I have a set of TTI-158s in my V&H Straight Shots, with no baffles, and they eliminated the significant off-the-line torque dip typical of open pipes, as well as giving her a bump in torque and hp. They also gave wider peak torque curve, and deepened the tone. A fantastic product, that I recommend to everyone. Cheers!
The 3-5 horsepower gain is impressive for a small item, but what really sold me is how it feels throughout the powerband. So many exhausts these days seem to choke out the low end on Harleys so it's nice to get that GRUNT back!
I am glad that you are finding the Thunder Torque Inserts effective and that you have gotten the grunt back! Thank you for commenting and for your business! 😎
I am a firm believer in reversion. I have made my own lolli pop baffles on other bikes after testing positive for reversion. I decided to buy DKs and I have these on my '17 Slim S CVO 110. It really made the bike smooth out in the torque band which makes her pull harder. I can definitely feel her dig harder and the revs climb easier, it seems. I have these in V&H short shots. The sound is freaking incredible. DK makes a great product. Every mod I purchased from DK is quality. They stand behind it too. Just a great family business. Thank you DK. God bless and keep the shiny side up.
I installed the 158 Thunder Torque Inserts in the de-baffled Cobra Neighbor Haters on my 1997 H-D Hugger. My butt dyno says the engine has an improvement in torque and horse power, and my ears told me it is much louder.Loud pipes save lives. Thanks DK Custom Products.
Tracy did you drill your pipes or use the bolt holes from the old baffle bolts without having to make them bigger? I want to pull my baffles on my NH's but dont want to drill my exhaust in case I want to add baffles back in later.
It needs to be said for people who are just watching these videos and have not experienced TTI in their bike. I put them in a stage IV 48 Harley and they make a palpable difference that you can feel. It’s remarkable. I just had to give up trying to imagine how they work and simply enjoy them. It makes my bike so much better.
I just installed a set of these , my purchased set was the 118 TTI for my 95 Evo Heritage Softail with Stage 3 upgrades. I am running a set of Samson true dual 33 inch fishtails. Installation was pretty easy, i only had to open up the hole which holds the baffle in place by a drill bit . I installed at the 90 degree position. I have run these pipes with and without the baffles which came with the pipes, without the baffles bike is loud and pops like crazy on decel and performance is sluggish, with the baffles the bike runs smoother and has good performance and not as loud but a reasonable sound. WITH THE TTI's as soon as i started and drove out of my driveway and down my street i could tell straight away the sound is like i have no baffles and has no decel poping just a glorious deep tone rumble on decel. Just came back from a 2 hour bike ride up the expressway and the torque has improved in the midrange, nice and smooth all the way. These are a no brainer!! Excellent product.
That is great to hear. Thank you for sharing! 👍 Thank you for your business, we appreciate it, and glad that you are enjoying a better exhaust note And More Power. 👍😎👍
Good video, it is all about exhaust reversion NOT back pressure. In the old days ( before D K Customs invented and patented their quality product seen here) we used eye bolts ( lolly pops) to do the job
Hi Jack! Yeah, eye bolts are what I used for decades. They will help break up the reversion....that was what spurred us to see if we could design something better. Lots of trial and error to get them to where they are. Thanks for the comment! 👍
Back in the 80s we knew enough to properly design our exhaust systems to quell harmonic reversion by increasing the diameter of the exhaust along it's entire length by either stepping or gradually tapering (megaphones) the exhaust diameter and then capping it off with a reverse cone to help subdue the noise level a little. The result was a free flowing system with no internal restrictions.
@@DiogenesOG Yes, and there are some pipes out there now that do the same thing. Even with those, there are increases in low and mid range power with the TTI's.
Just got the long thread ones for my bike as I have 4” pipes. Took maybe 5mins to install, couldn’t be any easier! Gives a smoother mellower sound. Engine seems to run smoother and throttle is smoother. Didn’t mind it before but it is definitely smoother now. Can’t say on hp as I’m only 5’7” and 170lbs so bike doesn’t even know I’m on it but I will say when I looked down I was at 70+mph and didn’t realize it😬. I’ve got a 2011Electra Glide Ultra Limited 103. These things work, no question!
I gotta say, if anyone is on the fence about this product, my 21 bob is still under factory warranty. I decided to take the plunge, and install some 258s in my cat mufflers, the baffles in the bob mufflers has a 1" tube with a baffle plug right in the middle of the baffle, which is why you cant see through the muffler and the outlet looks so small. Once the baffle is removed, the cat is still up in the front of the muffler and can either be removed or left alone. i decided to leave the cats intact since light passes right through, then install the TTI's the recommended 2" inward. The results are amazing, although a little throaty but aggressive, the TTI's woke up a sleeping giant. There's no decel pop, and no dip in power through out the power band that i can tell. Best of all you still have the cats and now warranty issues.
@davidBarrel Yeah man, just cut the baffles out, you can leave the cats in, drill a 3/8 in the shell and adjust the inserts until they a in the center and tighten down and your good to go.
Finally tried these in my duals on a 103 dyna. Lost a little power around 5+. But it moved my power back down around 2500-3500 rather than 3500-4500. I can actually ride in 6th below 80mph again.
I've built and owned a ridged chopper for 15 years with a carburated s&s 96 with a Jim's 6 speed. Straight pipes w/cocktail shakers. Welded some 1/2" washers to 3/8 nuts. And mounted into the shakers. And noticed it's lower RPMS ran ok. But higher rpms ran like a bat otta hell! Just guessing there is pros and cons to my set up. But, sure is fast on the throttle! Just guessing it's a matter of the rider preference. And.... What looks good on the bike 😅

