What I really loved about this movie is how it's so.....real. It's not a sappy cheesy plot, it's about kids who feel like they don't matter and that their likes and interests are insignificant. The songs aren't cheesy or stupid they are so catchy and so amazing. I mean I feel like this is how all high-schoolers feel. Like if you're not a cheerleader or a football player, nobody notices you and you don't feel like you're important. And not to mention the individual struggles that each kid faces with their parent. Even though they're all different, in a way they all represent how kids feel like they're never going to be good enough for their parents and they're never going to do what their parents want them to do
I still come back to this movie coz it's a very good movie. And your message really is icing on the cake

I'm totally agree with you. As an outcast who suffered from bullying during my high school years (amd also school and kindergarden), I can tell you this movie always has been my favourite because of the reasons you said. It's so real and the music is so authentic. The most underrated movie of disney becuase is one of the best and people use to forget this movie on their top lists. Like you, I still watch this movie quite often and still listen to the songs almost everyday.

Let's real talk everyone.
This was a VERY underrated, yet very powerful, emotional, and overall moving movie.
It dealt with parental struggles, relationship struggles, having to face death and grieving as a child, bullying, and learning to love yourself all in the span of an hour.
Not to mention it produced what I consider some of the best Disney songs (sentimental-wise) of my generation.
This movie will never leave my mind or heart ❤️😌

i miss these disney days. i’m 20 now and kids are nothing like how we used to be. we’re the last ones who really experienced a true childhood. we weren’t introduced to social media straight out of the womb and glued to our phones making stupid tiktoks. we were out playing until the street lights came on having real adventures that kids nowadays don’t really experience which sucks. coming back to these videos gives me so much nostalgia

This movie really set a new bar for Disney channel originals. There isn’t a single song in this movie that wasn’t good, and the movie itself was far from a typical cheesy Disney original.
I think it's on par with Bridge to Terabithia with its writing.

True. Movies like Lemonade Mouth was kind of centred in a more realistic world like ours. Whereas Descendants takes place in an alternate universe similar to ours but also vastly different. Old DCOM movies had the more realistic feel compared to Descendants or Zombies. Teen Beach Movie gets excused because Brady and Mac's world is more rooted in ours than the Wet Side Story world. If this is all what you meant 😅

-I dont remember anymore movies like this but i also have to say that the storylines of this movies, characters, the songs the feelings the expressions everything was a whole diferent mood that literary draw a extremely good atention to this movies at the point that even thought Disney Chanel put those movies almost at every moment you will never miss it cuz you like it and sense you already know the songs you enjoy it even more you get it...
-But dont get me wrong i honestly love the new movies like Descendants and Zombies i do love them for real and i love involving myself into a fantasy mistic world that both movies shows sense Descendants is about Villians, Princess, Prince, Kings, Queens and Magic, while in the other hand Zombies is about well actual Zombies, Wolfs, Mystery and Magic and also maybe Vampires to sense the 3rd movies is already anounce to come by soon.. so i honestly realy love this movies but in comparison to the old ones those movies where actualy trowing real life facts in alot of diferent ways and they express diferent topics that every teenager pass through at those ages and i say it cuz i did pass through similar stuff in diferent ways and we all do experience them and still today i'm 21 years old and their stuff i see in this old movies that even in University still happends or can actualy happend cuz even thought i can be an adult i'm still realy young and have alot of things to do, discover and learn as well from myself and the world around me... you can realy identify with this old movies more than the new ones cuz of their storylines, tensions, feelings and joy in alot of ways while the new movies are focus in a specific topic plus they have to make it fit their type of movie cuz is a magical mistic world not a real life world so they have to focuz in every detail perfectly to make the movie look beautiful and charming in every way with the songs and dancing plus the drama of the movie itself you get into this movies cuz of all the stufd happening that magicaly epic and it just eye catching like everyone loves movies that are like this not only talking about Disney movies but in general alm movies like this fiction fantasy magic like they have good espectations for every single stuff and part of the movie but like i said the focus in a same topic following the storyline of the 1st movie while the old movies change the storylines in ways that exist and happend to everyone when they are teens and for the movie that express more those stuff are the High School Musical movies they realy focus in diferent types of storyline in one movie like one movie can have like 4 or 5 stories that all get involve with main one in all of them... but all the old movies do that as well so that the big diferent for and my point of view of the old with the new but i honestly love both alot so my respect and everyone has their own taste thise who were born like me in the Millenium 00 we have live to see both types the youngers than us are living and seeing the ones right now and for them these can be the best types of movies and we have to respect them because is what they grew up looking at as kids, young teens and old teens as well so yeah.. i dont judge anyone but i have my personal point of view of it...
