I have been to Dubai 4-5 times and trust me when I came there for the first time, I didn't feel any anxiety that a first time traveller faces when travelling to an alien country. I sincerely believe Dubai and India can continue to set examples of celebrating diversity that exists both in India and UAE. Awesome video!!!

I went to a Indian school but we were taught arabic and also Kuwaiti history I am glad I did learn it, languages are awesome to learn and the customs and history of every country. I have lived in Bahrain as well and I visited Dubai last year I now live in Australia
The people of UAE and Dubai in particular are amazing people. They are so open minded and welcoming. I love Emarati people. I'm Indian. God bless Dubai and the UAE.
Thanks Peyman for a great video from a Canadian born, Swiss schooled pro. of Indian origin who ran into some trouble at Dubai airport re: missed flight. Dubai treated me strictly, professionally and eventually even friendly but one thing; it was nowhere as crazy as India where I carried myself off with privilege thanks to my insights of Indians. Personally, I think Dubai is more tolerant and cosmopolitan than India is at this time of it's long history - a mix of arrogance and ignorance in a less than typical Indian way.

Peyman - My Dad worked in the Gulf for more than 35 years and spoke Arabic fluently. He could also read because his Dad taught him Urdu. He taught me and my sis the script as well. We can still read but we don't understand as much, because we never developed a solid vocabulary and didn't really have a need to ever speak it, since English was used so widely throughout the Gulf. Let us know if you are ever back in the Houston area, would love to have you visit. Best Regards.
What a beautiful video.. absolutely loved it... reminded me of my days in Dubai... God I miss Dubai so so much... Always want to move there... Thanks Peyman for this nostalgia :) Do this stuff regularly 👍🏻

I moved to Dubai last year from India and have met so many Sindhis and Punjabis here, more than I met in India. It truly feels like home. Now if I only figure out how to stop my hair from falling, I will never go back from this multicultural hotspot. From a young Sindhi.

The majority of Sindhis are Pakistani. The only non-Pakistani Sindhis are the Hindus and they're usually considered Dalit in Hindu caste system. The Muslim Sindhis are all Pakistani
@Sharnie: FYI, there are many hindus - sindhi in Pakistan (writers, artist and fashion designer) majority of Sindhi Hindus living in Pakistan and many migrated to other countries, sindhis are hard working people all around the world.
I am not a Sindhi and I wish to correct your impression of caste system. Sindhi community, unlike a large number of non-Sindhi Hindu communities has no caste system or do not emphasize caste. The rest of India looks at them not as Dalits, but approximates them to the business caste of Vysyas. Even that is not correct because there are many Sindhis who are scientists, scholars, artists and what have you.
Wonderful video.Thank you Sir for bringing back some great memories. I lived & worked in Bur Dubai (near Astoria hotel) for 12 years from 1986 to 1998.
What!!! People don't know arabic and can survive in Dubai ??? As a Indian that shocks me. Comeon my fellow indians that is not fair! You MUST learn arabic as a courtesy to the host country. I have gained new respect and appreciation for the Dubai Arabs. Soo tolerant and this changes my view entirely of Dubai. RESPECT!
I'm an Indian who has been in UAE since 2004 when I was 6 years old. I learned to speak and write Arabic from school and my parents but forgot my mother tongue. Now I'm in india for higher studies and have begun to forget Arabic while I'm relearning my mother tongue and the cycle continues P.S I MISS UAE😍😍😍😍😍

An honest job opens doors to happiness, good health and safety that is only possible in Dubai. We will be returning to Dubai soon and hope to restart our lives in a community built on respect and dignity for all.
I read somewhere that 2 brothers moved to Dubai from India long time ago, one lived in Bar Dubai and the other in Diera, they were known by locals as Do-baiy (2 brothers) and thats where the name Dubai came from :)... great vlog :)
Histrionically the root word is Dopey ( Persian loan word for two bases) referring to the main entrances that the natural Khour (Creek) creates in the current city thus cutting it into two main sections ( Deira & Burdubai)...thats what our old timers grandparents and greater grandparents used to tell us.
Thank you for such a lovely video - it’s fantastic that so many Indians (like many other communities) call Dubai home. It’s a beautiful city and such an amazing melting pot of several cultures! And great to see that the younger generation is acknowledging the contributions of other cultures to the city’s development and progress. Ekta - about time they put you in charge of Dubai Information and Tourism!! 😘

Great video and even better questions! Peyman, I think your interviewing skills are very good. Maybe Visit Dubai could use your help in promoting tourism.
Hi peyman ! I think another reason why we do not speak arabic or speak broken arabic is because the lack of attention given to languages in the indian education curriculum ( cbse ). We are taught arabic from 1st grade right upto 12th grade and most of us are pretty well versed in reading the language but do not understand the meaning of what we are reading because how languages are taught to us in this curriculum. Also, learning languages is never taken as seriously as studying Mathematics or Science in indian schools. Science/Maths teachers often take arabic classes to complete portion. The same applies for Hindi. This is a students point of view. :)
This is awesome. Will you be talking about the Filipino OFW community in one of the upcoming episodes? My moms side is Filipino and growing up I have had relatives/ family friends living and working in Saudi, UAE and Dubai.

