Hey ProJared! One of the developers here! What a wonderful playthrough so-far! I really hope you've enjoyed the game (that is, if you have finished it that is)! What were you inspired by when making this game. As in what kind of entertainment product, as in book, movie, game, tv show, etc, had an effect on this game.
+Joakim Lundström Quality > Filler, with the obsession over lengthy open world games nowadays it's easy to forget that a short game with an interesting story can often be a better experience and even value proposition than a game with 100 hours where you collect useless collectibles.
+Joakim Lundström That's a pretty good length for a horror game of this style. Long enough to get grabbed by the atmosphere, short enough so that it doesn't outlive it's welcome, which was the weakness of, Per example, Outlast, which ran a bit too long.
+Joakim Lundström I like your game so far! I'm glad that Jared is playing it for me though. I would be way too scared, especially after one of the grafittis disappeared. Are you planning on sticking with this genre for now or do you also have other ideas for a game?

29:59 that moment when Jared sees the girl. "Oh, oh no...the final clue!" All that was missing was the Zelda "puzzle solved!" music to complete the total mood whiplash. Loved it!
You can tell Jared has alot of talent as a comedian. One of the few Let`s Plays that is carried by witty humor and not just over the top acting. Really appreciate your videos Jared there always hilarious.

I have to say, this game changed a lot compared to the original demo. If it wasn't for the title, I would of thought it was a completely different game.
+Jay Dee Bee I know what you mean .... but maybe the demo was just showing off some of the things they want to do with the game and we get to see them later on ... this is just the beginning after all :D
+Spopovich678 If you look under the comments on the demo playthrough, one of the Devs talks a lot about some of the changes that they had to make. You can also watch Markilpliers Lets play of Stairs so that you see some of the progress that was made. remember, what Jared played the first time was a Pre Alpha. Basically a proof of concept.
***** agreed, but i still think that it is an enjoyable game. The absolute perfect use of a jump scare too that actually got to ProJared. I hope that this dev is able to continue and progress to bigger budgets in games.
The thing she's humming around 28:35 is an extract from a Swedish lullaby actually, I think it's called "byssan lull". Creeped me out to hear that in a place like this >-

That third shadowman is genuinely creepy. Just as Jared turns to look at the vent you can see it in the corner slowly move and become more solid looking. Then, boom, gone.

Jared is the only guy i like watching play horror games. I hate horror stuff (dont do jumpscares or real scares well) but between his composure to his snappy quips to his natural charisma on camera, he makes games like Until Dawn, FNAF, Stairs, etc actually enjoyable to watch

13:37 gave me a idea, what if, in some games, dialogue was possibly triggered by voice input and the user wasn't aware of it? This would be interesting since games get LP'ed so often and the commentators almost always say what is on their mind

The tech demo of P.T. had this feature. Certain aspects of the game could be influenced by your voice.
Jared is my absolute favorite when it comes to horror games. 29:57 illustrates why.

Man, for some weird reason I REALLY like this game. It's like an amnesia custom story but GOOD.
If anyone wonders what Skyddsrum means (it's Swedish), it means shelter as in where you go to protect yourself against fire or explosions etc.

Ok... this is bothering me. Body outlines are only used when the victim survives, and the have to move them right away. If the victim was dead, then the leave the body until they're done taking photos.

making your character a journalist or some sort of investigator is a super easy way to insert them into the plot without a super deep backstory. most indie companies use this. It's by no means a bad thing, it's just overused.

Always funny to watch a non-swedish person or hell even a non-scandinavian person pronounce these words.
Skyddrum translates to "Safety Room." It is Swedish or Norwagian (If I spellt their language correctly sorry if I didn't), or Danish.
And Nedåkra is a LARP group from what I know in Sweden, they have even had weddings, it could refer to a big forest area that is good for larping, so it can be a simple sawmill factory.
Jared is the best at making spooky games so spoopy.

If you're interested: Skydd = guard, protection, cover, defence, safeguard, shelter, and so on. Rum = room.
And we put our words together (and when sometimes we throw in an "s" when one word describes the other). Skydd + rum = Skyddsrum, which is as you say: "Shelter".
The kind you go to in case of war or something.

6:17 missed opportunity to call yourself a throne
Strange... I don't know if it was the recording or the encoding but the contrast is crazy between how well the PIP of Jared looks vs the gameplay footage. I can hardly make out some what is happening, and that's even in the well lit areas. I can't make out a thing in the darker areas, but Jared is nice and crisp in the corner so we have that going for us I guess...
New ProJared Plays? I'd best "stair" at my screen and hopes that he follows the proper "steps" to "ascend" to victory.

Gotta say after one episode the demo seemed much more interesting and psychologically scary, but I can understand why that didn't end up being the final game. The demo was VERY ambitious and innovative, probably just too much to really get right with a small team (these things do happen). Still an interesting game, and got super creepy at the end here. Can't wait to see what happens next!

It might also be because of the tension though. I would not have come this far already because I get frightened terribly quick by these kind of games. Glad to have you to lighten the mood every now and then!

Definitely a good game. I miss the idea of taking pictures so that you don't have to remember everything. In the demo you took pictures of the maps and such so that you knew where things were, and to remember clues. I'm trying to predict the how the story of this game will continue, but I'm not doing a good job. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Why is he playing it NOW? The hype has been over for years". But it turned out to be another game - and so far it seems like a much more interesting one to me.
