When I was in Dubai, I had the privilege of hanging out and eating with my friend Peyman (ruclips.net/channel/UCu2S.... He’s from Dubai, he loves to eat, and he knows some of the best food spots in Dubai. So in this Dubai food tour, we went around and ate Emirati food, rice and lamb, street food, karak tea, and finally ended with home cooked Emirati food at Peyman’s home.
One thing I want to quickly mention, and Peyman and I discussed this in the video as well, is that Emirati food at restaurants is still not very common in Dubai. This is because there are so many international restaurants in Dubai, and local Emiratis typically just eat their food at home. But things are changing and there is starting to be a higher demand for Emirati food in Dubai.
Al Fanar Restaurant - One of the only full Emirati food restaurants in Dubai. We ordered Luqaimat, Tharid, Madrooba, Balaleet. All the food was fantastic, and it’s a nice environment.
    Total price - 280 AED ($76.21)
Karak - 0.50 AED ($0.14) per cup - This is originally adapted from India, but it’s a full part of the culture in UAE, and you can get cups of karak tea right to your car.
Al Marhabani Restaurant - Mandi is one of the greatest Arabian food dishes, originally from Yemen. It includes rice and meat that’s traditionally cooked in an underground oven. The lamb here was outstanding.
    Total price - 200 AED ($54.44)
Al Labeeb Grocery - Regag bread - This is a little gem of a shop that Peyman took me to. They make some Dubai street food style crepes with cheese and fish sauce, and it’s awesome.
    Price - 6 AED ($1.63) each
Machboos - Finally at Peyman’s house for dinner, he cooked machboos, one of the national dishes of UAE. It was a great way to end this Dubai food tour!
Thank you for watching this Dubai food tour!

Beautifully detailed video. Although long videos are very boring but this was very informative and interesting at the same time.
I just cant figure out that how many cameras were there, one was hand held what about the other one? And how were you able to see yourself when you were holding lumix?
      Once again, excellent execution.

I love seeing my favorite couples hanging out. Love this middle east series by the way. Way too many negative images of the middle east in the media, so it's nice to see some positives being displayed for a change!

That was a good video and Mr. Peyman was a wonderful host. From my observation, I think Peyman is Iranian by origin and probably living in Dubai, or even was born there. He is familiar with the local tradition and he really tried his best to show you what's available and he did a good job. However, few facts need to be known, the first one is, there is no such thing as Dubai food. Basically, the entire region consisting of UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait share the same food all over, and sometimes, each country might have a slight twist to each in terms of spicing and/or methodology. The second thing, with all due respect to Peyman, the fish sauce bread (Mehyawa) is an Iranian cuisine. It is definitely not a traditional dish, although you will find it served in some neighboring countries. By the way, there are many local dishes that you need to experience and try out. Finally, you both did a good job and my comments are by no means meant to offend anyone, I just wanted to clarify some points for those who are not familiar with our culture. Good luck

i just subbed to your channel as well. Thank you for sharing your videos. I want you to know, that even though our "leader" is a complete moron, not everyone in the USA hates the Middle East, its people, or its culture. I have yet to meet an Arab or Iranian that was not one of the nicest people. My first encounter with a man from Saudi Arabia (so many years ago now), and I was invited to go to his Mosque. So gracious, so generous and absolutely the nicest man. His family was amazing. I know, for myself, that regardless what a lot of people think, Middle Easterners are not ultra militant terrorists that want to destroy America. Your trip with Mark hopefully has shown more people that as well. On behalf of the more open minded, thank you for befriending Mark, sharing your home and culture in Dubai. I look forward to seeing more videos from you as well.

I don't know why I repeatedly torture myself with Mark's videos - I get so freaking hungry every time I see him eat all sorts of great foods from all over the world. Imagine my disappointment that I'm about to have a "sandwich" for lunch - two slices of bread, slice of Salame from local Safeway, lettuce, tomato, mustard. Not even cheese since I ran out of it.
Mark - maybe you should come back home and do a video of all us unfortunate souls barely swallowing our bland foods and lacking your trademark awwwwwwww/whooaaaa expression. There are absolutely no flavors bursting in my mouth when I disappointingly devour on my slice of bread, your videos are dreamworld to me.

Awesome! Really, it's a 100% pleasure to visit Dubai and taste Emirati food. My favourite dishes in this video were the Ragag Bread (Bread with a dosa shape and texture), the way in which it was made & cooked, Luqaimat (Golden sweet with a Gulab Jamun shape), Emirati Coffee and the final rice dish cooker with steamed fish.

I have a question. Why is your firstname Peyman ? Peyman is a Persian/Iranian name not arabic. is there a special story behind it ? your last name however is arabic. I'm curious to read your reply.

What a sunny smile ! What's it with people named Peyman anyway ? I knew an Iranian guy named Peyman from my University group. Most chilled out, positive guy ever.
