I love the fact that the prince is so insecure even though he has the ladies fawning over him. Matthew Broderick was my crush as a child when I watched this series
I love how Matthew Broderick is the prince!! He's so young here and reminds me so much of my boyfriend, they look alike and how awkward they act, this is undoubtedly now one of my fav versions of Cinderella!!!
It was available on VHS back in the early to mid 80s. My mother used to rent this movie for me at Captain Video. Then in 1985, they would show a lot of Faerie Tale Theater movies on Showtime, which is where I got most of my videos from. :)
the best Cinderella adaptation in my opinion. Somehow I prefer this version over the Disney version although I really like it. This is my favorite part of the show and the music for their first dance is what made me fall in love with this episode :)
Mathew Broderick is so adorable as the prince. "Where're some more of those crunchy things?" XD It's also super cute that she has no idea that she's dancing with the prince.
When i was a little girl i LOVED cinderellas fdress and the puffy sleeves it just so sparkly! i asked my parents if i could have one just like hers! LOL
Personally, I think Cinderella was kind of rude to just take off like that. I know she had to be home by midnight, but there was no reason why she couldn't have said "I'm sorry, I have to leave." rather than just taking off without so much as a goodbye.
The actor who plays the Prince was never on 2 and half men. It's Matthew Broderick, who was in Ferris Beuler's Day off. Jon Cryer is on 2 and half men.
"The amount size of you heart that you give to someone else but you won't take my son from me." "That's the price I cannot pay!"The quote is from GEPPETTO(2000) (TV).
the prince seems nervouse lol the one i have is funny its nothing like this one it has diffrent ppl and them stepsisters are singing a song and its "show off she is such a show off stupid cinderella is a show off " its funny as hell
@juliewitter Matthew Broderick's not the ONLY one here that appeared in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Bertha, one of the stepsisters was in that movie as well. Remember this? GRACE: Ed! ED! ROONEY: What? GRACE: Ferris Bueller's on Line 2.
I agree with you, but I think Cinderella should definitely be a red-head. The Blonde Cinderella is so overdone, but a red-haired Cinderella would definitely stand out because red is the least common hair color in the world, and she might be the only red-haired woman in the kingdom. It would be the other thing, besides the slipper, that the prince would remember.
How come all of you guys can watch this but I keep getting: We're sorry, this video is no longer available? I already updated my flash player and nothing's working.
I absolutely love the camera angles used when Cinderella and the Prince start to dance. So beautiful...great movie!
Cinderella is a maniac on the dance floor, and she's dancing like she's never dance before.
I love the fact that the prince is so insecure even though he has the ladies fawning over him. Matthew Broderick was my crush as a child when I watched this series
Both the Prince and Cinderella are beautiful and wonderful! Music is also romantic! All is so happy :)
i love how insecure the prince is here lol much better then those stuck up princes in a lot of stories
When did this Premiere??? I feel like it around time Eve Walton was in GREASE
"Rubbish, you did it all yourself. The cake was already made, all I did was add the frostin!" my favorite of the Fairy Godmother's lines!
Prince Henry is definitely one of the softest and most boyish princes seen on Faerie Tale Theatre.
the best Cinderella adaptation in my opinion. Somehow I prefer this version over the Disney version although I really like it. This is my favorite part of the show and the music for their first dance is what made me fall in love with this episode :)
Matthew Broderick makes a quirky and adorable prince. He's charming in a gawky kind of way lol :)
@iheartnewyorkbaby 😃He also validates shorter men's decision *not* to avoid dating taller women!!
Mathew Broderick is so adorable as the prince.
"Where're some more of those crunchy things?" XD
It's also super cute that she has no idea that she's dancing with the prince.
"It is not the size of the body that counts. It is the size of the heart". I think that quote is true in this sense. :)
Fun fact: Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Beals would reunite in the animated film "The Thief and the Cobbler" respectively as Tac and Princess Yum-Yum
it's so funny how the skinny sister is the one stuffing her face
I remember watching this over and over as a kid!
I liked the dance when Cinderella and Prince are dancing ohhhhh I love that part
Watching this after so many years, I STILL wish they did her hair differently.
"Disappear Alfred!"
"Certainly!" LOLZ
When i was a little girl i LOVED cinderellas fdress and the puffy sleeves it just so sparkly! i asked my parents if i could have one just like hers! LOL
My favorite version of Cinderella=) The dance scene is so pretty=)
I LOVE the Dresses!!!
6:00 - 6:02 Matthew climbed up one step, Jennifer didn't.
That seems like proof Matthew Broderick really *was* considerably shorter than 5'8"!
I like how it is the Skinny sister shoveling down food and not the fat one. Kind of nice change
She's a maniac, maniac on the floor. And she's dancing like she never danced before.
"Disappear, Alfred."
"Okay!"
hahahhahaha
He makes the perfect chaste prince.
Gwaaahhh he's like a Disney character personified!
Alfred is hillarious--he's obviously drunk!
"Disappear Alfred" "Ok" hahaha
I love listening to the waltz music, I use it as one of my relaxing songs in my son's lullaby playlist at bedtime
My son Loved Waltzes as a Baby!!! Now he Loves Grease and Sound of music
"Cinderella?" More like "Ferris Bueller's High School Play."
best part of the whole show is the dancing scene=) SO beautiful!
