Ok so we were just at riu republica last week and here are my takeaways….on the plus side-1. the beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs on the beach and plenty of shade and room under the palms if you need to get out of the sun. 2. The jerk chicken stand by the beach is amazing!! 3. At The steak house, the meat sampler for 2 was delicious but the “sirloin of beef” at the Mexican restaurant “ole” was even better. The Asian restaurant was pretty good-get the chicken that is between the duck and spare ribs-very good! The main buffet was what I expected for a riu for breakfast and dinner. the property and room were clean..reading some of the other comments, my wife agreed that the beds were hard……here comes my biggest complaint, we were in the building at the polar opposite of the beach which is back behind the mango restaurant-there was an ice machine on every floor of our building- none of them worked… I went to the adjacent building and the 1st 3 of the ice machines I tried, were all broke as well….IT WASNT UNTIL I GOT TO THE 8th ICE MACHINE THAT I TRIED AND FOUND IT WORKING--that’s 1 in 8 ice machines that worked- Ridiculous!!!

@@silly4limes age range for the great majority was anywhere between 20-40yrs. I must say though I was blown away by the experience as Ive never been to a party atmosphere quite like this one. The themed parties were all great, but what stood out in particular was the pool parties they held at one of the other Riu resorts. They shuttle people in for free from every Riu resort with a bus load of people being dropped off every 5 mins. Overall had a great time!
Different from the Riu Montego Bay. They used to all be the same but watching these videos it seems they are all doing things their own way. Your score was generous 😊

Hola! The pools in all the resorts we've visited are not topless. However we've seen a few women tanning topples on Punta Cana beaches, but it is not very common.

Unfortunately summer is the highest seaweed season for all of the Caribbean and Mexico. It comes down to how well the resorts manage the cleaning of the seaweed. Please keep in mind that seaweed amount also varies from day to day and beach to beach depending on the ocean currents at any given time.
The Riu Party venue is located in Riu property, but not in a hotel per se… it’s next to Riu Bambu and close to the Riu Palace Macao, Riu Palace Bavaro, Riu Palace Punta Cana and Riu Naiboa.
This resort is terrible. The food is miserable and bland (today my friend had green on his steak). I am here right now and I have food poisoning and multiple people in our group have gotten sick from it. The beds are rock hard and the pillows are practically non existent. Yes it is good for partying but that’s where it ends.

Hola, Miguel 🙂 el entorno de los hoteles es súper gay friendly ya que es un ambiente muy turístico. No hemos tenido nunca problemas. La cultura dominicana es un poco machista y puedes oír uno que otro chiste “políticamente incorrecto” en el entretenimiento pero nunca con malicia y mucho menos hacia un huésped directamente. Realmente nosotros no hacemos mucho PDA por gustos personales así que mi opinión es desde ese prisma pero nunca hemos experimentado ni hemos sido testigos de ningún tipo de discriminación. Espero esto te ayude!
The pool water was so bad everyone pees in it. The grossest place I’ve ever been to. Don’t expect much. They allow people at the buffet with no shirts on.
@@notoriousLSGshow you will be fine. I just had bad luck with most the guests acting like 8 graders. The staff was very friendly. The food was good. I need a more laid back resort.
