GracetoThee The US has around 300 million people with some regional differences but all 50 states quite similar with local, state and federal laws. On the other China has one billion more people. So, trying to compare countries is like apples vs. oranges. China is a conglomeration of tremendous diversity with around fifty different ethnic groups and dozens of languages and dialects. Unless an American does an intense study of how China is governed it is foolish to automatically criticize and condemn the PRC Central Committee. It will be a real challenge to continue to survive with another culture so different than ours. Can there be peaceful coexistence knowing they do not accept individual liberties, basic human rights and a populace that has the power to elect and change their leaders? There are many reasons to be optimistic based on the reality of mutually assured destruction. Like one of our Presidents once said, Speak softly but carry a big stick”. This is the biggest developing country, developing means a lot of things still need to improve. Currently China has just sort of get rid of poverty, but there is still a very long way to go to fully improve everything from public services to the majority of people’s manners in Chinese society. When people are suffering poverty, all their attentions are on how to improve the economic but will overlook a lot of things which are important but not as important as keep themselves alive, the Chinese society has just started to improve these other things recently. For a small country which has smaller map and only less than a million of population, making improvements can be easy and fast. But in a country this big with various kinds of people it could be hard and slow.

Tone E I think it's the other way around, Chinese media portrayal of the US and the west in general is very positive, hence you get these people who has never lived abroad praising those countries, the only negative aspect about the west in Chinese media are about their politically antagonizing attitude towards China. So many Chinese don't like the government of the west, but are rather receptive of their people. also censorship is less of a barrier than language barrier, vpn is extremely easy to use, and if your browsing experience only has one simple additional step of using VPN then. that's not even censorship. the fire wall is there because the Chinese government don't want the anti-China news to reach critical mass in China, occasional curiosities don't bother the government. English language news sites can be browsed without vpn (although I've tried it around 3 years ago)

What it's like living in china? I lived there for 5 years (city in northern China) and I can tell you this: 1. Housing is expensive! Rent for apartment with 2 bedrooms in decent neighborhood (not in international environment where expats live) can easily reach more than 6K RMB per month 2. Not much freedom in the internet. Even paid VPN is often getting blocked. However I can access many videos which is unavailable on RUclips for free on Youku and Sohu, like Sherlock series. 3. Chinese manners...... Well as far as I experienced it, the older generations is generally the ones who lack courtesy. Cutting the lines, spatting in public, talk loudly etc 4. Hygiene! I hardly find any clean public toilet there (clean=no smell, no residue), even public toilet at hotels and malls (Carrefour is the worst!) 5. Work ethics. I admire their attitude towards work and study. They take things seriously and work diligently. This applies to most of Chinese, from children to adults (Well the kids have long hours of school) Well it's not a bad experience though..
So you are foreigber who come to China? If so, you can use phone card in your country, buy overseas data package, you still can watch youtube and facebook etc. It work for me.
The older generations didn’t get good education. And the education program didn’t start in their generation, so they weren’t able to receive good education including how important it is to keep the environment clean and stuff
it depends on your options. China is a great idea but it certainly isn't the best idea. There are other places but some of these may be inconvenient, far from home, or hard to get access to their top quality education (let's face it all countries have a higher and lower end of education level)
@Illunworth yes but this only applies for Chinese students up to high school. International students are very advantaged as they are exempt from gaokao (university entrance exam) which is VERY competitive. Hope this helps
Yes we know, because we have to deal with those people with bad manners in our lives every day. And we can't just simply label a group of people with bad manners to demonstrate we are superior to them. We know why these bad manners exist and we are trying hard to improve them.
@@starfaisal2499 Yup we know that some of us are so rude and have bad manners. We know that it causes a lot of inconvenience in other contries. Trust me, we know and we feel so ashamed. Wise man.
Trump got it right saying that China is NOT or enemy but our competitors in a world that is quickly becoming unsustainable in so many ways.

Sabrina Dong Ok there is no such as a perfect government then there is the CCP literally turning the mainland into a totalitarian police state not to mention throwing Muslim minorities into camps.

I think it's the other way around, Chinese media portrayal of the US and the west in general is very positive, hence you get these people who has never lived abroad praising those countries, the only negative aspect about the west in Chinese media are about their politically antagonizing attitude towards China. So many Chinese don't like the government of the west, but are rather receptive of their people.

