That's been exposed to the sun without ceramic coat . Here in Arizona regular paint looks like that on top panels. Looks better how it came out in the end congrats.

3m and avery wraps are easy to work with. My first DIY wrapping project was with a Canadian vinyl brand called vvivid and out of 10, they're like a 8.5. Usually, cost of a wrap depends on the brand and material. Chrome finish are very expensive, price range can be anywhere between 1k to 3k. Matte and satin finish can cost anywhere between $400 to $800 for a whole roll and the gloss finish can be anywhere from 500 to 1k. Again, price varies between the brand and finish.

i picked up my VR4 as a salvage and i'm almost ready to start dealing with cosmetic issues. i have a lot of my clear coat pealing and there are some dings that have chipped through the paint. the main question that i have is what kind of prep work do i need to do in order to do a decent wrap? would patching it with rattle can paint and clear coat work being that i wont even see the colors once i put the wrap on?
I got 5k for my first sw20 mr2 when some lady smashed the door and buckled my fender I’d send you pictures if your interested paradox but yeah she had full coverage and here insurance company luckily gave me a good amount for it

Man how the hell do you do this stuff by yourself, i have experience working in body shops and on cars a lot but i tried doing my hood in carbon as well(also 8th gen civic) and the amount of creases and bubbles was stupid. I spent HOURS trying to work it all to just rip it off and throw it away the next morning. Very frustrating considering i basically balled up a 50 dollar bill and threw it in the trash. Not sure how all you guys on youtube work with this stuff so easily. I think ill stick to painting because i know it works
Thats crazy man you got some skills. Guess im just old skool and would rather paint instead of trying this again. Too expensive to just be experimenting with, i just find it very hard to work with especially not having an extra set of hands to help me out. I tried doing a partial peel of the backing paper and slowly work it down but found that harder to do so i went for it and peeled the whole back then just was a nightmare trying to get the stuff to not wrinkle which youd think on an 8th gen hood wouldnt be an issue but it was for me. I was using vvivid gloss carbon vinyl and the clear gloss coat ended up peeling off when i touched another piece to it because i got a 2.5x5ft roll and didnt take into account the corners of the hood so i had to cut two pieces for that which went great but the big piece was just ridiculous to work with.
@@ParadoxTheWrapper after my second attempt with a larger sheet it came out a little better than my first attempt but still looks terrible. Truely stumped as to how to lay this stuff down flat. Especially on the front corners of the 8th gen civic hood
