Alec rase ..you can do top crust by putting dough on parchment and just pressing our with your hands into large circle just like she did with the bottom. Lift parchment over pie and gently peel it back from the dough circle. Easy and works.
Thanks Karen! I'm interested in using a similar method for a chicken pot pie today, I just need to figure out how to make a top crust for it without rolling.
+Alec Rase Your welcome! That is a good idea. Maybe you could just double the recipe and save half out for the top half. You would have to roll out the top half. Let me know how it turns out!
@@CookingLessonsforDadchicken pot pie is what I'm looking up crust recipes for as well. I was just thinking about doubling the bottom crust, but then just par bake them. Then I'll go ahead and cook up the filling in a pot (I like my veggies sautéed and and chicken browned anyway). Then I'll fill the bottom crust and then crumble up the top crust and sprinkle it on top, then bake it all together for a few minutes to finish it off.
@@CookingLessonsforDad IL Be glad too! I think, though, since I'm baking it in my ninja foodi pressure cooker on the bake setting, I'll turn the temp down to like 325 for the final bake. The foodi cooks a bit faster than my oven.
This is the easiest pie crust ever! It is pretty healthy too. I am making this pie crust with my Vegan Pumpkin Pie. They are perfect together!