What makes you think that?
You can say whatever u wish just not allowed to criticize the government in harsh words that's it. Like last month, a middle school in China got shut down temporarily (stop recruiting students in the next 1 year or so) because it was reported by a student that the school oppressed them so much and Chinese on the internet gone nuts defending the students so the govt shut down the school and made them reorganize until the students and their parents are satisfied, so ya it def has freedom of speech in China

What it's like living in china?
I lived there for 5 years (city in northern China) and I can tell you this:
1. Housing is expensive! Rent for apartment with 2 bedrooms in decent neighborhood (not in international environment where expats live) can easily reach more than 6K RMB per month
Cutting the lines, spatting in public, talk loudly etc
4. Hygiene! I hardly find any clean public toilet there (clean=no smell, no residue), even public toilet at hotels and malls (Carrefour is the worst!)
5. Work ethics. I admire their attitude towards work and study. They take things seriously and work diligently. This applies to most of Chinese, from children to adults (Well the kids have long hours of school)
Well it's not a bad experience though..

I find Chinese history and culture very interesting! The country definitely has it’s problems, but so does my country of Canada. I believe too many people write off China as nothing more than a communist country, and lose sight of it’s beautiful history, culture, and language.

Yes i agree with you ,i think this is because everybody just see from one side not see the another side..
I don't know if there will be chance for you to see my comments here. But I wanted to share that I just started watching your videos. I really learned a lot from "culture, experiences and beliefs" etc. But the most touching content for me was the grandmother who earned just $2 daily. I love her positivity in life. ❤👏👏👏
In Aisan Boss, Asia ≈ China + Japan + Korea
I am using ≈ instead of = because there are a few videos about Fillipines and India, only a few.
It should have changed its name into East Asian Boss.
Hope there are more videos about other Asian countries on the way.
Yeah but people think of China+Japan+Korea when they see Asia...They won't be interested if the channel interview someone from, say, Cambodia.
Oliver Huang or u can start ur own channel called se asian boss 😊
Chris Song cambodian boss lol
@@tonee4024 too bad this channel now onyl focusing heavily on south korea alone.
I've always wanted to visit china. The city looks beautiful
Its funny cause I live in Korea but I want to move to China, not in the cities though but in the provinces in China. I'm inlove with the simple lifestyle in the provinces in China. Chinese culture is so beautiful.
Love China from the USA 🇺🇲❤️🇨🇳
I agree with some unsatisfied opinions to some extent, especially about education. But I think they just need to be more realistic on how China can catch up to the other developed countries within such a short term and hold onto 1.4 billion people's desired life day by day.I couldn't imagine that I would be able to foster 14 children to live happily and equally based on a broken past.
People talk about economy but has 0 knowledge to analyze it properly. You said it very well. You can't just say that education is bad without taking in consideration all variables. Specially if you want to compare it to ther countries. From my point of view China is doing pretty well and will grow even faster at this rate.
That's why it says: Grass is always greener in the other side
China is really a fascinating country..☺️
China still has a long way to go .education, politics, economy, and so on.chinese just want to live a peaceful life.hope other countries know more and deep about china,so misunderstanding will reduce.
The Chinese are well informed and very candid.
I was waiting for that video ... thank you
0:45 "Cause I have no money." That sweater is perfectly succinct.
These people are so eloquent and grounded...
It would be interesting to hear the views of people living in second tier city's such as Dalian or Shenyang etc.
They are more lay back
One day I'd like to save enough money to visit China, I think there would be so many interesting things to discover. But I have no clue how I could handle the incredibly long flight!
films watching.....thats what i always do for the 11 hours long flights
Hóng XÚ Yea but I dont mean just spending the time, I mean not freaking out... This summer I did a 2 hour flight to Madeira and I just wanted it to end, I guess I'm scared of plane trips 😔
money always not enough . just go , my friend .
try to sleep or watch movies! The trip will be worth it and the food there is awesome.
Mariana Oliveira if u love surprise i suggest u to do this. buy the ticket to china, and few days before departure watch alot of fox news, cnn, bbc about china. you ll jaw drop when u arrive in china ,no matter what city you are going to. 😊
i gotta say one thing tho. I spend like couple months in China every two or three years to visit my family there, I think that, as a foreigner, if you can embrace and at least try to understand the culture differences, China is still pretty nice to live in (of course, most cities I mean..). It's safe there, people are hospitable and there are sooo many good food
Sun and prosperity for the people?
What I noticed is the 'American Dream' is still pretty much alive in China.
Let me just put it this way. There is an old Chinese proverb. “ hearing about something for hundred times still isn’t as good as seeing it for one time”. After visiting some places in China for the first time, I was in a state of AWE. Total culture shock. I’ve beet so brainwashed oversees for so many years prior to visit.
Thank you. 🙏🏽great video and I want to visit some day.
