I agree with your point Eng.kuol manyang. Is better to relocate the people of the flooding areas into dry areas since South Sudan is belong to all. That jonglei canal will bring more destruction into our resources and to country itself.

What does Koul Manyang Juuk mean by “Raja is a No Man’s Land”? Is that a social engineering in the making, or he does not know South Sudan's demography? For information, Raja County is located in the north-western corner of South Sudan in Western Bahr el-Ghazal State. It borders Wau County to the south-east, Northern Bahr-el Ghazal State to the east, and Western Equatoria State to the south. It also has long international borders with the Central African Republic to the west and Sudan to the north. The Population is estimated to be 78,678. Major ethnic groups are The Kresh, Balanda, Buja, Feroghe, Kara Banda, Shat, and Yulu.

If we take the following matters into consideration when digging this canal
    1. Advantages
    a) promotion of Agricultural activities
    b) Promotion of development
    c) claiming back grassing land for pastures
    d) reducing flooding
    2. Disadvantages
    a) Ecosystem destruction
    b) reduction of rainfall that is attracted by sudd swarm water
    c) wildlife negative impact
    d) pastolist Conflict of grassing land due to shortage of water.
    e) Negative impact on living standards of communities living along sudd swarmp areas due to reduced fish and others resources in sudd region.
What is the best way citizens can have in this debate?

That is in your head Kuol Manyang the land belongs to the people of south sudan, its usage shall be regulated by law, the law is to be made by state and local government, not the central government. No relocation of people because theur acceptability due to vultural differences. The Jonglei canal is disastrous. You cannot want to occupy other peoples land. Remain in Jongley its your God given land. it does not make sense. Dont mislead people.

Great! discussion. I don't want to take away from this amazing discourse, but I can not help but to look at the picture frame of our two great heroes; Dr. Garang and Salva Kiir. Can someone please use a tape measure and a level to set the frames straight. It will look more professional. I see the same issues in many videos, even in the office of the president.

Jongle canal is reasonably and reliable project for both of us
For south sudan 🇸🇸 it will Stop floods and population displacements, increase the survey of arable land and create a reliable waterway for navigation.
For us in Egypt 🇪🇬 it will increase the water supply we get from the Nile cause it’s only source of water and we will carry all the cost
So This has a double benefit for everyone
With warm regards to the brotherly people of South Sudan, we wish the best and the best for all of Africa 😻😻

Very bogas and unsatisfactory reasons to change a whole eco-system
The major reason Egypt wants it is because
They want to increase their arable land and also want to channel water to the pyramids because they are constructing a port jst next to them

Of course this thing will only benefit Egypt but not South Sudan....so there is no need for south Sudan to do it
