* Bebop: Bebop, whose real name is Anton Zeck, is a recurring villain in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. He was originally a street punk and member of a New York City street gang called the Purple Dragons. After encountering Shredder, Bebop is subjected to a mutagenic process that transforms him into a humanoid warthog. Along with his partner Rocksteady, Bebop becomes a loyal henchman of Shredder and an adversary to the Ninja Turtles. Bebop is known for his tough-guy persona, distinctive mohawk hairstyle, and using a powerful energy pulse pistol in battle.
* Rocksteady: Rocksteady, whose real name is Ivan Steranko, is another prominent villain in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. He was initially a street thug and member of the Purple Dragons gang before crossing paths with Shredder. Similar to Bebop, Rocksteady is exposed to the mutagen and transforms into a humanoid rhinoceros. He becomes a formidable enforcer for Shredder and aids him in his plans to take down the Turtles. Rocksteady is characterized by his massive size, muscular physique, and his signature weapon, a powerful energy-draining blaster.
* Leatherhead: Leatherhead is a recurring antagonist in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, and his backstory can vary across different adaptations. Typically portrayed as a mutant alligator, Leatherhead has an ongoing grudge against the Turtles due to his belief that they caused his mutation. Despite his antagonistic nature, Leatherhead sometimes allies with the Turtles when facing common enemies. He possesses immense strength, a reptilian appearance, and often wields various weapons such as a large club or a harpoon.
* Superfly: Superfly, also known as Joey "The Fly" Moscato, is a character who appeared in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series from the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was a human criminal who had a notorious reputation as a skilled thief and smuggler. Superfly was often seen wearing a distinctive suit and fedora hat. He had the ability to fly using mechanical wings attached to his suit, which also contained various hidden gadgets. While not as prominent as some other villains, Superfly made occasional appearances as a foil to the Turtles, using his criminal expertise and flying capabilities to cause trouble.
These characters have contributed to the long-running battles and adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, providing memorable adversaries for our heroes to face.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is a 2023 American computer-animated superhero film directed by Jeff Rowe (in his feature directorial debut), co-directed by Kyler Spears, and written by Rowe, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit. It is the seventh theatrical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and stars Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon as the voices of the four Turtles. The ensemble voice cast also includes Hannibal Buress, Rose Byrne, John Cena, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Natasia Demetriou, Ayo Edebiri, Giancarlo Esposito, Post Malone, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Maya Rudolph. In the film, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtles set out to be accepted as normal teenagers through acts of heroism and find themselves pitted against a mysterious crime syndicate and an army of mutants.
Nickelodeon announced Mutant Mayhem in June 2020, with Rogen, Goldberg, and James Weaver producing under their Point Grey Pictures banner, and Rowe as director. Spears joined as co-director soon after. The animation was provided by Mikros
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was screened as a work-in-progress at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 12, 2023, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 2, by Paramount Pictures.

Who's picked up these Villains?!
I think they are brilliant. I was lucky enough to be in the store as they were being unboxed, I got those and splinter on Monday. 👍
I can't find them on Amazon at all how did u get them their?
Me I have all the turtles bebop rocksteady and splinter
They aren't even available online at Target, the only place I can currently find these
Also Leatherhead is female in the movie
It's worth noting that Leatherhead in this movie will be a saltwater crocodile rather than an alligator due to the fact that Rose Byrne uses her natural Australian accent to voice Leatherhead
Yep
He's dressed like Crocodile Dundee too, although that also seems true for the vintage toy. The hat detailing in particular stands out as being the same
Based on her size, I'd say she's a Freshie, but that depends on if she gallops or not.
They changed leatherheads gender?
I do like the looks of the villains esp rocksteady
I guess the lack of paint detail can be attributed as an homage to the original toys too. And maybe actually being released for kids as well as collectors. These look pretty solid and not over articulated to the point of fragility.
I agree about the articulation for sure!
I’m absolutely sure that super fly is indeed Baxter stockman they really are wearing the same clothes , thinking he gets a voice change with the mutation maybe a new attitude as well
Wouldn't that be fun (and a tad too predictable)? But it is confirmed that Superfly isn't Baxter Stockman, but was created by him. Turns out he was a scientist who was ousted by by everyone at T.C.R.I.
They handled rocksteady's head articulation really well. Usually its thag awful jusy 360 peg thing where it only lets you tilt left or right. This articulation may beeak up the sculpt, but at least its useful.
