    Now many know that Thailand has one of highest percentage of self-employed people in the world at around 52%, compare to US - 10%/UK - 13% , lowest unemployment rate in the world at 1.03%, every second Thai' is self-employed,. In 25 years, never seen a university educated Thai struggling with paying rent or working two jobs in Thailand. The rent, employment, cost of living, has all remained the same more or less while the west has gone from hell and back.
    A Thai will go through 3 or 4 major life crisis in his whole life while a farang JUMPS from ONE CRISIS TO ANOTHER, IT NEVER ENDS for him in the west. Thailand also has the least amount of "Karens" like you will never ever see a Thai women wanting to see the "MANAGER" here, In 25 years, never seen a single Thai Karen. ☺

      With all due respect to Thailand, i have to strongly disagree with the never seen a Thai karen, yes they may not make a scene, but they will film you and upload you to social media to whine behind your back, have you ever lived in a thai condo and noticed how there is a complaint about anything and everything, and if anyone breaks the "rules" they are plastered all over the condo social page, have you not noticed if there is a farang that is caught illegally working/volunteering it makes news due to locals sticking there beak in and dobbing, never have i seen a country put on national news a farang caught volunteering (picking up trash from the dirty beach) meanwhile there are millions of illegal thais that work around the world, i could go on forever but rant over lol

    Only on thing I disagree with the family is to sending their children to the international school when they were very young ages. As I'm Thai grew up with a normal Thai school and progress to international college at university level. That would make much better points, and that because of school fees over spended and burden to the family expenditure. How would you management of your fortune stabilities?

    The sad reality for young middle income Australians is they have next to zero hope of ever buying a home without putting themselves into slavery for 20-30 years. Real wages have been going down while home prices have been going through the roof. Many of these Australians are highly educated by global standards, and they are screwed unless they inherit some money or get a big hand out from their family. It also doesnt help residential rental prices in Australia are x4 to x5 prices found in most of Asia. I have computer programming associates who have moved to Japan because the pay and the cost of living are far better. It wasn't that long ago Australians would be in awe of how expensive the cost of living in Japan was, now we wonder how much it is to move to Japan.

      Consultancy would be the way to go. Retirement age in Thailand is 55, so large companies rarely hire anyone over 50 beyond very high positions. But consultancy work is becoming huge here. My company generally has 4-5 consultancy firms on the books at any given time working with different departments on projects. It can't hurt to look into firms in Bangkok that specializes in providing consulting in your expertise area and seeing what they say.

If one has enough saving, a good mindset and know how to spend money wisely, (Almost) everywhere can be comfortable. • @adamparker21
      @adamparker21  2 месяца назад +4

      Depends what you want your life to look like. As Logan mentioned, if you’re looking to send 2x Kids to International School, save a fair amount money every month to properly prepare for retirement, provide a nice home for your family in a solid location, and then enjoy some extra curriculurs such as Family Holidays, putting Kids into extra-curricular Activities, etc. then yes, Logan stating 150K to 200K Baht per Month is very fair in my opinion. That’s not to say those with children can’t and don’t live much cheaper than this (as you pointed out), but it certainly wouldn’t yield the lifestyle that Logan and his family enjoy. I can’t comment on the US as I’m not American and have never lived there, but in Canada… you’d be extremely hard pressed to live the type of life Logan and his family live on a Household Income of ~ CAD $90K per year (adjusting for exchange rates) when you factor in taxes, rent/mortgage payments, and general cost of living expenses.

    • @HairyPixels
      @HairyPixels 2 месяца назад +2

      @@adamparker21 well that's more than the medium family income in Canada too. It'd be like a Thai person moving to America and saying you need to be earning 300k/year to be living a good life. This advice is more like how to live like the top 1% in Thailand. Fair enough I guess. Thanks.

    • @jm1835
      @jm1835 2 месяца назад

      For a foreigner family it's about right. International schools are a big expense and required if you want your kids to speak English fluently or study abroad for college. Modern 3 bedroom accommodation is cheaper than America but still costly. You'll be running a/c most of the year so utilities aren't cheap. Western style groceries are expensive. Raising kids is expensive, which is why Thailand has a lower birth rate than even Korea/Japan