Glad you liked it. Yes, the TTI's are much more advanced and beneficial. You should notice a nice bump in power, and a little deeper tone to the exhaust, when using the TTI's in you EVO's.
I just recently got my thunder torque insert 158…. But the bolt is too short for my custom application,, I just want to know the bolt and thread size so I can purchase barrel nuts to fit it. Thanks

I just had a set of W258 Thunder Torque Inserts installed in my Rinehart Slip-on mufflers. It is really tight, no space around it at all. Harley mechanic didn't realize they come in different sizes. My bad for not getting a smaller size to begin with. I think I should order a set of W158 Inserts and just swap them out. This make sense?

@DKCustomProducts , It seems I can remove my TAB 2.5 LOUV'RE baffles, install the TTI directly to the baffles, and then reinstall the baffles without damaging or messing up the exterior of the TAB SLIP-ONS.

The TTI's will not increase the sound, unless you remove the baffles. They will deepen the tone. They will give an increase in low and mid range performance.
Hey guys, quick question... do you get those gains by just installing the TTIs or do you also need to tune it to get those gains? Also, if you need a tune to get the gains, do you lose performance at all of you simply just put them in? Stage 2 114
You do NOT need to change the tune when adding to TTI's. The TTI's change the AFR in the pipes, and they do allow for a fuller fresh charge in the combustion chambers. For that change in the fresh charge the ECM adjusts for that. Here is a video you may find interesting regarding how the ECM works- ruclips.net/video/0vbTkRvFa80/видео.html

