Cool video. Achieving the American Dream from two totally different perspectives. Sticking to your belief may not guarantee success, but it surely increases the odds.
I just wanted to say thank you for The Rest of The Rest of The Story. You do an outstanding job. I’ve always loved listening to Paul Harvey and have even read some of his books. Thanks again
I once worked with a gentleman who told us to never take stock advice from him. He was in sales and while visiting a client, the client asked him to invest just $1,000 in their company as they were preparing to go national. He walked over to the window and looked onto the vacant grassland of Bentonville AR, and laughingly replied, "Yeah, you're going national!" A few years later, this same person was asked to join a startup soon moving to Memphis TN. They admitted they couldn't pay him much upfront, but they would give him stock in the company to make up the difference. He replied that that he couldn't feed his family on stock. He had the opportunity to be an early investor in both Walmart and FedEx and missed out on both. I'm uncertain what the FedEx offer would equate to today, but the suggested $1,000 in Walmart stock would supposedly be worth a little more than $20 million today.
I once overheard a former delivery driver for one of those two companies recounting a story about a time when she was trying to deliver a package on a certain street, but couldn't because the lady driver of one of the competitor's vehicles was parked in the street and struggling with a large parcel. Since neither could get underway on her own they both took the heavy box to the house it was addressed to, and when the intended recipient opened the door one of the ladies told him/her that they were from the FedUp company.
You're not biased at all.....I lived in Lake Charles for 20yrs before moving back to Oklahoma after Rita hit.....I miss that Cajun food, but a few companies know my address.....Community & Kary's are my favorite. We do have Popeyes & Rasin' Cane......but they don't taste anything like what I got in LC. I have lots of good memories or those days.
Thanks for the Lagnaippe on Raising Canes. Great job as always!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love Raising Canes. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. There is no guarantee success, as you said, but with hard work... :)

Great story. There are them that teach and them that do.
You're exactly right. :)

Lake Charles is a fine city. Hurricane Rita was rough. I hope you have a wonderful day. :)
I've never heard of Raising Cane's Chicken, but I'd sure give it a try! Maybe I'm from the wrong part of the country?
That's unfortunate. It's very good. :)
