I've made this before. However, instead of buying pre-made sauce, I just buy canned tomato sauce and diced tomatoes and add Italian seasoning and garlic/onion powder to it (along with salt and pepper) and it's great. I know tomatoes in general have a fair amount of sugar content, but this works better for me than the pre-made stuff. Also, I like to "veggie" it up by adding bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and black olives. Also, mixing ground beef with ground pork really enhances it as well. The nice thing about these kinds of dishes is that you can add what you like to satisfy your and your family's taste buds!
I made this lastnight with a few adjustments to the recipe. It was INCREDIBLE! I don't think I ever want traditional carby lasagna ever again. This was the best! Thank you.
Thanks for such a good video. I will deg try this. I appreciate how you went straight to the recipe and didn't make the audience listen to talk about other stuff.
I made this last night and they absolutely demolished it.. :) I substituted ground turkey.. I can see sooo many possibilities with this..Thanks Anna.. :)
Everytime I think I have an original idea I look it up and sure enough someone already did it . Having said that I just made a similar recipe with ground beef and red cabbage because thats all Kroger had the other day .I cut the cabbage into fettuccine size strips and added onions and fresh tomatoes to the sauce and boy was it good . Just make sure to cook the cabbage until its done but not too done. I figured it would be good already knowing how well tomatoes and ground beef go with cabbage. Probably try a cheddar beefy mac cabbage next time .
Anna's Kitchen Very well done video, not like watching paint dry as with so many others. Very efficient, well paced, and organized which actually makes it more interesting and watchable. The base formula in the description box is helpful for people who don't cook enough. Well done. Thanks.
Kale works too. Kale works with many Italian dishes for added flavor with keto noodles or as a stsnd in. Also even better in spanish style dips with keto tortillas!
👍Giiiiirrrrrrllll....you are awesome! 😁Your recipes are gonna have me in a whole lot of trouble. 😍 What I love is that you put the recipes in the description box AND your recipes are true to what you make on camera!!!! Thank you. 🤗 It’s a pleasure to watch you work in the kitchen. It’s easy to follow your directions & instructions. I appreciate the work & effort you put into making and posting your videos. 🤗💞🤗
If you want your cabbage to be ready faster and don´t want to handle hot cabbage, just put it in the freezer 2 days before you´re making this and after one day put it in the fridge to melt! its much more easier and you won´t burn your hands! :) and the cabbage will be really soft and easy to handle.
I made this tonight as I have had a lasagna craving. Very good recipe. It was a bit watery but not a deal killer. I used ricotta cheese and did the cabbage in my instapot just to save time. It makes a big tray! Thank you
I think I'll go half and half, ground beef and Italian sausage when I prepare this. Also, I'll use a salad spinner on the cabbage. Thanks so much for another great low carb recipe!
Made it this week and was awesome. I cut recipe in half as there are only two of us! Still made a lot. I did drain off water after baked since cabbage seems to be watery. Will definitely make again. THX
I am so excited to find your video because, as a Christmas present, for a gluten free person, I thought about using cabbage and couldn't find a video. Thank you.
I made this and it’s cheesy and delicious. I used one stick of butter and ground turkey and made a side of vegetables with the remaining cabbage. Delicious delicious delicious 😋
I just finished cooking this dish. it is really delicious! I added fresh mushrooms, red and yellow bell peppers to the recipe. the only thing is, it was a little soupy. the cabbage was dry but it still came out juicy but it was very good
I can't tell you how hungry that has made me feel... subscribed... I can't do carbs like I could in my youth... so now have some great alternatives - Thank you.
I just want to thank you for this fabulous recipe. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be making it again tomorrow. I really appreciate it when good people share with others. Cheers. X
ok, so I made this tonight. Great recipe, very delicious. tasted just like lasagna. I used half lb ground beef, and half lb of ground sausage, browned with one fresh garlic clove, minced. it was good.
Have to try this! A method I will try to cook the noodles: My husband use to be a chef and he never cooked lasagna noodles before assembling the lasagna, no did he ever use those quick bake/ no boil noodles. He taught me that you bring your sauce to a boil first then carefully assemble the lasagna using that (stir the sauce frequently because you don't want to let it start to burn, you will taste "burnt" in the sauce/lasagna and have to scrap burnt sauce off the bottom of your pan when washing it). Having the boiling sauce and putting the lasagna into a hot oven is enough to cook the noodles. Never had one come out undercooked.
I’ve now made this dish 2 ways: with thoroughly cooked cabbage as stated in this video, and I also made it with only slightly cooked cabbage as someone commented. Definitely do it as the video states. If you don’t cook the cabbage thoroughly before assembling the dish, it will be too tough. Yes, there will be water released after the cooked dish is cut for serving, but you can mop up the water with a couple of paper towels. The dish is delicious.
Made this tonight just as you said, but cut it in half for two people. Now that RUclips says I can put a little red meat back into my life I got a pound of grass-fed ground beef and feel like it's heaven sent. Nice portion left for another day. Thanks
I just made this lasagna for dinner, and it’s amazing! Absolutely delicious. If you’re fond of cabbage and lasagna, you’ll flip for this tasty dish! Of course, I had to tweak it to my taste (I added dried minced onion and garlic to the hamburger as it was being browned). I also made sure the sauce was strong enough (added some Italian seasoning to the marinara sauce). I also took the advise of one of the other comments and used half cottage cheese and half ricotta. Somehow I forgot to blot the cabbage (duh!), and it was a bit soupy. But, despite that hiccup, it was delicious and I loved it! Now, the next challenge is seeing how well it does in the freezer. Living alone, I could never eat it all before it would go bad. So, I’ll keep half in the fridge and freeze the leftovers. I’m optimistic that it should do just fine. I think I’ll half the recipe next time, shouldn’t be that difficult! Thanks so much for sharing this keto dish, I so appreciate having a very outstanding and easy dinner alternative.
I'm making this tonight. I wish you had included the macros like you do for so many other of your recipes. I know this is going to be delicious. I have some mushrooms that need to be cooked and we love olives in our spaghetti sauce so I will add those, too.
Very Keto and very very good. Doing it again this weekend, was a huge hit with everyone, even the non-Keto, non-veggie lovers. Thanks again! I'm adding mega mushrooms this time though. Space saver and flavor addition.
Anna thank you for your. Recipe for lasagna cabbage. Sounds and looks good. My family likes cabbage and ground beef and pasta sauce. Going to make it one day this week. Have a great day.
I subscribed yesterday and made cabbage lasagna today and it is delicious 😋!! I used ricotta instead of yogurt and added sautéed mushrooms and onions but followed the recipe otherwise. Thanks for the awesome recipe!
You can drop the cabbage in boiled water. ie blanch. Put a lid on, wait ten mins strain. Or steam it. Then it's not waterlogged. I make my own tomato sauce with fresh herbs, half a grated onion and definitely fresh smashed garlic. A little bit of blue cheese gives it an interesting flavour.
A neat trick is to add a tablespoon of tapioca to the marinara sauce. After cooking the lasagna is firm and Stands up nice on the plate. No taste added. I also would add onion, garlic, and fresh parsley....and mushrooms! Now I have to try it!
Mmmmmm. Reminds me of cabbage rolls. But with cheese. Yum . Lower starch and carbs. I'm going to make it with more eggs. More low fat small curd cottage cheese. And fresh parsley in the cheese mixture. Going to the Kroger store tomorrow. Thank you for the video. My daughter is diabetic. She will love this.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this gem. Boy, was I missing "pasta" since starting this keto thing. I absolutely loved this recipe. The family won't touch it, I get it all to myself, lol. The best dish I've found in a long time. When I saw the video I knew it was for me, Miracle noodles going in the garbage. Cabbage for me from now on.
Ymmm.....this Cabbage Lasagna looks oh so AWESOME! From a guy who loves sauerkraut, coleslaw, fried cabbage,...well this sure is gonna be a big hit with me! Thumbs up Anna, subbin' ya and thankin' ya for another great share! :)
When I make lasagna I use cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, mozzarella and two eggs. I think I'll try this recipe but with garlic, cumin, and maybe smoked paprika as well as mushrooms and onion. Looks good though! Thanks for sharing