Hi, I have 2019 Tri Glide Stage 1 with de cat. stock head pipes . would you leave baffles in or remove them then add Your baffles..I have Cobra 909s..have not had a tune done on it..
The TTI's will provide a good improvement with the baffles in, and an even nicer improvement with the baffles out on your 909's. It will be louder with the baffles out. Even though you don't get quite as much improvement with the baffles in, some prefer to keep it a little less loud.
2021 Roadglide Special 114 with Cobra 909 Twin slip ons, K&N air filter in factory Velocitor air intake and SE stage 1 tune Will I see better performance increase and deeper exhaust tone by installing these with the Cobra baffles left IN or OUT?
As a rule you will get more power with baffles removed and only TTI's. Tone may be a bit deeper (and edges rounded) with the baffles in and the TTI's installed. The packing in the baffles helps deepen the tone, and the TTI will deepen it even more.
I recently put TTI's on my 2017 Fatboy Special (stock pipes, baffles removed). While they did help out in the low to mid range, I feel like it suffered in the higher range. For example, when accelerating at higher speeds, it feels like it's lacking and not pulling like it did with the stock pipes on there. I installed them about an inch back from the end of the pipes, cups toward the rear. Is there anything that I can do to get my high end torque back?
Good to hear you had an increase in the low and mid-range. With a little drop off in the higher rpms, you can adjust the angle of the TTI's to fix that. Here is a link to the instructions, and below that a copy and paste of how to adjust- www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/wysiwyg/Updated_9_16_22_Thunder_Torque_installation_instructions.pdf Tips on tuning your Thunder Torques: TORQUE: The Increase in Torque is accomplished by reducing engine pumping losses, increasing exhaust gas velocity and increasing inertial scavenging. The unique combination of materials and design of the Thunder Torque Inserts™ are able to accomplish the above. Installation angles have a direct impact on how much more torque you will gain. Because each bike is different (air cleaners, fuel management, headers, slip-ons) there is no single adjustment that is best for all. So, play around with the angles a bit to find the best results for your particular set up and riding style. Thank you for your business, we appreciate it.
You do not need to do a tune when installing these. Your Iron OEM tune is too lean for running well in stock condition. So a tune is recommended regardless. Whether you have the stock tune, or another tune, if you are happy with it, these will only make the bike run better and not affect the tune at all.
There is going to be very little difference between the gutted OEM exhaust with the TTI's and the 4.5" slips on with the TTI's. The OEM will edge out the 4.5" by 1-2%, not enough for most folks to tell by the seat of the pants. For my 2008 Softail Custom, with V&H straight shot slip ons (no baffles), your website recommended tti-158. Out of curiosity, if I ran tti-118, would it still help to eliminate/reduce reversion, add torque back to bike, but still provide the choppy sound of running straight pipes? Thanks.
Yes, you could run the 118's and get some benefit, but not as much as the 158's. I don't know that you would like the sound any better with the 118's than the 158's. Take a listen (and note the sizes) to the following video - ruclips.net/video/GuIgK-rc2s4/видео.html You can hear some pretty good choppiness with the bigger TTI's.
@@DKCustomProducts, got them installed over the weekend. Made the bike a little quieter for sure. Definitely don't like the down rev, with them installed flat across at 90*, so I turned them slightly to about 45*. Sounds better, but it's hard to beat that open pipe sound. Going to run them for a bit, and see how I like them. I can say though, you definitely get a little bit of your torque back. Felt a lot better taking off, not sluggish. Also, for anyone installing on V&H pipes, you have to drill a 3/8" hole to install. I drilled all the way through heat shield and muffler, and placed one of the supplied flat washers from the kit, between the shield and muffler, then installed TTI through it, so it would have support between the two. The bolt isn't long enough to use washer, lock washer, and nut, so I could only use lock washer and nut. All in all, easy to install, and don't sound bad if your running no baffles (but definitely doesn't have that open pipe sound your used to).

Thanks for caring that this was developed and made in the USA. 👍😎👍

Cheers!
Hey Clammy! Thanks for the comment, sharing your experience. Stay warm up there!
If i have 4 inch pipes should i get the the 3 inch TTI or the 2 inch TTI
The 3-5 horsepower gain is impressive for a small item, but what really sold me is how it feels throughout the powerband.
So many exhausts these days seem to choke out the low end on Harleys so it's nice to get that GRUNT back!
I am glad that you are finding the Thunder Torque Inserts effective and that you have gotten the grunt back!

Glad you're enjoying the benefits of the TTI's.
Thank you for the comment on them, and the kind words. 👍
Thanks for sharing. Glad you are liking your new sound, and that you have more power. 👍
Appreciate your business.
Thanks for the good words. We appreciate it.
Glad you are enjoying the extra power on your ride!
Thank you for your business, we appreciate it, and glad that you are enjoying a better exhaust note And More Power.
@@DKCustomProducts which tuned exhaust systems in particular are you referring to that could benefit from TTIs?

Just got the long thread ones for my bike as I have 4” pipes. Took maybe 5mins to install, couldn’t be any easier! Gives a smoother mellower sound. Engine seems to run smoother and throttle is smoother. Didn’t mind it before but it is definitely smoother now. Can’t say on hp as I’m only 5’7” and 170lbs so bike doesn’t even know I’m on it but I will say when I looked down I was at 70+mph and didn’t realize it😬. I’ve got a 2011Electra Glide Ultra Limited 103. These things work, no question!

