Hey everybody! I sent Tawra an email but I wanted to let you all know that I finally got a chest freezer and I’m finally able to take advantage of the savings from the sales. Hoping to get lots of meat during the summer sales before they all end. Labor Day will probably be the last of those sales but I’m hoping to have enough meat to get through till spring. My husband finally is getting it! That’s the biggest story of all. The debt I do have is on 0% credit card right now and hopefully will be paid off soon.
I have found that my frozen meat needs to be very well wrapped and not left in freezer more than 4-6 months. We lost several packages of ground beef that was just put in freezer bags and left no more than 6 months. It turned gray and didn't taste good. It might be good to just keep your eyes open for good sales and keep for a few months. I also home can meat, and that lasts at least a year and a half.
Would you do a video on making homemade Greek yougert? As much as I would love to have your cookbook, I dont. Thankyou! Btw, pretty kitchen and pantry. I have been making sourdough breads for the last year. It has been so much fun. 🙏🌞
You can also get powder form Gator Aid in a canister at the store or the big box place much cheaper than the bottled type of same. If you really like Gator Aid.
It drives me crazy when he buys those junk Little Debbie's and other junk. We both have stomach issues and can't convince him all that sugar doesn't help. I cut out a lot of sugar and am improving. I do better on simple foods without junk. Eat a lot seasonally from the yard and some can be preserved. My snack today was a cucumber. Made 4 quarts of pickles so far. Still waiting on tomatoes, etc to make homemade salsa, tomato based products. I dehydrate and can alot. Can't wait til fruit trees produce.
Also, store-bought cookies. I just tried your peanut butter cookies recipe for the first time. It was the best and so inexpensive! I love your channel and cookbooks!
Yep loved the peanut butter biscuits/cookies...but here in NZ using all the peanut butter would cost me...and the other ingredients if I made them all the time that is...even our peanut butter is expensive over here...oh well but hey yummy yummy yummy...thanks for that Tawra...
Please share recipe of how to make yogurt . I’ve heard some people make it in crockpot but I’ve never tried it. Tawra ,GREAT to see you ! Love your whole family !! God bless y’all ❤
Stopped buying cereal. I make my own granola. Too hard to find real peanut butter. Started making our own. Buy frozen fruit. It is cheaper and less likely to go to waste. Best tasting frozen: blueberries, cherries, pineapple.
Store Brand powdered PB is inexpensive, shelf stable, healthier, easy to use in baking, and great as a PB spread, and safe for pet treats. Try it in Greek yogurt with a little vanilla, maple syrup and mini chocolate chips. It’s like a healthier yummy cookie dough tasting treat!
I buy orange juice once a month, when its under $2.00 milk I buy only Quarts 2 times a month, no granola bars, don't buy the small chip bags, no to cut up fruit or vegetables trays, yogurt is just gross I need to start making it 😊
I make Greek yogurt in my instantpot (saw it on 6 sisters stuff RUclips channel) but😢. So easy just ultra filtered milk , 2 tblsp Greek yogurt (I find using full fat yogurt starter works best, doesn’t matter if you use skim milk or full fat. I use 2% milk because I want some fat) 2 tblsp sweet condensed milk (optional)or more. Put all in instant pot, hit yogurt setting. 8 hours and done just put in fridge over night. Used to do it in crock pot but too much work because so many steps. Even with ultra filtered milk it is still cheaper than buying it made at grocery store. You get twice the amount of yogurt. And I got my instant pot for free .
Tawra , hope you are feeling better. Looking forward when u are ready to get back. Do enjoy your mom and Mike videos , just missing some Tawra the 3 musketeers. God bless and May your family be covered with the Precious Blood of Jesus.
Hi Nancy, We do have one in our Dining On a Dime Cookbook Volume 1 available here shop.livingonadime.com/ but we do not have one published on our website. -Mike
Unfortunately, we get a lot of requests for a lot of different diets, but ebcause our time is limited, we can't do them all. We don't have plans to make specifically keto recipes at the moment...
Hey Tawra, I agree!! Oh yeah creating YOUR recipes from YOUR Cookbooks is fun and easy AND fresh and smells wonderful while baking!!! Tawra, Everyone needs your cookbooks!!! 😃❤️
Where are the videos of your older son when he was sick ? Final DX , symptoms please ?My 21 grandson recently put on weight , up all night ,the past week his hands and feet feel numb . Drops his phone He doesn’t have good insurance recommended a neurologist. Help please and prays for jonathan .
I know vitamin b 12 deficiency can cause hands and feet to go numb, please start vitamin b 12 immediately. It can be dangerous if not treated. I’m not a doctor so please seek medical help and mention b12 deficiency. A good diet is a must. Prayers for Jonathan. ❤ edit to add, eat fish, meat, eggs, milk. I think the better form of vitamin b 12 is methylcobalamin.
I remember when yogurt was in 8 oz. containers. Shrink-flation. Easy to make.
Well said, Tawra! Those foods don't just destroy grocery bills, most of them also destroy teeth & waistlines! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

You can also put a pinch of salt and sugar in your water for rehydration
Just make sure it is sea salt or Himalayan salt to get all the micro-minerals.
No sugar but salt
I didn't know they sold electrolyte drops! I am going to look for them! Thanks!
Here are the ones I use (affiliate link) Electrolyte/Trace Mineral Drops amzn.to/43X8fAM
Love your kitchen!
I must be doing good I haven't bought any of that stuff you mentioned in years
Everyone should find a bread outlet by them if they can. The savings is surreal!