I've been watching since you were covering the 2012 series and I kinda forgot since I was little and a couple weeks ago you showed up on my recommend thanks for being my childhood youTuber
Glad you're back! Tons of videos to catch up on! haha
Great review! I just got the mutants recently and have been looking to paint their weapons and details! They're fun in their basic simplicity!
Great video. And Super Fly's ray gun, especially with what appeared to be a dial on the back, reminds me of the weapon from an '87 show episode where Shredder turned into a housefly and Michelangelo into a gerbil.
oh yea!
These are pretty interesting figures to be sure. They're definitely selling Super Fly as a major villain if the Shredder is not going to be showing up, look at his bio. He definitely has a big mobster/crime lord thing going on. Also, just because Super Fly and Baxter Stockman are voiced by different people, doesn't mean they're different characters. There's precedent for characters being voiced by two different people in the same production. For a Transformers fan like myself, the best example of this is Megatron and Galvatron from Transformers the Movie, as well as Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime. Both sets are different forms of the same character. Also, in the Mike Yong(SP?) He-Man series, Prince Adam and He-Man are voiced by two different people, yet they're the same character. And of course, the most famous villain of all time from any fiction, Darth Vader, is played by different people when it comes to his voice. So knowing this, it's likely that the two voices is a misdirect for Baxter and Super Fly in Mutant Mayhem. We'll see when the movie comes out.
As for the scale of the villains... Knowing how sales usually are, and that the turtles are the big sellers in the line, it's unlikely we'll ever see bigger figures for the villains who need to be bigger for scale purposes. Unless they do something like a two pack where they include a properly scaled villain with a desirable variant of one of the turtles. Knowing how things tend to be, the variant of the turtles would have to be the ones who have sold the most toys, as indicated by how many have desirable variants from past lines. Otherwise, big villains as standalone would sell poorly and Playmates would be selling them at a loss, so if we want properly scaled figures of the villains, we'll have to look for two packs with a must have turtle variant included as is often done for vehicles and playsets. It'd be pricey, but it's what would have to be done.
Very interesting take.
@@Pixel-dan Not feeling these and won't be picking them up! I much rather the Neca, Ronin and Mirage stuff!🐢🐢🐢🐢
Great video!! I love your background music is from the 1st turtles nes game.
Yes lo,l love it, I hear it while toy hunting. 🎧🎶
Amazing the mutant villains look like the original versions. I wish they had Slash and the Rat King in it. Also it's unown what happened to Shredder and Krang.
I think Shredder will be introduced in the next film. Maybe at the end of this one.
They don't really look like the originals. They look like garbage.
@@mathewbarrie the color design on clothes looks like the original. The body's are to fat.
I just found these I passed on leatherhead for now. & I took a liquid chrome marker. I painted in the details on bebops chain. & I did his spikes on his wrists. I also colored in the tail detail in back.
Love those liquid chrome markers!
I wasn't sure on that Rocksteady look, but it's growing on me. Loved the other three from the start though. Leatherhead with the big hip waders and shotgun, Superfly's chunky appearance, and I love me a big, stupid, Bebop. Looking forward to seeing how all of these characters are portrayed onscreen. Love the retro weapon inclusions too, which I'm assuming are just for the toys and won't be in the film, but we'll see!
He does have an interesting look.
Baxter Superfly, a nice tribute to Curtis Mayfield.
Super fly reminds me of lord drag from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 series because of the wings and the way that it looks but it’s more blue than purple
Dreg*
Interesting, the black paint on your Rocksteady’s horn is a lot more prominent than on mine or any others I’ve seen.
Also I don’t think it’s commonly known yet but this iteration of Leatherhead is female, which I think is pretty cool.
Oh! We already finding variants?!
@@Pixel-danpossibly, seriously take a look at some other rocksteady’s and see for yourself. I’ve not seen one with as black a horn as yours haha 🦏
I think this is great! I'll have to go get another one now!
According to a clip I saw, Baxter Stockman is Superfly's father.
After seeing these reviews, I think I’m all in! My son just turned 3 and I think he’s gonna absolutely love all of these! They’re colorful and silly-looking and right up our alley! I literally just saw the huge display at my Walmart this afternoon with a large quantity of all 9 figures in this first wave. At 10 bucks a pop, not bad at all!
So they're hitting WalMart now? Fantastic!
@@Pixel-danlove your vids bro watching since 2012
Thank you so much! Glad you're here!