I find it interesting that your Sindhi friend says Bombay instead of Mumbai, because it makes sense that her references to Mumbai are from before 1995 when the name changed officially.
This is your more educational videos and no disrespect to the rest of your vids as they are 100%! This should be a weekly trend or perhaps a series of 'historical' insights. Historical Mondays? Start the week with a bowl of knowledge! Hope you're well though.
Love your videos and interest you take in learning about other communities! I had similar questions about immigrants learning Arabic too. I don't live there but thanks to translated songs and subtitled shows like Khambalah (KSA), I figured that Arabic and Gujarati, two languages from different families, have some similar words! I'd love to learn proper Arabic someday
Hey great video! Nowadays I'm starting to see ads on your videos as well, that's great for you! you should do a video on the 'Malayalee community' in UAE
I'm sindhi muslim from Pakistan sindhis are one of greatest business people in histroy still sindhi dewan hindus memon and sheikh muslims has continued their forefathers tradition of business and they are one of richest communities in pakistan proud of sindhis around world peaceful progressing humble ..
Salam-u-alikum...the Arabs historically had a rich trading setup with India especially the spice trade with Kerala. The first mosque in India is suprisingly is in Kerala. The Muslim trading community in Kerala have historical connections to Arabian Peninsular. I myself was raised in Abu Dhabi in the 90s. One aspect in schooling was that Arabic was compulsory and the U.A.E social studies which looking back was fantastic because it exposed children to be culture of U.A.E and other GCC states. This is very important as it expands the horizon of understanding and appreciation of another culture which forms basis for tolerance.
Hopefully India will also have many Dubais in the future. We have already started our smart city program and the construction of Amaravati city is coming up well. Funny, Amaravati sounds like Emirati.
I love your videos peyman. They remind me of when me and my wife went to the beautiful city of dubai for our honeymoon. Such an amazing city you feel like youre in a movie its something else! So thanks for making these vids and bringing back memories!

I find it interesting that your Sindhi friend says Bombay instead of Mumbai, because it makes sense that her references to Mumbai are from before 1995 when the name changed officially.
Very informative.... Glad to see different prospective of Dubai other then typical glitz and glamour most often portrayed.
I like this video. Liked the idea of Author to bring this part of the story and being respectful to the community.
This is your more educational videos and no disrespect to the rest of your vids as they are 100%! This should be a weekly trend or perhaps a series of 'historical' insights. Historical Mondays? Start the week with a bowl of knowledge! Hope you're well though.
Thank you. Great ideas. More of these are planned so stay tuned.
Very nice keep it up....from india
Thank you so much.
The Views just boosted cause of the Indian community !!!
Yep...super awesome support from everyone. I am humbled.
First timer. Lovedddd the tube. Thank you
Excellent video, enjoyed the talk !
Thank you so much. Wow i had no idea those two languages were connected. Thanks for sharing.
I love what you put on you tube, you're fantastic Peyman.. Carry doing what you do bro'
Hey great video! Nowadays I'm starting to see ads on your videos as well, that's great for you! you should do a video on the 'Malayalee community' in UAE
Thanks. Yes more happening on the channel which is nice. There will be episodes on the Malayalee community as well. Stay tuned.

🇮🇳
Dubai is truly the best place to be for Indians. There should be more collaborations between India and UAE Govt. FYI Awadhi is a language in India.
I enjoyes all your videos I got from mark wines
You are always welcome to kerala
Peyman ..good job ..enjoyed it .. You now that Indian community here is so diverse ..so many sub-cutures .. would love to talk o you and update you
Hopefully India will also have many Dubais in the future. We have already started our smart city program and the construction of Amaravati city is coming up well. Funny, Amaravati sounds like Emirati.
Just subbed! Your channel is great and unique.

Interesting video of the Sindhis in Dubai. Quite entertaining and informative 😊
How ???
@@91099Babar What's your question ?
How come you feel to support a video whose unwanted community social norms were based on Corruption, Fraud and Crime ? If you know exact history of Sindhis .
@@91099Babar Well I don't support any community except Paymen who made this video. My statement was for him.
I know how Sindhis, Gujaratis & Marwaris are. They are all the same.
Hey got a new fan and a follower from USA Italian guy loves your channel . Me and him talk about you lol
Wow amazing! Thanks
Excellent vlog ! Can’t believe this is from an Emarati.
Kudos !!
Peyman, I was born and raised in Kuwait and tried my best to learn Arabic in school. Sadly, I can read but can't understand or converse in Arabic. It's my greatest regret.
Once again great content and a well spoken guest but i was waiting for you to go and grab a kadak towards the end of this video.
