Great video. I've thought of doing this myself. If I build up the grip with tape, does the grip tend to slip since it's not contacted with the shaft?
It shouldn't slip once installed. Use a tape with a slightly rougher surface (blue painter's tape is recommended) and there shouldn't be an issue.
How about the master grip leather ?

Golfworks or Golf Galaxy. It's the same tape at both places
I was hoping that you would remove the old grip with the air instead of destroying it with the cutter. Awww!
It was an old grip and not worth saving. Thank you for watching.
You can also watch the video where I remove the grip with a needle and do save the grip.

Not unless you want to use tape to build up the diameter