Great notion, man! I agree, your son will have a great time ahead qith turtles toys! ❤Over here in germany I stumbled upon the first few figures myself today and bought mike and leo and an ooze canister. Hahaha looking forward to the villains and splinter! We have two packs here with one scratched up turtle and a villain. Only bummer all the toys a slightly more expensive than over there in the US at the moment
You dirty bastard, you survived 2. I'm still in the swamps of the two-year old monster.
FWIW Superfly seems to be designed to have the same posture as the OG Playmates figure. Similar to the Super7 Ultimates Baxter, if you try to stand them with the legs extended they fall over easily. But crouched with the legs bent, Superfly becomes a much more stable figure, resting on the back foot spurs.
True.
Baxter and Superfly are wearing the same clothes. It's the same guy.
Ya, I couldn't 100 percent tell at first but ya, he has the same tie and shirt.
Same afro as well.
Me and my kids were comparing the figure to the Baxter poster, and you're right, it's definitely him. Even the brown pants, and white sneaker is on the figure.
I noticed that too, I guess him getting mutated changes his voice
@@thetexastoyhunter6976 yeah, and personality like a Jekyll and Hyde I'm guessing. Should be cool.
I finally managed to find Rocksteady in stores, and I just now realized that they painted his arm wrong. Haha. The one you have to plug in, the whole upper arm there is painted like a yellow sleeve...that should just be gray to match his other arm. I wonder if that'll get fixed.
It doesn't look like the one I have in the video?
Still can't find the turtles but did manage to get this pack!
Playmates and Disney: "Let´s give our action figures weapons."
WB- The same people that let family friendly and adult properties in movies like READY PLAYER ONE and SPACE JAM 2, that hires McFarlane to design and produce their adult content , that makes R rated DC Comics movies and sells R rated DC Comics adult action figures: "Action figures? Hell no! Think of the children...even though we already do with Spinmaster!"
Thank you for this. Really enjoying this line.
Glad you enjoy it!
They did Rocksteady dirty. I hate his redesign.
I hate all of their redesigns. Especially Splinter and Donatello.
Facts 😂💀😂
I'm sorry you feel that way.
I wasn't a fan at first, But his design fits so well for John Cena
I like it
Got a Leatherhead today and the jacket had a clip aspect to it on the left sleeve... not sure if it's a variant of sorts or not
Character | Voice Actors
Superfly - Ice Cube
Leatherhead - Rose Byrne
Bebop - Seth Rogen
Rocksteady - John Cena
Also, Bebop aside from Donatello and Splinter is one per case sold on retail.
Don't forget Jackie Chan is splinter.👍
Oh yes!
Leather Head is voiced by Rose Byrne so it looks like they switched the character to a female for this version.
I noticed that the cardback refers to Leatherhead as “they,” so take that how you will. I guess we’ll see when the movie comes out.
Yep! Cant' wait for the film!
I’ve heard really good things, but as with many movies these days, I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much lol
That's fair. I think with Seth Rogen and The Director of Mitchells v. Machines it has a good chance.
Yeah, we LOVED the Mitchell’s vs the Machines!
Here in the Netherlands Leatherhead's packaging says Rocking Croc (in 4 languages) insread of Ragin' Cajun Gator
Yes I've heard about this and want to get my hands on those!
The Superfly figure was based on Baxter Stockman from an earlier version of the movie, since then the characters were split and Superfly was changed to the main villain.
8:59 actually that's meant to be an Australian crocodile Wrangler hat with the teeth on it similar to Crocodile Dundee seeing as this version of Leatherhead is an Australian saltwater crocodile
Yep
bebop is the best looking one, i wonder if his shades a separate piece? it does kinda looked like it is a separate piece.
Saw these at Target today. Pretty cool to see but left them for the kids to grab 🤙
Awesome!
Rocksteady rocks! 😎👍
I got the 6 pack exclusive set at Target today it has all 4 turtles, April and Bebop. I lucked out it was the last one priced 54.99
That’s awesome!
What throws me is that Leatherhead has hinged ankles and hinged wrists. But the Turtles themselves don't? Like what sense does that make?
Interesting point
Great video as always!
Now you gotta review Splinter! Also, there’s a target exclusive set with April available now. I would love to see you review it!
On the way!
@@Pixel-dan Awesome!
Superfly reminds me of Baxter, stockman’s 2012 allies that he created and maybe that’s what they are supposed to be but this one had a mind of its own and became the villain that way
I’m totally going to get that leather head & bebop because that’s 2 tubular figures
Yea!
Wooo you got them I’m getting my Leo and mikey tomorrow! I can’t wait!
Yay!
