I bought this when it first came out and, even at $300, never regretted it for a second. And I will probably fork over the $200 for this download version as I travel some. My favorites in this set are all easy (no demanding sleights), which makes it easy to concentrate on the most important facet of every magical effect in existence - the presentation. They are all winners and, alone, are worth the price of this project: 1. Twilight Angels 2. Extraordinary Proof 3. Halfmoon Voodoo 4. Son of Stunner 5. Big Tiny (Tip: do Rick LAX’s “Binary Code 2,” then close out your set with “Big Tiny.” The destruction of a deck is mega worth it!) 6. Shuffling Lesson 7. Invisible Palm There are many other great effects on this set, but these are my go-to easy favorites, and they are all very strong if you work on your presentation. You will smile right before doing these because you know what’s coming - your spectators don’t have a clue what is about to hit them.
Yeah, I've always loved Paul Harris Presents tutorials. Very short and to-the-point, nothing superfluous. You get an over-the-shoulder view with captions in plain English telling you exactly what to do, then you get a spectator's-eye view of the effect. No talk, just some background music. There are some very talky tutorials out there that are two or three times longer than they need to be because of bad scripting and the apparent need to keep selling you the effect after you've already bought it; but with effects by Paul Harris Presents, there's no BS. And the effects are all workers. SoS (Son of Stunner) is one of my all-time favorites.
Where did Murphy’s/Paul mention this? I checked Murphys product page and FB, didn’t see anything mentioning providing the downloads to the OG set owners.
I'm such a gatekeeper to this box set. I wish I could buy them all. A lot of these are in my professional repertoire. I love the price because a lot stayed away.
I am one of those that has the original TA boxset and i still go to it to this day, the updated version is really cool, i did turn my DVD's to digital format years ago, for anyone starting magic or even if your a pro this collection is a keeper... Twilight Angles is a one that WOW's people still to this day...
I still have my own box set from all those years ago… it was $300 for top notch secrets. And all the goodies you get inside. Plus the box set came in a beautiful wooden box.
This video set, is SOOOOO good! I was able to buy a second-hand set for very cheap about 10 years ago. A lot of updated handlings to his excellent Art of Astonishment” trilogy. (I do Half-Moon Voodoo ALL the time!).
The original box itself was super cool. It had a rotating medallion in the middle to lock it so the top wouldn't slide open. I loved it just for the entertainment value. I've performed a lot of the tricks but it was just fun to watch and find the easter eggs. I'm sure there's still one or two tricks I haven't found yet. I think Wayne Houchin did a version of Invisible Palm that I loved the most. That trick always makes people's mouths drop.
Halfmoon Voodoo by Paul Harris is always on my repertoire.. changed the handling a bit but never disappoints to blow minds. True astonishments indeed!!
Invisible palm is a go to for me, it's always super impressive! Also a big fan of extraordinary proof for a one on one trick. Tensegrity is super cool but pretty finicky so I've done a lot of tweaks to the setup over time
I own this box set. Sos is such an amazing trick. Hits 3 times and so effing powerful! All these tricks are so unique and strong 💪 great review as always
bought the og box set off ebay last year, and without a doubt one of my prized possessions granted there are effects that aren't as great and there's better methods on the market (coin bend for one), but without a doubt you'll get a plethora of astounding effects 🤘🤘🤘
Hi, great review, as always. BTW, whenever I buy magic, that you reviewed, from Hocus Pocus or from Penguin Magic, I always mention that your review brought me to them. I hope that helps! Fair is fair!
If you are card guy, you will love this. The video, sound, demo and instruction are top draw. Excellent. For me, it has way, way too many card effects. It's true, the easter eggs are real pain in the ass to access on the DVD's. This appears to be a much better value then the original. IF, you like card magic
@@magicorthodoxy True. But Paul Harris makes cameo's here and there. Is not the principle instructor. A lot of "intro's and after thoughts" and combine conversations. So yes, IF you like cards, Paul Harris MATERIAL (with a little Paul) then you will enjoy and profit from this. For me, too much card, not enough Paul. Well there is more Paul, but he is hiding in the DVD somewhere.
I bought this set recently and it didn't come with any instructions. I did not find any card to access the download link. Luckily, the magic shop that I bought the box from did provide the link to me. Just asking, did you experience the same issue?
I review Past Present Future by Rick Lax in the Member's section - join now for only $1.99 ruclips.net/video/ejxuKjykE2w/видео.html

thanks for stopping by
This a must have set. One of the all-time great magic dvd sets ever. So much amazing magic is packed in here.
It really is!
If you bought the origional Paul gives you access to the downloads. Contact Murphys wirh proof of purchase. A very classy move on Paul's part.
nice !!!

@@magicman506 on one of the Murphys you tube shows.
Don't Remember where I bought it 😂🤦🏻♂️

Now there is a great testimony !!!

That'd be cool if Paul made a sequel to this. Some dude on reddit told me Paul is writing a new book so that's good too.
I keep hearing that he's retired from Magic
I still have my own box set from all those years ago… it was $300 for top notch secrets. And all the goodies you get inside. Plus the box set came in a beautiful wooden box.
that's the one
I saw this on a magic store’s website and I was considering purchasing it and I am so glad that you have done a review. Thanks so much!!!
You are so welcome!

Great set. Some of the best tricks are in the easter eggs.
That's true!
Agreed!
Halfmoon Voodoo by Paul Harris is always on my repertoire.. changed the handling a bit but never disappoints to blow minds. True astonishments indeed!!
Paul is the best
Same here! Always a jaw-dropper!
Invisible palm is a go to for me, it's always super impressive! Also a big fan of extraordinary proof for a one on one trick. Tensegrity is super cool but pretty finicky so I've done a lot of tweaks to the setup over time
Thanks for sharing!
nice variety kit from a great teacher
Thanks for the review David 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much Dave!!
My pleasure!
I own this box set. Sos is such an amazing trick. Hits 3 times and so effing powerful! All these tricks are so unique and strong 💪 great review as always
Great to hear!
Would this be a good starter kit for a new magician? Or are the teachings geared more towards someone's who's been practicing for a while?
I think this would need to be an adult who has been doing magic for a while
Any idea where can we purchase those tricks that not included in the original DVDs?
nope, sorry

nope, the link was on a super tiny piece of paper - the size of a fortune out of a fortune cookie
Cool !
!!!!
I’m fourth but I call !!!FIRST!!! 🙂 Thanks again ✌🏻
Yes you are!
No DVDS? as a physical media collector, this is a massive pass for me 😢
You might find an dvd version on ebay
