There are 2 more reasons to avoid EV cars
      1. Strong EMF-radiation making people dizzy and get other health issues
      2. Battery heating causing fires hard to stop => insurance will be more expensive, as well as (like now in China) parking house will ban EV for this reason
AVIS in the US sold all their EV because high maintenance costs. There is few moving parts => bigger and more expesive parts need to be changed after collisions etc
Fossil fuel is not fossil - since it's produced continuously and CO2 is not a problem => the whole EV thing is a big hoax

No suitable road system, no filling stations, parts and auto mechanics a rarity. Only the simple minded would argue today that we’d be better off with horses that eat grass and can be refuelled on the side of the road. Talk about people not going anywhere -

It will take time to work out all of the problems. The technology is still too new and expensive. Once they work the kinks out, and the tech has matured, EV’s might be a viable solution. Until then don’t try to force people to buy them. Work on fixing the problems with them. Talking about horses, that is a pretty “green” way of getting about. No fuels..no electricity, and they help fertilize the land helping plants grow when they poop.

Yes. That is today escenario. A few numbers a few years back auto sales were 80 million per year. This year sales will go to 70 million , but 14 milljon are electric. So the manufacture od ICE cars have droped from 80M to just 56 m per year. Too many manufacturers with too much excess plant capacity with too high labor rates. Result. Manufacturing plants need to be closed. lay off have to be done. Unions will strike making billions of losses to the manufacturers. ICE cars will become more expensive, and Ev are getting better every year and most importan a lot cheaper. As of today yoy can buy an EV in the US for al leat 10,000 less than an ICE car. That gap will only go up.

As a response though, how are EVs getting better every year? The battery is the biggest problem, and they are actually not getting better, and with bad quality control, they may be worse. Even if they improve, the infrastructure isn't growing anywhere near enough to support an increase in EVs on the road. There needs to be a whole new way to generate electricity. Most is produced using coal. There needs to be more charging stations, and a more effecient, and cheaper way to charge them. We are nowhere near close to making all electric a plausible reality.

They also wear out the roads faster, no one talks about the cost to replace those batteries or what effect the old batteries will have on the environment. The gas tax pays a lot toward roads, so where will that money come from with EVs. Many of the poor but gas cars at buy here pay here lots, what will they do if they can't afford an EV. Great concept but the true reasons current ev’s are not selling well is simple. They’re not long range. They’re to expensive and to expensive to repair. Has an issue of the battery spontaneously combusting. Again great concept but still in its infancy. There are other forms of power and much lighter that could be developed. It’s almost as if they are designed to support a market for replacement parts (battery), the gotcha moment!

@@arthurwoolsey7499we've taken four multi-thousand mile trips in our Tesla. Average charge times are 8 to 12 minutes. By time we use the restroom the car is ready to go. The new version 4 chargers are supposed to get that down to about 5 minutes. At home it may take 2 to 3 hours to charge, but I don't care. I wake up in the morning it's full, every day. Not having to stop at gas stations anymore saves me tons of time. Again, I can only speak to Tesla, but I'm never going back to a gas car.

(I regularly have to drive 250 kilometers over the Coquihalla Highway [TV's Highway through Hell] which has steep inclines, snow up to 8 months a year, & is frequently shutdown due to accidents so vehicles could be sitting on the highway for hours waiting for traffic). I will drive a gasoline car until these issues are taken care of.

Can you imagine going to your car in the morning to head off to work and there's zero charge after leaving it plugged in all night? Who can say that will never occur here in the USA?
I also read a story where an owner needed to replace his car's batteries and the cost was incredibly high. Turned out his cost per mile was way more than what i spend to run my 7.3L gas pickup.

I recently had a chance to drive a Tesla owned by my company for a few days, for a trip where I had backup plans in case charging wasn't available. It was fun! If not for the problems described in this video, I would definitely buy one for my personal car.
What I really don't understand is why the environmental activists decided in the last few years that plug-in hybrids aren't good enough, and everyone has to quickly go fully electric. Range extenders, which can drive as electric vehicles when the charge is available but can also run on gasoline when necessary, are the perfect bridge technology. They would create a demand for more charging capacity, while giving automotive engineers the real-world experience needed to design driving by battery power to be better in the real world. They would also allow each of us to see for ourselves how well battery power driving works in our specific situations, without stranding us when charging is unavailable. We could each then decide for ourselves when charging is reliable enough for us that we no longer need the gasoline backup, just like we each decided for ourselves when our cell phone was reliable enough that we no longer needed a landline.

First EVs are only good as a second local commuting 2nd vehicle. My next vehicle is a Hybrid. For range I want 8+ hours of battery life between mandatory charges and 800 Km range up hill dominant. With 15 minute rapid charge back to 100% for another 8+ hour drive. Lastly have a home charger and a solar charger for 25% charging in a Winter’s Day, December 22nd for example. So I can park and be recharged at a Public Charging Station after a Days Solar, especially when I return to the Car on the following morning. Then I will consider EV else Hybrid for now with duel GAS or Electric Charging.
For the Electric Car its self, I want all the operational software to be supported until I scrap, especially if it becomes a Classic. No updates or subscriptions to operate the vehicle and any Entertainment is separate from the operational software with an air gap. For instruments, power, range, speed, temp and life of battery all is part of the Operational Software, and is on the Driver’s Dash board, no touch sensitive to access, all values are present and accounted for, directly in view of the driver’s vision and not a Head’s Up Display or a digital display. Touch Display is for Shot Gun.

This entire video is bunk. I have owned Porsches, Audis, and Lincoln Continental. Compared to them I call my Cadillac Lyriq my Soso car. It’s so quiet, so smooth, so powerful, so smart, and so relaxing when driving in autonomous mode. It was rated at 300 miles per gallon but in warm weather it gets over 350 miles per gallon. A plug converter has been made and is now being distributed to enable it to charge in Tesla chargers. One comment I would made is that electric cars are a good choice for people who own their own home and can have their own charger. For most of us over 95% of our driving is local.when going long distance, you soon learn how to use the available tool kits to plan your trip to avoid any sort of range, anxiety.
