    I can not understand that, velocity of impeller tip (V2) is supersonics, than,How vaneless diffuser decrease velocity?

    if there is no energy gain in diffuser then how there would be the rise in pressure? pressure is also one form of energy which rises temperature of fluid

      Pasu pathynathan.B despite the loss of total pressure in the diffuser due to viscosity, the increase in area in the diffuser reduces the air velocity, therefore the dynamic pressure is also reduced but the static pressure is increased. The goal of any kind of compressor is to increase the static pressure .

    as the area increases pressure reduces (P=force/area) i cant get the correct working of diffuser how the pressure is gained

      Yes u r correct. If area increases pressure decreases. Where as in this case, there is conversion of kinetic energy into pressure energy because of decrease in velocity.

      Tejas Desai here dynamic word come from
      static head and dynamic head, static head provided by pressure while dynamic head by velocity

      The pressure measuring instrument is static relative to the fluid flow ie. the fluid and the pressure measuring instrument are assumed to move together.

      As per boundary layer theory velocity of the fluid becomes zero at the wall, where pressure measuring instruments are installed, because of zero velocity pressure will be max as per bernouli theory. That's why the name

      kishan chauhan As area increase, velocity decrease according to continuity equation and pressure is inversely proportional to velocity hence pressure is directly proportional to area