I’m gonna get Donnie instead of Mikey because of certain reasons but I’m still getting my fav turtles
This is the review I've been waiting for, mine stay in the box so thanks too you I get a closer look. Thanks Dan. 🍕
You're welcome, but you're really keeping them in the box?
@@Pixel-danYes I prefer them displayed like that. 👍
I appreciate that.
I’m not the biggest fan of Leatherhead’s gender swap, but this is definitely one my favourite Leatherhead designs
Glowing eyes are always cool
Yeah, the night-vision goggles are a GREAT addition to the design!
Cool toys collection 😊
I hope an updated Super Fly figure comes out based on his final design
I always have to have a giant fly man no matter who it turns out to be
Oh, is he your favorite?!
I feel like Rocksteady and Bebop would go great with my 2003 TMNT figures
Have not picked these figures up yet. But will soon.
AWesome!
Why superfly instead of the shredder. Just being curious
Not really a fan of these designs but Bebop is probably the best one.
Aca en mexico. Ya llegaron. Valen 15 dolares vale la pena comprarlos?
How did u find them on Amazon, I couldn't find them at all?
I found them at target.
Overall, I think they look cool. Leatherhead and Superfly are my least favorite. I might have to pose Leatherhead next to Furay Planet's Crocker figure! 🤣
Honestly, finding these in store has brought back great childhood memories of buying 3 Turtles (and a Dick Tracy fig) at Playworld (Astoria, NYC) after seeing the OG 1990 TMNT movie!
Hooray for childhood memories!
Great figures! However someone up in Playmates gotta work on scale man!
Honestly i'd be willing to pay more for villains who are scaled better
Ok
Great review! But you forgot to compare super fly with 2012 baxter fly.
Oh man! Opportunity missed!
@@Pixel-dan it's cool
Hey Pixel Dan on the poster it shows stockman with a green shirt and yellow tie on the figure ripped shirt stretched out tie/ i hope it is stockman
Awesome video
This has what has always bugged me about the TMNT toylines from Playmates. The villains being so undersized.
The vintage line got away with it cause the toys didn't resemble the cartoon counterparts 100%, but everything from the 2003 cartoon line on...
The 2012 line really bugged me about the scale issues cause ALL the villains were way bigger than the turtles in the show...and shorter in the toyline.
I wish Playmates maybe made two separate scales...like how Hasbro does Transformers. You'd have one scale for the human characters and turtles...and a larger scale for the larger mutants and stuff.
It always bugged me that Leatherhead's bio said that he was 12'4", but his figure only came up to the Turtles' waists.
Awesome
Love the movie and its figures!
me too!
There amazing I have the set
Shouldn't Superfly be Baxter Stockman?? I'm confused 🤔 they already had a Fly villain.
We shall see.
I am fine with the new Turtles Toyline, but agreed the Villians could be taller. Contains a lot of stuff and fun for Kids. Next lvl. Collecters can choose other Brands.
For me it is the best Bebob Playmates ever made, and to see all the overloaded Turtle Shelfs displayed in Stores liquids my 81er eyes 😂
Friday Cinema strikes back with my daugther 30 years gap between us but more Pizza more Punch.
These are peg warmers here, everybody's choosing the turtles rather than villains. Ends up them as left overs or peg warmers on the malls.
I got Rocksteady and he has 2 right hands.
Good video nice
Great coverage! Thank you! Enh, I think I'll give these a miss. Not a fan of the redesigns. They did a few nifty tweaks and details that I like, but the overall style just ain't my goblet of mead.
Hopefully its the kids goblet so they can enjoy TMNT as much as we did as kids!
@@Pixel-dan That would be great! So long as the properties we love continue to find new fans, there's always hope for more cool stuff in the future.
And they've teased a Ronin RPG
Cannot find these went 4 targets over the last two days
Oh man! That's awful! Where do you live?
TMNT Nostalgia
Yes yes!
Is their a shredder figure coming out
Depends on the film and where it goes
I went to a Kohls and found Superfly after a long time searching....and it lacked its antennae 😡
Is it possible a 2nd release of these with the antennae as a separate piece was released? I didn't buy it and I couldn't make out where the antennae would be...
My Leatherhead has, Rockin Croc, underneath his name, must be a European thing.
Maybe just a character description.
Same here, and I'm from the Philippines. Could it be that the international release outside of North America has "Rockin' Croc" instead of "Ragin' Cajun Gator" for a description? Also, are there variations--even the subtlest--in the figure?
