because you love possums so much, i have a funny little possum story to share from just a few days ago. my mom and i were doing the thing we do every weekend and going to look for wildlife. we were hearing an owl nearby and were looking in the trees. about thirty feet away, we caught some eyeshine and a little white blob in a tree. very quickly and efficiently, i helped my mom get her camera, change lenses, and ready a photo while keeping the light on this supposed owl. we thought it was weird how still it was sitting and how little it cared for us; typically the owls we see, especially during dusk, are active and therefore feel comfortable to leave their tree to find a new location in their territory. when we got closer, it was in fact not an owl, but a possum trying to relax in the tree. super funny situation that i won't be forgetting any time soon.
Opossums are so neat aren't they! I had an encounter with a opossum a while back. It was late at night and I had to take my dog outside, he saw the opossum and tried to befriend it lol. It casually walked away into the bushes. Such chill little guys
@@SunneyRabbit they are just neat little guys. i had one for a few months as a pet when i was younger. his name was buddy and he was always a pocket pal. we ended up giving him to a nearby zoo because we couldn't take care of a full sized possum. second possum we had/rescued only lasted the night because she had an injured tail and needed to go to a local wildlife vet. i definitely felt like the coolest kid in the world because i had a pet possum for a few months. still have that because of my birds and frogs, but my mom has never lived down her sudden rescuing of wild animals. one of my two birds was scooped up by her while she was at work. i love funky and non-traditional pets.
