I think you would have ranked the stormers Jersey higher if you knew that the "pattern on the back" was Table Mountain in Cape Town, which is an official natural wonder of the world and quite iconic
Might be right mate! I didn't know that before! A few years back the Blues jersey had a slight impression of a famous natural landmark here in Auckland and I did like that
Yeah! Jaguares takes the 1st place! Did you know the "Jaguar" is actually a local animal called "Yaguareté" (a local type of Jaguar) that lives in the north of Argentina? The "PUMAS" logo has it as well. In reality the puma that you see in Argentina´s national jersey is NOT a Puma and they shouldn´t be called "The Pumas", but during the 1965 tour of the "Pumas" to South Africa, as the local reporters didn´t know the "yaguareté" they christened them as "The Pumas", and that´s how it spread worldwide.
Es la verdad y es la leyenda. Gran cosa que se pudiera rescatar el verdadero animal "yaguareté" para este equipo (el nombre es de origen guaraní) la zona en que los animales habitan. Is true and leyend. Great thing was to rescue the original name "yaguareté' (in lenguage of guaraníes indians)

Would love to hear your thoughts on the alternate kits. Those are the ones that are usually a bit left of center. The marvel jerseys are also alternate kits I suppose.
Want to see you wear that Hurricane jersey just for reassurance because it looked horrendous in the pictures. It's like one of the custom background patterns on microsoft powerpoint... Agree with a lot of the rest of the ordering though and many look more adventurous with their patterning than the English Premiership jerseys we get here who seem to adore horizontal stripes.
Yeah mate the images are really really bad, I can't believe they actually use them to try and sell the things.... surely you want the sales pics to look better, not worse. Quins always seem to have fairly adventurous jerseys aye?
If I was buying - I reckon I'd get the normal jerseys for the SA teams. That being said, if Marvel jerseys can help get more kids into the game or more jersey sales for the teams - fine by me too
Just an FYI the Shark's sponsor is "Cell C" which is the 3rd biggest telecoms network in SA. It's interesting, because the two biggest networks (their competitions) are also very involved in rugby, since Vodacom sponsors Super Rugby as a whole in South Africa (and the bulls), and MTN is the Springboks sponsor.
The pattern on the back of the stormers jersey is Table Mountain... Which is cape towns "symbol" if you can put it that way so thats pretty awesome i just realized it
tomas bachiller it’s the kit sponsor. Nike has always made beautiful jerseys. Still have no idea why England and the springboks dropped them as kit sponsor.
Rufo, hola, ¡muy buena observacion! 2 cents R. ¿qué te ha parecido la versión en naranja de la camiseta de Jaguares Mil gracias por el video!! Saludos!!! -- -- Hi Rufo, very good statement! 2 Cents R. what are your opinion on orange version of Jaguares jersey? Thanks tons for the video! Cheers!
As a Sharks fan I can't disagree with their ranking, even though a few Chiefs fans will be a bit salty, as they look quite similar. ;) That Jaguares jersey is freaking awesome! I like the Canes and Saders ones as well.
Kind of funny, even though, I know it's subjective... Two cents: This Chiefs jersey with grey on black with an orange sponsor logo is kind of bland. Also Two cents: This Sharks jersey with grey on black with an orange sponsor logo is lit af. LOL I will say this about the New Zealand jerseys, I like how they all have the shoulder stripes. I think that's a cool touch. That said, I miss the old style jerseys that seem to be more prevalent still in the Mitre 10 Cup (lots of hoops). I also wish they would bring back the more traditional collared jerseys instead of these skin-tight ones. It's interesting that in North American sports there are no corporate sponsor logos on jerseys and the team symbol is in the middle. I'm not sure which tradition I prefer. Cool video and interesting takes.
Lol yeah there is no logic to it mate. I suppose I am used to the Chiefs having more colour than they do now, whereas the Sharks have always been similar. You're right about the American thing - I suppose their sports have more breaks so the ads get put in that way, rather than on the actual players
My top 4 in alphabetical order is Bulls, Crusaders, Jaguars, Sharks, would place Sunwolves way lower, I easily get put off by ugly logos, hence my bottom four in alphabetical order are Blues, Reds, Stormers, Sunwolves
