bens transformation has been nothing short of mind boggling, it makes no sense even with massive amounts of drugs, also bens lifting faces are the best in the game
Is it really that mind-boggling though? Bro just ate in a surplus, stuck himself with test, probably nandrolone, perhaps primo, and probably anadrol or dianabol, then trained like a bodybuilder for a few years...
His deadlift and squat were frequently very suspect, he had that fake lockout on the dead where he would shrug his shoulders, and his squat could turn into an exaggerated good morning.
Listening to and watching this really makes me think about how incredible Ronnie Coleman was. He didn’t even train powerlifting, he was strictly a bodybuilder and he was able to dead lift 800 lbs for 2 reps and squat 800 lbs and I believe his benchpress was at least 500 lbs for 5 reps. That’s insane weight for a bodyBuilder I would think.
Ronnie was a powerlifter before he got into bodybuilding and put out serious numbers. And he trained for big three occasionally later on. So your argument isn't valid
@@alex6629227 Playing devil's advocate, Ronnie could have been a lot lot stronger if he trained in a powerlifting style, not just competed once or twice in high school. You can tell from his bench technique he doesnt know how to arch and follows a bodybuilding style flared elbow/straight line benching. In his training videos he has virtually no setup as in establishing tightness or breaking apart the lift, he just yanks the bar over to do flared elbow, continuous tension half reps. Same with deadlift. He doesnt take the slack out, he just yanks it. This isn't a diss, I am just saying that he could correct technique, he could train leaving reps in the tank, he could practice speed training and exercise variations that create more strength and all this would dramatically increase his strength through efficiency and leverage and develop more max potential strength if he avoided failure and trained lower than the 10-12 rep range , which was his preferred rep range.
Love your videos! Coming off a shoulder surgery and haven't been able to lift since before it, yesterday was my first day back in a long time, your videos are one of the things that have kept me motivated to get back into it and I just want to say thank you!
Genuine question from a natty with little experience, to guys on gear/knowledgeable about gear. Do you think that his massive growth actually had anything to do with the change in training style or is it mainly the result of bumping up his dosages/altering his PED use?
I mean, back in his PLing days he competed at a level where takings tons of PEDs is the norm, and him being on top of the pack kind of makes it "a must". Still, I think it is a mixture of both. Progressive overload applied to Strength is specific to it, same to be said about hypertrophy, so yeah. From what I know, drugs are taken in higher amounts in BBing .
Powerlifters and strongmen on gear take far more than bodybuilders do. Bodybuilders often take 1g of testosterone a week, whereas top strongmen can take 10g. It's a rare breed that can tolerate that much gear.
It’s mainly due to food intake, you can’t grow what you don’t consume. Though without the gear and training, the size would just be fat. So the 3 together are important.
@@oliverphillips4568 it looks dangerous, same here! But its actually a technique to reduce the range :D. Your Upper Back can handle such stress, not like ur lower back. I wouldn’t do it all the time tho, just for pr like he did. I guess longterm its also not good

Ben was injured going into the most recent meet. Prior to injury he squatted well over 800, benched over 500, and deadlifted 800+ for reps. If he is fully healthy he will total over 2200 during his next meet.
No if he switched again he would loose tons of mass. Training to get big and training to get strong is really not the same. You can easily be strong and "small". Mostly CNS is worked and technique is perfected. For bodybuilding you want reps, time under tensions and to make the lift as hard as possible, completely opposite training methods. Long pauses vs short pauses. Fast lift (moving the weight from a to b) vs long eccentric and pump. You can be balanced but you won't excel at either.
That's a pretty misinformed comment. We don't have a side angle, but most of the rounding looks to be thoracic.