Lol, they walked right up to her face and heard her voice and still they didn't regognixe her at all! :D And that dress is very pretty! ((:
when you're 19, almost 20 and you realize that you watched this on VHS as a kid, only to find out it's from 1985
Lol the prince is adorable! 3
The dancing is so pretty
AWW!! Matthew Broderick is a sweetheart!!
He is one of my Favorite actors!!! He is Very handsome!!! He was Amazing as VOICE of Simba!!!
Cinderella definitely looks gorgeous!!!
It's the clothes--they are probably so used to seeing Cinderella in rags that they never would conceive of Cinderella wearing anything else.
It is ok for short prince to find tall princess. Nothing wrong with height.
Matthew Broderick: Cinderella.
Cinderella: Yes
Matthew Braderick: That's a lot of fish.
Cinderella:...What?
Personally, I think Cinderella was kind of rude to just take off like that. I know she had to be home by midnight, but there was no reason why she couldn't have said "I'm sorry, I have to leave." rather than just taking off without so much as a goodbye.
I love how short the prince is... lol
He's so cute here! And in Music Man, he's got an awesome voice.
I love him in LION KING!!!
That's the guy from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
both are so shy xDDD
but they are so cute together *-*
The actor who plays the Prince was never on 2 and half men. It's Matthew Broderick, who was in Ferris Beuler's Day off. Jon Cryer is on 2 and half men.
"and we danced, and we talked and we had melon ball!"
hahahhaa!
~lAUra
@MrCodyhoskins That's part of what makes him so lovable! And besides, it's Matthew Broderick playing him!
OMG!!! Matthew Broderick was so cute and handsome young
It's a "ferris bueller": type of prince lol!
10:25 - reminded me of her Flashdance scene with her mentor Hanna - Oh Jennifer, you will always be my Alex! that sweet beautiful girl!
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?.......
Cinderella is Jennifer Beals from the movie Flashdance!!!!
does anyone else have the song from flashdance running through their heads?
TRIVIA: Beals and Broderick would be reunited in "Arabian Knight/The Thief and the Cobbler" as the voices of Princess Yum Yum and Tack.
I wonder if Archie Bunker was aware of Edith dressing up like Queen Elizabeth
omg ferris bueller! awesome hes such a funny prince.
@shadowcat75 have you seen Hairspray? Not a princess story but I think it is sweet.
I love the waltz. I want to dance with Matthew!
Mathew Brodrick.EKKKKK!Ohmg,i think i just started drolling.Hes soo cute.
i like how hennry said "disappear alfred"
Me: "Oh I hope they got a handsome pri---- MATTHEW BRODERICK!!! OMG OMG OMG new favorite movie...right here :D
Try 22. He was definitely a young-un in this movie... then again, so was Jennifer Beals. She was 21 here.
Matthew Broderick is like a teddy-bear. You just want to snuggle him.
@DassMorris hehe i don't mind dating short guys, they're cute :) apparently she has my taste haha
"The amount size of you heart that you give to someone else but you won't take my son from me." "That's the price I cannot pay!"The quote is from GEPPETTO(2000) (TV).
the prince ist VERY shy xDDD
the prince's hair is too neat!!!
One of the male dancers is Patrick Swayze's brother!
i like the melon balls part XD
This is cute, I like the silly comedy, but Rodgers and Hammerstiens Cinderella will always be my favorite.
At first, I thought Prince Henry was going to pull out his cell phone and tell her what time it was, lol.
She's really pretty
AND WE HAD MELON BALLS! hahahahahahaha
'We gonna take-a leetle break-a now!' LOL
Does no one remember "War Games"? I fell in love with Matthew then.
OHHH MY GOD!!!! ITS FERRIS BUELLER!!!! I'LL B YOUR PRINCESS!!!
There's also a computer game called "Cinders" (Which is a vastly different retelling of the story) where she's a redhead as well.
When and where did this video show?
The prince so veryyyyyyyyyyyy cute and handsome and also manly now in the world have this kind of men like this anymore??
the prince seems nervouse
lol
the one i have is funny
its nothing like this one

stepsisters are singing a song
and its
"show off she is such a show off stupid cinderella is a show off "
its funny as hell
"...and we had melon balls!" wow, cindy, is that something exciting you would want to talk about?
Matthew Broderick..wasn't he in inspector gadget?
Prince Henry sounds like Simba.
He is=)
Hes the voice of Simba! He was soooo young here tho! Lol
Kayla Dahl Also, Kayla, the voice of Mufasa played the Genies in Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp and was Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies.
the prince is very camp, he is just so dandy.
Mathew Brodrick.EKKKKKK!!!!! omg,hes sooo adorable and Hansom.I wish i were cinderella.XD
"That's a lot of fish."

@princesslarasama Yeah, I've never seen a short prince before. lol
I agree with you, but I think Cinderella should definitely be a red-head. The Blonde Cinderella is so overdone, but a red-haired Cinderella would definitely stand out because red is the least common hair color in the world, and she might be the only red-haired woman in the kingdom. I'm a little confused by dialogues ... Do educated people can say some things that I hear here?
But I like the actors
LOL I really like the conductor XD
How come all of you guys can watch this but I keep getting: We're sorry, this video is no longer available? I already updated my flash player and nothing's working.
yea...i always thought he could've used a few more inches for this movie...but awkwardly cute nonetheless.
i love this version!
The Cinderella character should be potrayed with blonde or red hair, it would make her stand out more, and with dark hair she just blends in,
did anyone else have to watch this for a high school writing assignment
I say look the 1989 Cinderella, there is Cinderella red-haired.
