with one in the middle trying to keep the peace.
