I had RUclips TV for about a year or so. I survived a few price increases but when they added sports with the latest price increase whether you want sports or not, I made a decision. I don't care for much sports except auto racing. Our 4K TV is great but when the app kept downgrading the resolution to 480p on a 4K TV, I was absolutely done. I've got Sling blue & it's decent but a lot less expensive than RUclips TV (LG smart TV app)
@@CordCuttersLI thanks!.. We're not finding Sling an easy to use alternative, we do like Hulu due to the easy to navigate part of the app, but we have the Sprint provided 5.99 account
I want to start RUclipsTV and be able to directly click a network for live or on demand. I want to click “CBS” and see their offerings, same with “NBC”, “ABC”, “Fox”. So far I haven’t found a way to open RUclipsTV, choose a network to search. That’s absurd.
Good review, but your icon and thumbnail screen is in the way and block a lot of the screen. 🙂 I have RUclips tv and even with the price hike it's a lot cheaper than I was paying for cable. To me, it's definately worth $64.99.
Hi Space Ghost, Thank you for watching and thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree, I went a little big on the Channel Logo on this one. I'll keep an eye on that. I'm glad you found something you like that saves you money on your cable bill. That is why I do what I do. 🔥
Thanks for your recent review of RUclips TV. Is it worth 65 dollars and trying to really cut your cost down to nothing, probably not. But it is cheaper than a 267 dollar cable bill/month I was doing. There are no contracts so I can leave anytime. To get what you had on cable, nothing is going to be free to match that. RUclips TV - using BASE content items only below: I am also currently trying out this streaming service(Trial period) to see how well it is. I will explain a few things I see so far, and I am using a PC Windows 10 on a LapTop/SSD drive to navigate through the YT service. My internet speeds are 200-300 Megbits/sec. I have to use my mouse to select anything/ move around in the YT streaming service. Note: I also have a pretty good indoor Antenna that gives my local channels. some come in good, some bad(get about 50 channels). When I select a channel or when it first starts up, I do get about15 to 30 of buffering before video screen begins(this will vary on your device you use). Once into any channel/program there is no buffering. I find the video quality good - I am not into 4K viewing- I am watching on a 40 inch LCD TV monitor. For me on my laptop, while in the LIVE channel guide and using the RIGHT arrow to search what programs are coming up, I find it is very slow to be able to scan ahead and see what the upcoming programs are. Makes it a little hard for me to select upcoming shows to record to watch later. Yes, Content is not bad but it is missing some favorite channels. There is adequate sports to watch for myself to see my local teams. YT gives adequate news either local or nation wide. Does not have CSPAN channels. No dedicated weather channel, but there is "LOCAL news" channel which gives the weather. Entertainment they have Disney, Paramount, Nickelodeon, Sundance, FX, SCIFI, and AMC to name a few that I watch. I do not have any of the extra addons at this time. To name a Few that are missing I liked, History chan, Lifetime, H&I chan, GRIT, Weather chan(mentioned before), and seems no streaming service has the "Decades" channel(yet my over the air antenna has it). Note: YT service does have the GOLF channel which SLING does not. I am a golfer, so I enjoy that sports channel. If i am doing LIVE TV and select a channel program/show that has been playing for some time, I cant go back to beginning/restart that program. I can only move around from when I first started watching the show. I also have Sling Blue which I can do a RESTART of a show which takes me back to beginning. I have only played around with this a little bit. I have tested/recorded a couple movies and seems easy to do saved recordings to watch. What i dont know yet is if I can fast forward through the commercials on recorded shows/movies. Have not done anything under the HOME menu category yet. Seems to be kind of an ON demand kind of menu listing movies and shows. That is about all I have found so far. Have not seen any major problems. take care.
Wow, thank you for the thorough review. I'm sure my subscribers will appreciate that. If you are getting 15 to 30 of buffering in between channels, that doesn't sound right. 2 or 3 seconds maybe, but over 15 is a lot, especially with your bandwidth.
@@CordCuttersLI My laptop is upstairs in my Den room and the router is down in the Basement, so i have a 50 ft ethernet cable plugged in between my laptop and the cable provider router. I just measured the time between switching channels and it is about 7 secs for the next channel to lock in. It could be something with the laptop. Once the channel is locked in and playing there are no periodic buffering going on, seems to work very well.
Yes, you will need to log into the App on Each and every device once. RUclips TV allows you to watch on 3 devices at the same time. You can install it on as many devices as you want, but can only watch up to 3 at any given time..
Hi, thank you for the information. I am thinking about switching to RUclips TV, so this is new to me. I know that I am going to need internet service, so I will get that from Verizon since it works better to me. I was told I will need a router too. I have a TCL and a Sony TV. The Sony TV is not a smart TV so I am confused at how I can watch RUclips TV on it. Do I need a connector for the Sony TV? Is MSNBC and CNN live? Also, can you let me know which remote I can use for the up and down channels? Thank you!
It depends on the TV, but most smart TVs will have RUclips TV as one of the apps. If your model does not then you may need to add a streaming device like a fire stick. Good luck, and thanks for watching! I hope you subscribed so you can see more videos when they come out?
@@CordCuttersLI Hi, I see three different fire sticks. There is a Lite, 3rd generation and 4K. I am not sure which one I should get. The 3rd generation says 2021 release.
My Favorite has always been the 4K model. Unfortunately the latest 4K model is still the 2018 version and I hear the 2021 version of it (not just the 2018 version with a remote with extra buttons for Netflix and RUclips) should be coming out pretty soon (but no official date).
Yes, well sort of .. If you look at right 2:40 of this video when I discuss the "Home" tab of the interface, there's a row called "Resume Watching" where it will show both recently viewed live channels as well as recently viewed Movies and TV shows on demand. I'm sorry, I didn't specifically mention it in the video... Thanks for watching! 👍
@@CordCuttersLI I just signed up. A little more money but WAY better than Sling’s awful new interface. I love the ability to hide and arrange channels. I do wish the Visio smart tv app had the live thumbnails like the browser version. That would be incredible.
I won't buy any of the TV providers because none of them has a lot of the channels that I want like to get NFL Network I'd have to go with RUclips TV but if I want local Arizona FOX sports then I have to go with DirecTV stream for example there's not one provider out there for me that has all the channels I want in one spot.
@@CordCuttersLI Yes that sounds good, but what's the use of getting a service with over lapping channels. Example: youtube tv and Philo. Even with the T-Mobile $10 discount for both , is it worth it getting Philo just for 3 or 4 channels that youtube tv doesn't have?
It is true, there is often going to be some overlap. This is because each of these streaming services strike different deals with the content providers (networks, etc). There is no such thing as one service that has EVERY channel you would ever want to watch, except (perhaps) for the cable company where you could spend 3 or 4 times the amount. I always recommend to start by making a list of all your must-have channels, then do some googling and research which services has those offerings and see how it compares to Cable. It needs updating, but take a peak at my "Get Started with Cord Cutting" page on my website and let me know what you think... cordcuttersli.com/get-started-with-cordcutting/ .

Well, I'm not sure anybody at RUclips watched my video, but I'm glad they fixed it! 👍
Great video explaining everything.
Cracks me up to hear people call $65/month expensive. How cheap do you expect it to be? Lol. MUCH better deal than I was getting with cable.
Absolutely!

Agreed. I don't think their interface works that way. 🥺
If you are in the Live Guide, and left click over to the CBS icon and click, does that help.

Not a lot, but they recently added Univision, UniMás, and Galavisión... 👍