Great to hear you are enjoying them. 👍😎👍
Good Deal! 👍 Glad you are enjoying the improved power and sound.
Thank you for your business, we appreciate it.
Enjoy your ride!!!
Hi, any hint how to install them? you have to drill throw some part of the exhaust to attach it right?
@davidBarrel Yeah man, just cut the baffles out, you can leave the cats in, drill a 3/8 in the shell and adjust the inserts until they a in the center and tighten down and your good to go.
Finally tried these in my duals on a 103 dyna.
Lost a little power around 5+.
But it moved my power back down around 2500-3500 rather than 3500-4500.
I can actually ride in 6th below 80mph again.

Typically we see more power with no baffles and TTI's installed.
Would these increase sound and performance on my Stage 2 Screaming Eagle with Street Canons mufflers?

Here is a link to the instructions, and below that a copy and paste of how to adjust- www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/wysiwyg/Updated_9_16_22_Thunder_Torque_installation_instructions.pdf
Tips on tuning your Thunder Torques:
TORQUE: The Increase in Torque is accomplished by reducing engine pumping
losses, increasing exhaust gas velocity and increasing inertial scavenging. The unique
combination of materials and design of the Thunder Torque Inserts™ are able to
accomplish the above.
Installation angles have a direct impact on how much more torque you will gain.
Because each bike is different (air cleaners, fuel management, headers, slip-ons) there
is no single adjustment that is best for all.
So, play around with the angles a bit to find the best results for your particular set up and riding style.
Thank you for your business, we appreciate it.
Do I need to do a tune after install.. 2020 iron 883
You do not need to do a tune when installing these.
Your Iron OEM tune is too lean for running well in stock condition. So a tune is recommended regardless.
Whether you have the stock tune, or another tune, if you are happy with it, these will only make the bike run better and not affect the tune at all.
Will it fit on a 2016 trike? And a 2009 street glide?
Yes, they work in any slip-on, any year Harley. 👍
Do these inserts work better on m8 with 4.5" slip ons as compared to the stock pipes you tested on a m8?
There is going to be very little difference between the gutted OEM exhaust with the TTI's and the 4.5" slips on with the TTI's. The OEM will edge out the 4.5" by 1-2%, not enough for most folks to tell by the seat of the pants.

Possible to use on RGS model 2016? On 103 motor

@@DKCustomProducts sound good 👍 😋
Will these work with a victory or indian
Reversion is the same on all gas powered engines. We have many Victory & Indian Customers running these with equally good results as seen on Harley's.
Which number is suitable for RGS 103?
It depends on what exhaust you are running. If you are running the stock mufflers, with the baffles removed, then the 258 is what will work for that.
@@DKCustomProducts much appreciated for your quick response 👍
You ever use the tti in the baffle of ss gnx45?
We have not, but from looking at the ss gnx45 the baffle looks like the baffles used in most other exhaust. The torque gains should be the same as it is with installing the TTI into any other open baffle.
If you need help deciding the size of TTI that will work for you, you can look at this link and sizing chart - www.dkcustomproducts.com/choosing-the-right-size-thunder-torque-inserts.htm

