Strike just below the center/valve using the laces of your foot striking upwards when striking plant your planting foot towards the area you wanna kick the ball to and striking forward minimizing any side spin by striking it below the center.

For those keepers that are afraid of diving cause of getting hurt, you can wear some.padding underneath and tape your wrists and ankles. not talking American football as that will weight you done but more the ones power forwards in basketball use, that have foam side pads you can wear it underneath your long sleeve jersey and will cushion you in impact i did this when i played. After i switched to basketball but i want to get back into keeping in really rusty.

There's a technique boxer's do to avoid flinching and it's by flicking water in your own eyes with the entire purpose being to stop blinking when being punched. Other than that I'm not sure how to stop blinking when catching the ball

When the ball is coming towards me at a medium height or from a close range, I want to know the best techniques to use. Should I focus on positioning myself to cut down the angle, using my hands to block the shot, or practicing quick reactions and footwork? Any advice on handling these types of situations would be greatly appreciated!
Obviously if you can catch the ball then catch the ball with the W technique while doing a collapse dive as it's for those sorts of distances. If you can't catch the ball because of the close distance then ensure to parry it far and wide. Defiantly focus on positioning yourself to cut down the angle as better positioning leads to easier saves. Yes, work on footwork and reaction speed.

Realistically you can say the same thing for every type of dive as the shuffle isn't only used for the mid dives. Absolutely footwork is required depending on the situation however in the video I did say to use the shuffle "If Possible" as some shots might be too powerful or you seen the ball too late meaning you might not be able to fit the shuffle in, in time.

You can apply those things when training 1-2-1 with a coach and focusing on the things you want to improve. Repeat what your focus is in your own head to be able to focus on that thing when executing it. This will then become second nature and improve your goalkeeping to make more saves
You might have a bruise or something, or the surface you dive on is very hard, or you're not conditioned enough to the constant impact as a goalkeeper as you shouldn't feel pain
@@OP1GKThe pain is only on low dives, when my arms are fully extended, the shoulder kinda stretches and my ribs scrape on the ground maybe I’m not doing it properly?

Why the 2 step shuffle for mid dive? Footwork all depends on what’s required depending on the situation.