53A17 E I must say, I never noticed it until it was pointed out in this video now it’s distracting AF! Can’t see anything else when I look at the blues jersey. In SA we have a similar situation with WP (stormers) and the yellow and red DHL logo on the blue and white hoops. Looks like scrambled eggs and tomato sauce on their chest.
Mate, let me just say very diplomatically, that our tastes are significantly divergent. As a general rule, I'm a big believer in monochromatic simplicity and timeless dignified look. Thus, with very few exceptions, "the less s**t going on the better" is my general approach. I don't enjoy a jersey, that is going to look absolutely ridiculous in less than 10 years. It might look cool today, but it WILL look like trash in a couple of years. I always ask myself: "a) Would I spend my money to buy this? and b) would I actually wear this?". That being said, here's my list, sorted from the worst to best looking HOME jerseys: 1. BLUES. Here I agree with you. The design looks ugly and lazy. The Blues jersey dethroned the Sunwolves from last years, as their jersey marginally improved. 2. SUNWOLVES. Worst team, worst logo, 2nd worst jersey (I guess that's a fail). Yep, the Sunwolves know the worst. 3. HURRICANES. Only marginally better. This busy pattern will age very poorly. 4. STORMERS. No stripes, no hoops for me. Especially not with some fancy gradient effects on them, that will age worse than bad. If you want to know how to do hoops, look at the Baabaas, Bath and the Pumas. 5. BULLS. Too many things going on. Again, those shapes won't age well. 6. BRUMBIES. Looks like 1990s to me. Not old enough to be retro, not modern enough, too busy and too weird 7. LIONS. First of the "meh" section. Nothing special, not too bad either. 8. JAGUARES. Even though I generally like black, I'm not sold on the busy orange scratchy pattern at the top. What a pity, considering their previous black jersey (the one with thin orange stripes) was very nice. The away jersey looks okay on a page, but much less nice live. 9. WARATAHS. The huge "Daikin" kills this otherwise fine uniform for me. I like the waratah watermark at the back. The throwback retro jersey they played one game in this year is amazing! 10. CHIEFS. This is one of the few examples, where I don't mind a busier pattern. It's subdued, doesn't stand out too much, it's artistic and there is a meaning to it. 11. HIGHLANDERS. Same as above, it's just the tartan pattern is a tiny bit better to my eye. BTW, the 'Landers away jersey is a crime against humanity. 12. REBELS. Simple navy color, nice touches with the collar and sleeve trimming. Extra points for very few ads, one of which is even Unicef. Beautiful jersey, that can actually be worn outside of the game without a shame. 13. CRUSADERS. Crusaders are great at everything, so of course their jersey looks great as well. Beautiful shade of red, subdued pattern, minimum amount of commercials. I'm going to buy this one. 14. SHARKS. It would have been the absolute winner, if it wasn't for the excessive amount of the contrasting ads. Pity. 15. REDS. Dignified simplicity in a league of its own, few ads, no pseudo-creative bs. A beautiful, classical uniform in regal purple. This thing was clearly designed by someone with taste. Funny how this works. The Reds are the team I probably care the least about. But gotta give it to them, they have the best looking jersey, and that by a landslide and a half. The best rugby jersey in the world: the current Welsh kit.
Two Cents Rugby You know, mate, you can always save time and be appalled already. Efficiency! But seriously, please do the team logo rankings as well :)
Woah long time no see mate! Yeah I got rid of it... I wore it around China when was there last year - and it's really worse for wear now..... but man what a result the other day
I love that the Reds are back to the classic. 'QLD Red' should always be marron. It doesn't matter that it's similar to the Broncos because it's the same in state of origin. As long as the warratahs and NSW are piss blue, QLD will be maroon.

I should say since recording I've got the Brumbies 2019 jersey and it's pretty bloody nice - O'Neills do good work!

I think you would have ranked the stormers Jersey higher if you knew that the "pattern on the back" was Table Mountain in Cape Town, which is an official natural wonder of the world and quite iconic

The DHL logo still looking very bad though
