  • The ACON Flowflex COVID-19 Lateral Flow Test is by far the easiest to use and most accurate COVID test available in the UK. It is designed specifically for self-testing and to be used in the nostrils only. The NHS Test and Trace service has now begun using this as their primary test for mass testing in the UK.

    My mother actually has COVID-19. I test my self but didn't blow my nose first like you said. nothing in the instructions mentioned that. Also i swirled around the solution for about 15 seconds, not quite 30 seconds and tested negative. With the drops, it doesn't really matter if you go over 4 drops does it. I think i dropped about 6 drops in the solution by accident. I get a bright pink line on mine under the C but no visible line under the T.

    • @newleafhealthltd
      @newleafhealthltd  2 года назад +3

      It's definitely worth blowing your nose, as it helps to get rid of any excess mucus that could affect the consistency of the solution, if it gets caught on the swab. It's important to swirl and pinch the swab in the buffer tube for at least 30 seconds to ensure you get the best sample possible, as you may only have small traces of the virus in your sample, so need to ensure you mix the best solution possible. If you add more than 4 drops you can risk oversaturating the cassette, so it's definitely advised to only apply 4 drops to the sample well. Hope this helps!

      @newleafhealthltd  2 года назад +1

      We can't say one way or another, as there isn't enough research into this yet to confirm. However, from a practical point of view, if you are cleaning the inside of your nose immediately prior to testing, it stands to reason that you may be clearing out traces of the virus.

    I just took one of these test. C = Covid Postive? & T = ? Help me out

    • @newleafhealthltd
      @newleafhealthltd  2 года назад +4

      'C' is the control line, indicating whether the test has been done properly. This line should always show up red. If it doesn't your test is invalid and you'll need to perform another one.
      The 'T' line indicates whether or not the COVID virus has been detected in your sample. If there is a line next to the 'T', even a very faint one, this likely means that you have COVID and should confirm with a PCR test (or follow government guidance at the time).
      To summarise:
      - Red C line but no T line = Successful test, COVID negative.
      - Red C line and red T line (even faint) = Successful test, COVID positive.
      - No C line and red T line = Invalid test, perform another.
      - No C line or T line = Invalid test, perform another.
      Hope this helps!

      Fortunately, this test is only designed to be used in the entrance to the nostril, not all the way up the back. It can tickle a little bit, but the swab heads are a little chunkier than older tests, so they're a bit less ticklish. The Flowflex test is definitely one of the most comfortable tests available!

      @@theoneandonlykyle9800 Don't worry, you're doing the test exactly right! The C line means you've done the test correctly, and usually shows up with a minute or two (but more often than not, straight away). The T line will show up at some point within the 15 minute window if it detects the COVID virus in your sample.
      If, after 15 minutes, you only have the C line show up, that means you've done the test correctly and didn't have COVID at the time of the test.
      If you have a C line and a T line, that means you have COVID.
      If you have no lines at all, or just a T line (without the C line), this means the test wasn't performed correctly and that you should do another one.
