Most accurate comment ever.

Mine's full so I normally just watch it to add to my history and then forget about it.
I just watch it immediately because my watch later playlist is empty rn

How to stop procrastinating? Ok, let me watch this video first
Now I'm sad
Had the same thought xD
I almost procrastinated watching this video so I could continue procrastinating.
Honestly acknowledging that feeling of procrastination and being aware of those sensations rising up has helped me stop it from consuming me and helps me overcome it. Seems like a side effect of a meditation practice

I procrastinated and skipped my life actually the last 10 years, 2 weeks ago I just got 30 years old. Some months before that I started to think about my destructive way of living and why I hate myself and changed alot of stuff in my life so I can face and love myself again. Now this video comes up. Bit too late but it's kinda entertainining, since it nails my situation.
I can relate to that. Hope everything is going well for you.
It's NEVER too late. As long as you're living you can change. It's too late to change yesterday, but it's never too late to change tomorrow. (30 isn't even old tbh, don't wait until you're 60)
Can relate. Time to make a change. Thanks for commenting

Me too man. I've been really depressed lately and I think this is why.

I opened this in a new tab, played Apex for 2 hours, then watched it and went full oof
Lol
Summary: A- Pain of action: pain now and win the redemption that comes after
.
B- Pain of inaction:
1- like binge drinking on a Friday night you're just stealing the happiness from Saturday morning and
2- the debt you'll have to repay afterwards is far more painful than just taking the initial pain on the chin to begin with
3- the pain of inaction is a slow-burning degenerative pain that ruins every aspect of your life
4- by choosing the inaction route you become a softer person somebody who flinches at the
sight of discomfort somebody who can't get stuff done
5- and the consequence of that on a long enough timeline is you start to dislike yourself you start to
not believe in your ability to get things done and
6- your life situation starts to fall apart around you
7- you'll eventually dig yourself into a hole so deep that it seems impossible to get out
of until you're pained by the misery of your own existence
8- obviously this is really morbid but it's nonetheless true nobody can avoid pain in day to day life
9- pain is just something that we all have to deal with but thankfully we can
choose which pain we deal with
10- if you choose not to fool yourself and take the pain right upfront battle through the
discomfort of taking constructive action then you won't have this massive pain debt to pay and
11- the pain debt is the pain of inaction which is a lot more crappy in general
That's the whole script tho
My procrastination has gotten so bad that I dont even care about finishing my essay or math worksheet anymore.

Word for word the best description I’ve ever heard about procrastination and the outcomes it has. Inaction is far more dangerous and destructive. Overtime it has usually led to depression or a relapse.

@@work1008 English is a bit fucked up in spelling, yeah. In Hungarian we write what we say and say what we write, no need to think about the spelling (when I was a kid, I never understood why there are spelling competitions in the USA, because I didn't know then English). And there are a lot of word groups in English, each with a different rule. Sometimes the y turns to i, sometimes not. It's a bit confusing and easy to mistake.

“JuSt OnE MoRe ViDeO”
This video articulates this brilliantly. The pain of action often involves confusion, overwhelm, hopelessness and a sense of terror. This is when procrastination has been a way of life for decades. Turning it around is a monumental task. I guess it’s about starting small - and building the action muscle - taking the relatively small droplets of pain - compared to the overbearing inner pain of pro-longed procrastination. Prayers and good vibes to everyone on this journey
Needed this insight. Thanks man 👍
Is there a double suscription buttom here? I only read the tittle and knew this video was for me! Thanks for your time.

I think what you are describing as the "Pain of Action", or rather the solution to it is basically just enforcing a positive mindset.
Something I think is helpful in almost everything.
If you just make it a habit of laughing at the boring or cumbersome things you have to do, eventually you will genuinely find humor in it, and instead of it dragging you down,
You'll laugh at the fact that it does drag you down, how petty it is, and that that is a funny aspect of people in general.
The emotions work against you, and really kind of should be harnessed in these ways to work FOR you instead.
To be a consciously programmed emotional reaction that benefits you and releases chemicals in your brain that will make everything easier for you emotionally overall.
Rather than just let emotions be this thing that comes as you react to things and then it controls you.
If you break with these stupid mind games enough, you really kind of get a pretty powerful mind and outlook on life.
You take everthing just as seriously as before, but you just acknowledge the fact that FEELING bad about these things ISN'T going to help you in the least right.
Letting your emotions get to you that way, WILL all on it's own drag you down given the wrong mindset.
Consciously enforcing a positive reaction, breaks that and sort of reworks the associations you make in your brain to be beneficial, ESPECIALLY in the face of adversity!
It breeds true Courage and Strenght of Mind in the end 👍
Thanks for creating this video helped get started on some things I need to work on
Thank you so much for this. Puts things in perspective
Very articulate and well though out as usual. I agree that it's better to will yourself through a situation like you describe. However, I've done this for years and found that it catches up to you and can drag you done later. When I started learning values elicitation I began to understand that procrastination is just an unconscious value trying to be fulfilled. This is a part of you and if you don't go deeper with it and integrate it with the rest of your behavior, it will keep showing up as resistance. Once you integrate it though it's full stead ahead with complete congruence and alignment. This creates flow. Think about what a pilot does when he or she encounters turbulence. They fly higher. When you have resistance or inner conflict, keep chunking up to your highest values where there is not conflict and this usually integrates the lower level conflicting parts.
Great insight! Pretty engaging topic for a future video as well. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. I really like your content. Always interested in collaborating with people who produce quality content.
@@DamonCart
How do I integrate procrastination in a way that I don't end up procrastinating?
Elicit your values around what you want. Go really deep with this. What do you want? Keep asking what's important to you about that or what does that do for you? Keep going until you have no new answers. Make sure you write your values down because they're what's driving your decisions. When it comes to procrastination, assume there is a positive intent behind the procrastination and run the same process of eliciting your values. This process will change the way you think.
@@DamonCart your comments are as good as the video, I also felt procrastination is the manifestation of some imbalance between internal and external motivations. Problem is now I may have reached a point of procrastination being a manifestation of low self worth. Your comment made me realise I can turn this into a positive action, like aikido where one diverts the enemy's energy :)
