- In times of adversity, humanity seeks solace in the divine. The divine presence can take various forms, providing inner strength to confront difficulties. In response, individuals express admiration and praise for this divine energy. This genre of devotional song is termed "Stuti." The Bhajan I am performing today is a Ram Stuti, written by the esteemed poet and saint Tulsidas. This devotional song extols the virtues of Lord Rama, depicting his endearing qualities during his infancy. I hope that my rendition of this Bhajan allows you to envision the vibrant childhood of Prabhu Shri Ram Chandra. --- "Thumak Chalat Ram Chandra”

Bhakti TYAGARAJA Swami was totally divorced from worldly Affairs, & was bought by his Elder Brother, a Brass statue of Sri Rama with his Bow ( Kodand ) & Tunir ( Holding pouch for Arrows )
That unfortunately broke & Tyagaraja’s Brother bought him a replacement, this time made in GOLD !!
TYAGARAJA couldn’t stop weeping & with tearful eyes took his statue bac to his brother with the spontaneously composed song quoted before !!
I have o formal education in Musi but I was initiated by our Anatomy Demonstrator in Gwalior Medical College by my Teacher Dr. A.Tiwari Sahib !!
Since then I have just Rad Books on MUSIC & sing loudly while in SHOWER !!

Is Pulaskar ji the actual composer of this composition?
I mean Thumak Chalat was written by Goswami Tulsidas Ji, so *some* rendition of it has existed since the 1500s… This composition may have been created by Paluskar Ji, but not likely. His recording is amazing though

Yes…. The composer of this beautiful bhajan, is Gayanacharya Pt. Vishnu Digamber Paluskar ji. … father of Pt. D V Paluskar. Also the bhajans like, Payoji mai ne, Raghupati Ragahav Rajaram, Kahake Pathikva, sung by Pt. D V Paluskar ji are composed by pt. Vishnu Digamber Paluskar, to popularise Hindusthani Rag Sangeet in common people, in the beginning of twentieth century.
My father Pt. A P Narayangaonkar was fortunate to record all these Bhajans in the melodious voice of D V Paluskar ji for HMV company around 1952 - 54, as he was working in HMV as a Music Director. Afterwards these bhajans were published & popularised in the devine voice of Lataji. But the records were labled in the name of Pt. Hridaynathji. So no one knows now the original composer of these bhajans.