@@julianthomas802 Hello, Philippines.
I'm thinking they just went with the old 1980s tagline for the character, before they cast Rose Byrne, because it takes 2 to 3 years to get toys made.
Superfly is totally wearing Baxter's clothes.
Yes he is. Theory is that it is Baxter.
I just got Bebop
I seen them in person yesterday. I was excited when I heard the line up for movie and then I seen the designs. Yikes. Leatherhead & Rocksteady are 2 of my favorite characters and these designs are terrible. But these look like great toys for kids
Yes! Great toys!
Playmates number one rule: " the bigger the character, the smaller the figure".
Ha!
Yeah, I didn't have many original TMNT figures, but I remember Leatherhead's bio card said he was 12' 4" tall, and his figure barely came up to the Turtles' waists.
superfly and baxter is the same character ???
It’s the tie
Did they really call Leatherhead "The Raging Cajun Gator" even though in this movie Leatherhead is a Female Australian Salt Water Crocodile?
Judging by her size, she's a Freshie. But yeah, it takes a couple-three years to make an action figure, so a lot probably changed form when they started toy production with the original character specs, to when the movie came out.
Molds aside.. I bet those literally cost about 5 bucks to produce. They are just a few joint cuts away from happy meal toys.
You think so?
@@Pixel-dan I know how cheap REAL toys are to produce those gotta be nuthin.
They are sick toys, but shame about their scale.
All the figure's should have STANDS INCLUDED !!!
Imagine if Hun and the purple dragon appeared in the movie voice by Brock Lesnar for the sequel that can have a rivalry against Casey?
Oh, I like this idea!
YESSSSSSSS!!!
You like?
WOW = World of Warthogs
Maybe he tattooed it on himself and it is "MOM" upside down
@kaiyoy6363 yeah, definitely not putting it past him. Something Bebop would do. Maybe Dan is right and maybe we won't even find out in the movie
Wait, isn't Leatherhead a girl in this movie? The voice sounded feminine
Yes, she is.
Didn’t they say that leatherhead is actually female this time cause rose Byrne is voicing the character?
Yeah, but its a small mistake for Dan. Knowing him he'll probably acknowledge it at one point
I will! Sorry guys!
@@Pixel-dan not a problem. I was afraid “those” people would be threatening you for a simple mistake
@@TheJManOrRiot yeah, I know always makes small things like this from time to time. But hes still a fan and admits that hes human as well
@@aoinatafanboy84 we all are
I have Superfly
I got the two pack Leonardo and superfly! Is the single wing very loose for anyone else?
Bebop looks good despite his dad bod but Rocksteady looks like a hunchback, and they're too short compared to the turtles.
These figures are looking good. Not a fan of the new Designs of the 4 TURTLES.
But you do like the villains?
@@Pixel-dan Yes. I just started collecting the original TURTLES-figures from PLAYMATES from the 80ies. I like that Version of the 4 TURTLES. But the villains are looking cool in almost every Version to me.
Am I alone in thinking the Mutant Mayhem designs are dreadful?
Everyone has an opinion.
I don't like 'em, I don't like the artistic style, but I like that they're keeping TMNT going, at least. Heck, I didn't like the artistic style of "transformers Animated" or "Rick & Morty," but I ended up loving the shows.
Just letting you know Leather head is female in this film!
Yes, over site from years.
The Villains look like they are too small with respect to the Turtles....
Maybe but maybe not.
They always did, though. Leatherhead's original bio card stated he was something like 12' 4" tall, and his action figure barely came up to the turtles' waists.
Probably just a production issue and keeping htem in the same blister. Like why SHredder and Foot clan crouched in the originals.
Leatherhead is female though lol. Gonna assume since its Rose Byrne
Not to mention being a saltwater crocodile rather than an alligator due to speaking with an Australian accent in the trailer
Actually Leatherhead will be a female in the film.
Ha. Yes. I made a mistake. Sorry.
A leather head is a girl now
Bereflo
The reason I didn’t buy these is the terrible scale. I would’ve gotten over the ugly designs but not both that & scale. Oh well
That’s Too bad. I think they look great.
@@Pixel-dan I ordered the turtles at least. Still not a fan of the art design. Especially Raphael being a meat head.
After seeing movie trailer, I was like yeah I'll pass. The movie looks horrible! Thats not TMNT! But now after seeing these figures, I must say, yep, it's official. I'm passing on the movie and toy line. It all looks bad.
That’s unfortunate. But for people who are turtles fans I think we are just excited
