I think I understand that last one. The Omega Flowey fight is its own save file, file 666. When you clear it, the game pulls up your actual save file, which is supposed to be set to the room after the fight. My guess is, since it's set in a room that that file shouldn't be able to access, it crashes.
You're actually a lot further off than you think: Flowey's fight doesn't take place in any FILE, it just uses the default initialization values. When you finish the fight, the game loads FILE8, which retains your progress as of the end of the Asgore fight so it can remember unsaved data. Only AFTER getting the ending and going back to the normal menu does it access your regular save, which is where you last saved before fighting Asgore. The only check preventing your save file from accessing rooms is the dogcheck script, and a game crash is unrelated. That's why the game goes to the dog screen at the end, that's a dogcheck occurring. The crash here is because the Frisk actor used is not the same Frisk actor used during normal gameplay, and the location the dialogue pop-up appears is based on the position of that normal actor. Since Frisk's object doesn't exist, the game never creates the text writer, resulting in a crash when attempting to access it

I dont think it would be interesting, I assume that the game's dialogues doesnt use a "So [Name], whats up" check, as you dont have a say in the name, so each dialogue has Clover's name built in it from its very core, so, if you change the name of the file or in battle, the characters will still call Clover by their name, if you change Clover's name in one dialogue, it wouldnt change in others, unless you use some program thing that its specifically made to replace every instant of Clover's name by something else, tho by this point its a full on mod is just wouldnt be the same thing as just breaking the game or making things that it wouldnt allow otherwise, it would be straight up a mod, like modding to create a new item, or new events, etc
I had the idea of picking up the save star and putting it down wherever you wanted to save for a fan game I want to make, just don’t know how you would code something like that into the game, it would probably have to be considered an item in your inventory for it to work this way though

I think I understand that last one. The Omega Flowey fight is its own save file, file 666. When you clear it, the game pulls up your actual save file, which is supposed to be set to the room after the fight. My guess is, since it's set in a room that that file shouldn't be able to access, it crashes.
You're actually a lot further off than you think: Flowey's fight doesn't take place in any FILE, it just uses the default initialization values. When you finish the fight, the game loads FILE8, which retains your progress as of the end of the Asgore fight so it can remember unsaved data. Only AFTER getting the ending and going back to the normal menu does it access your regular save, which is where you last saved before fighting Asgore.
The only check preventing your save file from accessing rooms is the dogcheck script, and a game crash is unrelated. That's why the game goes to the dog screen at the end, that's a dogcheck occurring.
The crash here is because the Frisk actor used is not the same Frisk actor used during normal gameplay, and the location the dialogue pop-up appears is based on the position of that normal actor. Since Frisk's object doesn't exist, the game never creates the text writer, resulting in a crash when attempting to access it

I dont think it would be interesting, I assume that the game's dialogues doesnt use a "So [Name], whats up" check, as you dont have a say in the name, so each dialogue has Clover's name built in it from its very core, so, if you change the name of the file or in battle, the characters will still call Clover by their name, if you change Clover's name in one dialogue, it wouldnt change in others, unless you use some program thing that its specifically made to replace every instant of Clover's name by something else, tho by this point its a full on mod is just wouldnt be the same thing as just breaking the game or making things that it wouldnt allow otherwise, it would be straight up a mod, like modding to create a new item, or new events, etc

its a way to stop the game from crashing if you try to load an area that doasnt exist,some unused areas have been blacklisted through dogcheck to stop others from accessing them
