    I always bring an extension cord for my curling iron. I like to sit down and do my hair in front of the mirror sometimes on the floor. I also bring a nite light. It’s helpful if you use the bathroom late at night. I also bring my iPad. A garbage bag for dirty laundry and a beach bag. I never leave home with packing a sick bag with meds in case someone gets sick 🤢 and it does happen. I also bring a can of air freshener for the room. Sometimes the room are musty.

    In addition to my insulated tumbler, I also bring a reusable straw and a very small bottle (mine is about a 2oz bottle) of dish soap so that I can clean out my tumbler and straw at the end of the day.

    Great video. Thank you. Maybe try these too:
    We take colorful large towel clips for the pool and beach loungers.
    A door stop comes in handy sometimes.
    Dollar store suction cup hooks for shower loofah.
    What's app instead of walky talkies.
    If we have travel room, we take clothes that we don't want or use any more.
    People in these countries are very appreciative.
    Dinner pants that the legs zip off to second for warm day activities.
    We take candy to hand out on Halloween cruises and resorts.
    Straws. And share them.
    We take glow sticks and hand them out in the evening time. Most everyone, adults and children love them.
    We take 6"x9" Canada flags and clamp them to our loungers at the pool and beach.
    Binoculars are nice some times.
    A small travel umbrella.
    Gum.
    Cell phone portable power bank/charger for when you are not in the room.
    Feel free to leave your kids at home. Bring your dog instead.

    I've had crock blisters as well and I've resorted to wear sneaker socks in them to avoid the blisters. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Another tip is to carry a small towel in your beach bag for when you rinse off your feet and slip into your dry shoes when leaving the beach. We always pack a fly swatter to avoid unwelcome guests.

      If you find yourself watching TV on the resort, then you went to the wrong resort. Also, if you are that bored, you can always step off the resort and enjoy the actual country because the resorts are no indication of what the culture is actually like. TV is the last thing I would do on the resort. 😂

    • @NittyGrittyTravelers
      @NittyGrittyTravelers  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hola! It depends on what you consider important, for example:
      - Cheaper time is from Mid August to Mid November, keep in mind that from June to October Punta Cana's weather is extremely hot
      - Nicer weather and no seaweed is from Mid November to April but it's the high season and it's the most expensive time to visit
      - Hotter weather not so expensive but there's usually a lot of seaweed: from May to Mid August.
      Hope this helps! =)

      Hola! We've hear from friends that La Yola at Cap Cana is an amazing restaurant, the food seems to be delicious and its location is breathtaking =)

    How much cash to bring for a week there

    • @NittyGrittyTravelers
      @NittyGrittyTravelers  Год назад

      That is a complex question to answer. If you're staying in an all-inclusive then bring money for tips (small bills) and some souvenirs. Credit cards are widely accepted in the country so there's no need no bring a lot of cash. For reference the exchange rate of Dominican Pesos to USD is about 54.3 per dollar. Goods and services are cheaper than the US but it's not as cheap like countries in Asia for example.

    As a Dominican, I'm galled that there can be such idiotic dress codes! Gimme a break! People are there on vacation and they are bringing badly needed foreign currency to the Dominican economy!

      We generally agree with you! While we know some people enjoy the more formal environment at night we also think non formal options should always be available at all times!
