Test your water. The water in the U.S. is clean and drinkable too. But people with a higher standard and a curious nature test their tap water to see if it could be cleaner. When I was in Netherlands the family I stayed with had a water filter. I guess they're just smarter than you?
this was helpful just bought my brita today amd noticed the water is wierd tasting a little. Come to find out I was suppose to clean the pitcher first.
+Kinglet Probably not following the instructions that come with the product. Like all the rest of the morons out there. If she didn't activate the filter with warm water or keep the filter wet . The filter will release the chemicals from the factory it was made in and small particles of what the filter is made of. Warm water cleans and "activates" the filter. Not such a bigge. Charcoal is harmless in that amount and the filter may be less efficient when not activated. Been a while but I think I remember correctly.
In the Netherlands tapwater is clean and drinkable. Can’t believe other countries have to filter their tapwater at home
Roan Buma - Yep. And very unfortunate for those who live in Flint, Michigan.
Same here in Croatia...and pretty much the rest of the Europe I guess.

+babigirl3206 Hi, I'm so glad the video helped you! Please subscribe if you haven't already :)
+babigirl3206 what were you doing wrong?

Okay seems like I did everything correct, except are you supposed to fill the pitcher so it is full? or just enough to cover the filter?
+anna_x Hi Anna, you can fill up the pitcher so it is full :)
+bestkitchenreviews thanks!
anna_x what is carbon dust, I bought one and I am worried. I don't know what is it?
I've got a Brita filter but it is stuck and I can't get it unstuck so that I can insert it in properly
Does this filter out RUST because I have rust in my water
probably not
Seriously go do something about that. Get new pipes or get something else done. That’s a serious health hazard.
Is it possible to reuse the filter?
Hi, you can shake up the filter and use it until the water coming out is slow. That means you have to replace the filter 😀
