nice video! I backed the lowest Digital content. I love physical books, but those prices are a bit rich for me lol. I'm not sure if I'll truly enjoy the system, but I definitly want to learn and see what he came up with. I love his energy in his Solo Plays, haha. I look forward to your Dragonbane videos; I'll be doing my own in the next month! Take care.
I did! I don’t think we will regret it. We just may not use it as much as we hope. Why’s that?! Because it feels like a very ambitious undertaking for someone brand new to this kinda thing? Lol
@ well just remember, literally playing the game is not the only way to get enjoyment from the game itself. In the wise words of geek gamer “everything is play” and I can see myself pulling stuff from it and tweaking it for sure.
@@elaineabreu282 I was so close to making a decision this morning but then I considered the premium book for some reason and it reset the entire process.
Hey Sacred, good video! Just found your channel, and I like the kind of content/games you are covering (subscribed). Haha the Brandon Sanderson reference was on point too! So I had initially backed Broken Empires (mostly due to the Shawn Tomkin and Tana Pigeon name drops for solo play lol) but I actually ended up cancelling my pledge... The idea of it possibly being too crunchy for my tastes was something that made me hesitate, and I figured hey better to wait, at least for me, especially with the higher price point. I just find that I really prefer the rules-lite stuff that lets me keep things open ended (kind of like you were talking with bone spear skill example). That being said, I am a big fan of borrowing cool ideas and mechanics (like using the combat zones in board games etc) and maybe we will see some really cool stuff, so I'm not writing it off entirely.
@@Sacred_Art_of_Gaming yeah, exactly! I'm a bit lazy when it comes to write down all the rules and options in digestible form... I like playing ttrpgs more, so I thought Trevor would do all the hard work ))) I'll just tweak it then for my style )

My thoughts exactly regarding broken empires. Thank you so much! I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with in your video 🙂
I backed it lol! Did you? Now we will see if I will regret it. I will tell you what though this def won't be ready next year lol

@Sacred_Art_of_Gaming agreed! That one time we actually play it will be glorious, though 🤣

I'm also flopping back and forth with this one

Haha you caught that, welcome to the squad!
Yea it’s coming down to the wire and I’m likely to dive in under that very mindset.
I'm wondering about whether I should back it, because it sounds really cool and I want to support Trevor
My thoughts exactly. I will in some way at some point for sure. I am just undecided if it’s now and if it is now, at what level.
No. I rarely back things. Especially from already established publishers.
In this case, I don’t think Trevor is considered an established publisher but I could be wrong.
I was working on my own perfect ttrpg for my style of gming, my current iteration is so similar in core mechanics to BE so I backed it right away )
@@helgiuz sounds like a smart move! Then you can build on top of what they have that you like and remove what you don’t.