What a smart swap, using cabbage in place of lasagna noodles! Great recipe!
Its just deconstructed cabbage rolls with cheese on it... nothing special
Thanks for such a good video. I will deg try this. I appreciate how you went straight to the recipe and didn't make the audience listen to talk about other stuff.
I made this last night and they absolutely demolished it.. :)
I substituted ground turkey..
I can see sooo many possibilities with this..Thanks Anna.. :)
Great result. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
More Healthier with ground Turkey....

Well said Loving Atlanta!
I've never thought to combine these ingredients will prepare this very soon like the simple clear cooking direction.
If you want your cabbage to be ready faster and don´t want to handle hot cabbage, just put it in the freezer 2 days before you´re making this and after one day put it in the fridge to melt! its much more easier and you won´t burn your hands! :) and the cabbage will be really soft and easy to handle.
GREAT tip!! Plus it will lay down more like noodles.
Do you cook cabbage first and then put in freezer?
Heather Dawn nope. You don't need to. It will be very similar to cooking it once thawed. We done this when making Ukrainian cabbage rolls.
Heather Dawn no
Nice! Then some of the nutrition that would have been left in the water will still be in the cabbage. Thanks.
I made this tonight as I have had a lasagna craving. Very good recipe. It was a bit watery but not a deal killer. I used ricotta cheese and did the cabbage in my instapot just to save time. It makes a big tray! Thank you
That looks fantastic !!!!! YUMMMMM !!!!! Genius using the cabbage, which I love. :) Well done !!!!
Thanks so much :)
Not genius at all... ever heard of cabbage rolls? thats what this is but with cheese on top
This recipe sounds delectable and best part is the vegetable is low-carb and non -irritant...gotta try this one day ! thanks
I think I'll go half and half, ground beef and Italian sausage when I prepare this. Also, I'll use a salad spinner on the cabbage. Thanks so much for another great low carb recipe!
Oh heck yes! I always mix sausage and ground beef for my lasagna and chilie dishes! Great idea with the spinner too!
Thank you.

I’ve seen several versions of this recipe but this is the most in depth video and I really appreciate it ! 👍
Ikr, I think out of all the recipes I've watched this one is the best one!