Take a listen (and note the sizes) to the following video - ruclips.net/video/GuIgK-rc2s4/видео.html
You can hear some pretty good choppiness with the bigger TTI's.
@@DKCustomProducts thanks. Just ordered the 158's
@@jimmycecil1287 We appreciate your business, and I believe you will be well pleased with them.
@@jimmycecil1287 Thank you for the report. Very good to hear that it felt a lot stronger taking off, not sluggish.
Sorry to that it is not a sharp/loud as you would like.
Yo Guys, what’s happening? I haven’t seen you two for a long time. I picked up at 2013 Electra Glide Classic. So, my plan is to hit the road permanently in Oct 2022. I’m gonna make sure to stop by and buy you guys a beer 🍻 cheers
That'll be fun. Don't know if you have followed Scooter Tramp Scotty, but if not, he is full time on the road...worth a look.
Looking forward to meeting you in person. 👍
@@DKCustomProducts Scotty is my inspiration. Him, Joe Rader and the old dude with the trailer. We’re also watching 2 Wheels whatever. Husband and wife living in an RV and on the bikes. I’m planning on hitting the Panama City Rally 4/27-5/1. 2 weeks on the road to see how it goes. August 10th I turn 62 and as soon as I sell the house and purge my “Stuff”, I’m looking to go for good. It’s a major change but it’s the only way I can get out of this overtaxed, too fn cold 🥶 state of Connecticut. If it wasn’t for my grandkids I’d never come back here. Can’t wait. Let’s go
@@LonesomeNomad137 Sounds like a blast! Don't blame you one bit for wanting to get to warmer weather!
Would these fit in the gen 2 pipe
Tbr
Yes, we have quite a few Customers that have installed these in their TBR Gen II pipe with good results.
Thanks for looking at our parts.
Thank you for the good information.
Thank you for your comment, glad you found it useful.
I have 2007 street glide w 103 motor, 222 woods cam, Bassani true duals exhaust, and open intake, Dyno tuned w power vision 5. I lost low end torque between 1300-2000 RPM and get crazy Decel pop. I was able to reduce the pop by adding 25 percent fuel at idle w Power Vision. I’m about to purchase inserts today. I hope it will help me w my issues. I will post an update next week!
Cool! Appreciate your business, and looking forward to hearing how you like them!
How did these turn out?
I subscribed
We appreciate it!
Another informative one. 😎👍🇨🇦
Thank you for the comment, glad you enjoyed. 👍
I tried it on my 2012 super glide did not work sounded horrible
Are you saying that you tried the TTI's and did not like how it sounded?
If so, did you try it with and without baffle?
What Exhaust do you have?
If you did try the TTI, how was the power increase? What do you mean they did not work?
Regarding sound, it is so different for every individual...what sounds great to one person will sound horrible to another.

I bought these and they did absolutely nothing not trying to be mean just stating the fact they did not change the sound or performance or the torque of my bike that I can notice in any way shape or form
Thank you for the feedback.
That is most unusual, I suspect either mufflers not made for the TTI's, or the wrong size. If you email us and let us know what mufflers you are running, and what size TTI's, we'll see if we can get things fixed so you do get a benefit.

Hey there
Did you change out your slip on If what did you use
@@willboyd7794 Some folks gut their stock slip ons and put the TTI's in. (This works really well)
Other run aftermarket slip ons with these. Sometimes with baffles, sometimes without.
There are a few dozen videos at the following link where you can see all different configurations and installations.

OK I guess I have an understanding so basically if you do stock exhaust you have to take the guts out and if you do an aftermarket exhaust there’s not much you have to do just July the whole for the TTI in
@@willboyd7794 ran cobra from the barrel s to the tail pipes. Neighbor haters. Gutted them right out of the box. Liked the way they sound with the thunder torque, noticed the power difference right away .

Some bikes have more improvement than others, but we have never seen a Harley, regardless of the exhaust, that does not have some improvement.

anyone ever slap one of these into a pro pipe ?
Yes, they perform well. You will want to use one of the Extended Thread TTI's that can be seen at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/long-thread-tti-158.htm

$50 dollars? 😂
$50 will get the most Horsepower and Torque Increase per dollar spent...more than a cam, more than a big bore, more than a Stage I.
@DKCustomProducts for a wavy plate with a piece of 5/16" all thread? I'll make my own and spray paint it nice and black. Glad to see these are at least made in the USA and not China so kudos to you guys
The patented dimension's of the Thunder Torque Inserts™ are the result of hundreds of hours of development and testing.
High heat Powder Coat, the thickness of the wave, the strength of the threaded material, and accompanying hardware, along with the labor to make them, I reckon will cost you far more than $50, if you count your time for anything.
Thanks for caring that this was developed and made in the USA. 👍😎👍

Would these still help an exhaust that isn't running any mufflers
Removing the restrictive OEM mufflers (Slip-ons) will make a very significant difference.
